That's on the profile rather than the weapon, but yes, turning uniquely names rules into modifiers on the profile is one of the best bits of C1/N4.
It will be interesting to see if they keep that style of notation or if they go back to N3's way of handling it. On the one hand, having Breaker Pistol (+1B) means that a Scavenger will pick up both pistols and that's groovy, but on the other hand it also means that if a Hac Tao picks up a HMG from a Panoply they won't be able to go Double Rambo On a Boat. Maybe that's for the best, tbh...
They can always add a rule to Scavenger/Panoplies that if you get the exact same weapon twice it gains a +1B modifier.
That rule is currently set up so that you have to ditch what you're carrying to pick something new up, which I think is a good idea to keep it from totally snowballing into ridiculousness, so I'm not sure it's all that wanted or necessary. Frankly, the more I think about it I do prefer it where a set of weapons are matched at manufacturing instead of having the separate rule we have atm. I think the way it's written in C1 will probably get better the more you play with it.
So... Kappa Sniper Kappa Hacker Kappa HMG Bluecoats (I dub thee Commissar Sven) seems to be the dual wielder with pistol + smg... maybe Saladin is hiding the coat in the art Lawkeepers being the biker with what looks like assault pistol and Para CCW Saladin with a DA CCW unless my colour memory is off Crushers BSG Airborne Deployment Crushers Multi Rifle Forward Deployment Bronze (S2 heavy infantry) with what looks like a Spitfire with a fluid attachment maybe (Riotstopper?)
Yes, we've been over that already, I just think that the actual model seems to have an under-slung attachment with a fluid container.
The Crushers look great. But two of them in there pretty much kills any chance for a box. :( that's pretty crushing. Cause i really want to see more of them. Kappa SWC options hell yeah. Hmmm.. I'm super intrigued to what the bluecoat does. Dig the naval officer/commissar look. The Lawkeeper's pistol looks like an oversized breaker pistol. Still no idea about the Bronze. Wonder if they'll have a gimmick or be arm5 brusiers. I think we'll see Saladin with combi and spitfire profiles. Maybe even Boarding shotgun too since those were all in his dossier.
I'm surprised they didn't put in one of the existing O-12 HI. Well, its nice that this is giving O-12 a bunch of new units. A bike unit is always hype. I love the bluecoat. And Kappa link teams should be interesting with their shock immunity. I just hope that the Crushers have some extra rule not in Code One that helps improve the forward deployment profile because otherwise its kind of meh. If Crushers don't have any extra rules then Starmada is going to have a weaker midfield without access to Gangbusters and Team Sirius.
It wouldn't surprise me if one of the two (if not both) of the pre order models will work to starmada, partially to bring it up to a full combat group, and two itd be odd for the other two models in the bundle to be unusable with each other.
A retailer posted a picture of Grimsdottir's Blister and it had the O-12 logo. Shona is more of an unknown but considering she was in charge of circular security I think the falls under O-12 as well, though Valkyrie wasn't usable with any parts of last year's Gen Con bundle so who knows.
Shona is a PanO character and sword instructor for the newly formed order of Knights of Justice, and I bet that will be the only army you'll can use her for (just look at her color scheme and body armor).
She also trains the Aquila Guard on Neoterra. Here is a quote from her Aristeia! profile: "After her departure from Aristeia!, Carano focused on her career as a weapons teacher and became a trainer of the Aquila Guard, the elite of PanOceania’s NeoTerran troops."
