So we now know the identity of the O-12 sectorial in the new box that accompanied.

    Starmada

So beyond having an excellent portmanteau for a name what do people expect and hope for? Crushers seem an obvious choice with their Naval background.

I think for me this is very much a wait and see kind of deal. Seems like besides Crushers there's not many certain units and we may see a huge influx of new units for O-12 to take it from almost sectorial-sized up beyond.

Personally, I'm very much a fan of forward deploying troops, so I'm hoping for more of that than airborne deployment.

It does SOUND interesting, but the only other real "naval" unit was Qapu Khalqi, right? (Maybe Nomads, but they all seemed more multi-purpose anyway.) Nothing in QK screamed space-battles to my amateur gaze. The game is not a space battle game in either case, and they don't really have dedicated "onboard spaceship" battle maps. (Daedalus was just regular setups, as was Red Veil, vs intense hallway battles.)

Anyway, the point, if I had one, is that the name really won't mean very much for what the sectorial has. I assume it'll have a couple units unique to Starmada, but there's enough basic units missing that it'll probably be pretty generic. So thinking maybe Razor Unit (multiterrain), Cyberghosts, Crusher, who knows what else.

Epsilon are diolomatic/ambassador Corps, so on first glance they don't seem like a fit for Starmada.

I don't think the game has a distinct naval sectorial besides literally all Nomad sectorials, but there are several scattered units; Haidao are naval heavy infantry whos biggest defining feature is ZeroG and "light heavy" armour, Tian Gou are also some sort of naval unit and their defining feature I should say is 360 visor, Sekban for Haqq also have 360 visor, Knights of Santiago who besides being renowned for having the only HD+Tinbot combo so far also has 360 visor, Suryat are a naval unit that have been converted to jungle fighters, and there's the Rasail Boarding Teams who bring their own cover. Oh and Gao-Tarsos and Joan Mobility Armour.

Of note is that these are most of them roughly equivalent of coastal jägers, not sailors.

Besides a penchant for ZeroG, 360 seems to be the most common skill for naval units as well as having light-but-dense armour (aside from Suryats who are now wearing much lighter armour...). This does make Crushers stand out a bit as they're so far the first ones to not only be missing the light-heavy infantry stereotype but also eschew the 360 visor as well as go for generic mimetic forward deploying infantry. They're also the first naval unit with airborne deployment as far as I know, interestingly enough.

Naval can also mean marines, the Crushers are quite reminiscent of the Royal Marine Commandos or SeeBees.

It’s also worth remembering that “Armada” is the Spanish word for navy, so it fits well. Also, considering that the Circulars are under O-12 administration, doesn’t have to be strictly “naval” units. After all, how much difference might there be between a Circular cop and a Concilium cop?

Monstruckers maybe? Not as mercs, but as a more regular troop.

Else everything with the blue white and red color voice in their unit logos ?
    that would be
    crushers
    delta
    epsilon
    omega
    beta
    gamma

Costal jägers are amphibious ground infantry, Nordic equivalents of RMC or SEALS, although the latter has a bit of a reputation (and from what I hear it's not all flattering)

Edit: it's funny how the German equivalent is not a jäger as I'd expect, but a "kampfschwimmer" according to Wikipedia

Considering the nature of O-12 military's work in peacekeeping and conflict intervetion. I like framing them as a naval based force. Ment for rapid deployment to any developing hotzone anywhere in the Sphere.

I think the Epsilons are an ideal fit for this force. They are ment to carry out negotiations after ending hostilities between two other forces. Or provide the final warnings to the two sides prior to deployment.

Going off the assumption that the Blue, Red and White patches will be in their roster. (Which I'm crossing my fingers for) We got 3 medium infantry and 3 heavy infantry, and maybe 1 light infantry. So it looks like they could be built around using a core of hard hitting expensive units consisting of mobile MI and beat stick HI

Still curious if they'll keep Kappa's as line troops or get something new. Maybe a cheap MI.

I really like the idea of this sectorial taking a rwally heavy focus on medium and heavy infantry.

Also pretty sure the Zeta will be in here. Though I'm also hoping they'll either have a slightly different flavor of it, or maybe even a completely new tag as well.

A Sectorial Box of O12, with miniatures you could use on Code 1 is my bet, crushers, razor, lynx, psicops, cyberghost, to sell new models to new CodeOners (lynx is only for Defiance, not aviable for everybody)

Seems like a Blas De Lezo recreation as a LT on the field. ¡hell yeah!.

2 Lynxs options (plasma carabine + marskman rifle), Saladino O-12, Gamma HMG, 2 Delta (BSG+CombiFO) and... Katherine Cho, only in Defiance.

I'm expecting a lot of those in the Code One booster packs, personally I'd prefer to see more completely new units (like the Spiñal Corpse box was almost all new Tohaa troops) so it can be a box C1 players use to expand into N4, in addition to a standalone sectorial starter.

I'm cautiously optimistic that we'll see mostly new units. O-12 is not very fleshed out for a core faction and the Crushers being sort of slid in unannounced into CodeOne seems more like a concession that they'd need some Starmada units in CodeOne but they didn't want to elaborate on them to spoil the Starmada announcement hype. O-12 also had quite few releases for being a new faction, in my opinion, so to me this says they're saving "release slots" for Starmada so that the year doesn't get completely utterly dominated by O-12

I'm really hoping for bunch of new units, I'm expecting/hoping 3-4 new units not counting characters.

But on that note. If this is an action pack. Does that mean it will have 10 models in it? That would be awesome. My ideal contents would be.

    x3 new line unit.
x2-3 other profiles from already existing units (ie HMG Epsilon or maybe one of the Lynx profiles)
    x4-5 new unit models

O-12's Action Pack is already out. Remember that CodeOne is not meant to be the main line of Infinity releases and as far as has been communicated the Action Packs are CodeOne products.

On that note, I suspect what we'll see is a traditional sectorial release cycle which will start off with a Starter Pack and then that sectorial will occupy a release slot for each month of almost a year until people start gagging on it. However, considering that the info from Colbrook had very few other releases it's also possible this will do a USARF release which will mean a 300-point pack.
I note that Varangian whom are basically mercenaries but are not marked as such in the O-12 roster. It's not impossible that we'll see re-skinned Kappa (see Kaldström box), but at the same time I also seem to remember that Varangians were recruited from among primarily Ariadna veterans by O-12 in an effort to provide security in space blockade missions so it's possible that Varangians will provide the 3-dudesmen mook squad. Crushers seem like an obvious "skirmisher" for this box. This leaves the traditional point man (typically heavy infantry or larger) and the traditional ranged support weapon (typically a sniper or HMG).
3 completely new units out of 6 is as far as these things go, very common for sectorial starters. Winterfor had 3 new units, Invincibles had 3 new units, Varuna had 4 new units where the mooks were new, and White Banner had 2 new units. Having a starter box with mostly units already in use seem to be relegated to sectorials that are getting a refresher and even then they like to sneak in new units.
With that said, having only Crushers as Starmada representatives in CodeOne would be a bit low as far as tie-ins go, so I'm expecting at least one of the others from CodeOne to be represented as well - though probably not those with "Bureu Aegis" in their icon and probably not the crime units like Gangbusters or Betatroopers.

I'm just going off what was posted, and everything I've found labeled as 'Action Pack' have been bigger than the classic starter. So I really hope it'll be bigger 10 model box, but I assume it will likely only have 6.

You could be right about the Varangians in Starmada. I'm still hoping when they do eventually show up, they'll have a mixed O-12-Ariadnan aesthetic. And not just look like an up armored volunteer.
