"Don't count your pts and weapons until they're uploaded." (see what I did there?) Admittedly it's hard for me to be positive anymore about YJ. Um because bikes are cool and I really do miss my Aragoto. Part of the reason I play Dahshat is so I can have bikers.
But, but, but... Explode!!!! Or some other shitty excuse And I'm willing to bet my left arm Yu Jing gets no overhaul
Oh yeah, me did derp. But that's still at least 10 points cheaper for a very similar performance profile. It's still the Liu Xing that looks like a turd rolled in matte varnish atm, not the Tiger. Well, you know... without the points we don't know anything, now do we, so we don't have anything to compare, right? We already know that O-12's Bureau Aegis is the human sphere's most technologically dense army, so they will have units that trump almost everything humans can put out, meaning it's specific configurations and points that balance it out for us.
Putting aside the fact that the BSG/Combi+Flamethrower are the two profiles I use most on Tigers, he also comes with a Flash pulse, and apparently FO works in ARO now as well. Not gonna lie if I had an FO profile for the BSG Tiger I'd do some disgusting things with SMLs.
It is very unsettling to glimpse the N4 that these profiles suggest. I was hoping a bit of rebalancing, cheaper ARM, making some offending weapons/skills/equipment more expensive, and cutting down on the NWI+Shock immune fake non-hackable HI. Unfortunately, it seems like it's gone the opposite direction with everything getting cheaper and the de-nesting of skills leading to greater abuses of min-maxing rather than creating the interesting variety promised. I have no doubt YJ units will get significant points discounts in line with these changes but this just encourages power creep in unit design and larger order lists, something I thought they were trying to move away from. Equally, improving units through points discounts and min-max of unnested skills leads to a lack in strategic depth when building lists and playing games. Decent units with weaknesses and figuring out how to mitigate/exploit them is part of the joy of list building and in-game strategy. Now you can afford to have units that do it all. I'm aware we've not seen the proper N4 rules and updates yet but the indicators aren't very promising. I want to be optimistic but Starmada seems to be a slap in the face of IA (not that the world needs more YJ salt) and YJ "specialities" as a whole. Hopefully I'm proven wrong and apologies for the rant.
starmada looks like fucking garbage (1 ava flashpulse bot ZERO baggages no linked hmgs aside from kappa) you are out of your mind
They have another core we don't have profiles on yet, Nyoka Assault Troops, which may well carry HMGs. They have access to both White Noise (presumably it's carrying over editions) and Smoke, they can close any gap they want to for Spitfires, Plasma weapons, or what have you. Motherfucking Hector can go in a core link Even with what we don't know about the Nyoka the sectorial isn't without the longer range B5 option. The TAG carries the BRRRRRT gun. If your definition of army list requiring AVA2+ flash pulse bots to be competitive all I've gotta say is holy shit you play inside a tiny box.
"we've got Su Jian/Kuang Shi" gets old after a while, and it's been ages since we got them and that's all YJ can offer? I would say there is a problem there Also, Yu Jing, the only faction that lost a Sectorial and never got a replacement; the only faction that got one of their special characters removed and given to other/s factions. And the list goes on and on, like "this shaolin monk and this ninja, both Asian tropes, will be available to PanO because reason, but you won't be able to use the N4 preorder mini because fuck you, why didn't you choose PanO? Etc, etc, etc... I'm no longer painting nor playing my JY, I got fed up of being crapped upon time and time again, like with our overhyped "HI Sectorial" with worse HI links than other factions or our "Camo sectorial" that doesn't offer anything over vanilla because you can't even have 5 Zhansis and wildcards have to be limited in YJ BECAUSE YU JING.
That's why I'm ignoring YJ. Whoops, remember than linked jammer we had? O12 does it better too [emoji23][emoji23]
Well When CB seems hell-bent on shitting on YJ as a faction it might just be accurate. Giving the Kunai and Liang Kai to PanO was just gratuitous.
Actually, I don't think they do it better. White banner is hella strong with great linked options for that Jammer.
I am normally a sourpuss about the many factions I play, but I’m pretty pleased with WB. I don’t really get AVA 4 Zhanshi and the need for Jujaks AND Shang Ji, but compared to my last few Sectorials (RTF & TJC) it seems a lot more complete in its’ ability to make varied lists. A lot of this hatred is funny, people were doing the same crying when O-12 first came out... and they didn’t break the meta then.
We must have been watching different videos because I saw an army with very clear definitive long range and ARO weaknesses, optimized but extremely expensive and focused profiles, no marker state or hidden deployment, and nothing over BS13. What I did see was a direct acknowledgement from Bostria about expensive units being more affordable in N4, which is a direct buff to Yu Jing. So while I understand your concern about NWI+SI being a thing, consider who these effects are on: an FD8"/AD trooper in a sectorial with no resilient ability to fight past the midline, and a couple characters, all of whom are focused on extreme close range combat. All that aside I can't believe we've gotten to 2020 and people still think of YJ as the "HI" faction. It's true we've got a larger collection of elite HI than most other armies, but consider what we got in the last two sectorials: - The single most well-protected and useful LT in the game. - The best defensive linkable hacker in the game. - The most optimized S5 HI in the game. - Everything about Lei Gong's kit - Two different dirt cheap camo AROs with rockets, or 0 SWC minelayers and panzers - CORE LINKED JAMMERS - MSV1/Mimetism/Super Jump AP Spitfires/Missile launchers. And that's only counting the objectively good units. Of those, only one of them is a "true" HI. Yu Jing got stacks of useful stuff from the last two years but most of the better ones weren't anywhere close to HIs. As a result, we're probably one of the most fully featured armies in the game. I'm confident that there's nothing in the game that a solid Yu Jing list has difficulty dealing with, and that'll be even more true in N4 when our MSV1 troops -- and by god we have a lot of MSV1 troops -- can see through smoke.
I'm struggling to understand why you're upset at this. Are you angry that the Kunai or Liang Kai, average units at best, can be used in PanO? Last I checked, both were in the YJ army list, does PanO and O-12 getting them prevent you from using them? The N3 mini was a Joan if I remember correctly. Is that shitting on Nomads, CA, Ariadna, etc too? I'm sure the Uprising is a sore spot, but I started playing just after that and I never felt like I was at a disadvantage against other players because of it. The Ko Dali thing is, in comparison, ancient history. Losing her seemed to be minor in comparison to CA losing their Exrah. We even got the effect of one of their TAGs on one of our troops. Honestly dude I think you've got an unresolved inferiority complex, because Yu Jing's in the best place it's been since I started playing. Vanilla YJ is one of the best armies in the game right now, and refusing to play with your minis because you think the developers have it in for you is kinda pathetic if I'm being completely straight with you.
Aah right, I remember now, thank you. I actually went back and looked at the video; Bostria mentioned that Octavia is part of Submundo, so she might be a merc as well. So we'll have to see!
