    At the moment I'm painting Haqq too, I went with:
    beige/alabaster/grey sand for armour and cloth alike;
    Grey for the secondary color;
    Straps and bags olive green.

    Quite similar to the female version of https://human-sphere.com/index.php?title=Tuareg

    Hmmm maybe. I will try a test of white on a Ghulam to compare and put deliberation to rest soon.

    [IMG] Procrastinating on redoing Haqq by continuing Yu Jing. I'm pretty happy with them but I wish the orange OSL popped more. I'm using VMC Clear Orange...maybe I need a brighter one.

    Apply over white or something very light. And you can try the fluos Vallejo has spread over different ranges (VMC has some, others in VGC, IIRC), they will some extra punch alone or mixed with/layered over normal paints.

    All the orange bits (comlogs, eyes, tops of combi rifles, backs of calves). Right now its white, then Flat Orange glaze, then white for pinprick lights with glaze of Deep Yellow.

    as usual easy way is - get fluo paint
    but if you are for effect with a normal paint it must radiate to near by object and thiws usdualy looks like that source of light is near white and then farther it go saturation of colour increase but brightnes dims

    Yes absolutely. I think I'm doing that, I think my orange needs more yellow as a base. Flat Orange might be too dark for OSL. With very small things like eyes, I think the line under the eye on the helmet needs to sell it more because I can't get that gradation in such a small place.

    firy orange is a good one - you may always add white to it and it will be yellow when Flat yellow + white = offwhite

    20200519_140038.jpg Thanks.

    Here's a WIP on new Haqq colors. I am concerned the grey may be too pale and won't let OSL green appear well (see belly). Is this going in the right direction? I feel like I want something JSA or Tunguska adjacent. Thoughts?

    It might be the lighting in the photo, but I think the white parts are too white and the black parts are too black. There doesn't look like there's enough room for shading to illustrate the shapes and contours of the model.

    I think its lighting because the only white is the visor reflection. Blacks are unworked primer. I changed the pic.

    Belly shoud be darker then exposed part of white armout on his arm as it is in a place sess exposed to a direct light from above - it is on his belly and it is a place cavein so it shoud be darker so green light will pop up better - same go for whole mini - closer to the ground less light from above so darker (al tho in game comes reflected light from the ground but thsi si other topic )

    I think if you have a bit more shadowing it'll give you more room do have the OSL stand out and look dramatic.

    Maybe slightly too grey? The fact is, though, I still like this better than the purer white from before. The edge highlighting really shows off the shapes of the panels. If you either raise the tone of the grey just a little bit or make wider smoother blends (which also raises the average lightness of the panels) I think it would be perfect.

    To be fair, I liked more the first version.

    What happened to the previous colour scheme you made for Haqq?

    The first version being tan or pale gray?

    I just think the tan doesn't look that good unless its on a desert (or otherwise outdoor) base, and I really don't like the desert bases for Haqqislam.
