I'm warming up to his profile, but his sculpt (while nice in its own right) doesn't look like someone who is adequately dressed for a military operation. Do you reckon we get a proper N4 combat variant for Tao Wu?
He's as suitably dressed as a CSU or Odalisque. As an Aristo he'll also be in a combat grade Lhost which helps a lot.
This is his i-khol. Imagine the proud Musashi assaulting his target, then the holoprojector wears off and WTF IS THAT???
Also, this is his Aristea alt figure. There might still be one for Infinity. That outfit is probably fine for Aristea because it just "looks" like that. It's actually made up of micro weave kevlar or whatever future fabric.
...and that's just the epidermal layer... Also, he's got ARM 1 and hasn't even got NWI, not to mention PH10, so it's on par with a Celestial Guard, while a bit more protected than a Ninja's cat-suit or a Designated Target's coveralls, both the latter have quicker reaction times.
Its a shame he is still not in army. Why do they tease us and then we can't play with this guy. Why even bother with n3 profile then? N4 will be here somewhere in August, and he has release date 31 july...
They said he'd be in Army late July when they showed the profile. N4 is down as a September release now, so you'll get a month with him.
Tao Wu is showing up in Army but it's in Druze, Yu Jing, and ISS. I thought it was said he'd be in White Banner?
He was supposed to be in ISS and white company in n4. Druze is clearly a mistake, for sure they were putting him in Dashat as wildcard. But on more serious note he isn't linkable in ISS at least in n3 so some people's hopes and dreams got crushed :)
Considering the work needed to add him to army, I don't think it's a mistake. I do wish he was in Dahshat instead but Dahshat doesn't need him much. Druze could possibly make use of him. I think having him in a link was getting hopes a bit too much.
Its still a meme with all the salt about Dashat getting YJ units and being able to wildcard them when YJ can't :)
Kinda why i play Dahshat too. In my head they are a sort of Sectoral of Yu Jing. Sort of think of them as like Star Co. who are actually Nomad more than not. It's where much of my first edition figs have been "re-assigned". They are the White Tigers of the West, ISS the Black Turtle of the North, and haven't quite figured out the rest lol.
Both the new characters are kitted to be in a link, and neither are in a link in N3 ISS. I don't think they've developed them for N3 ISS at all, and as such they haven't play tested it enough to alter link capabilities. We'll see if they are linkable in N4 (and how links work in N4)
