I'm finally getting around to playing Deus Ex human revolution. I got it not long after I bought my previous computer in 2011.

I think I'll be fine for games. I've got 9 years worth to catch up on.

For those interested, Gears of War 5 is free to play in Steam for this weekend.

Also, yesterday I completed the "Path of Pain" in Hollow Knight, and I'm very proud of myself XDDDD
    Awesome game, by the way.

What's people's thoughts on this? To me it looks like it'd be an interesting spin off.

Seems more limited in scope, an X-Com 2.5.

For 10 dollarydoos I don't mind if it's something shorter and more focused though, especially with Gears tactics out soon.

That looks really cool! Seems as though they went with a more static team of personalities rather than the randomly generated goons from the last one. Especially when a single KIA means mission failed. Could be wrong though.

So i got 13 H on my belt in XCom Chimena Squat
as usual Fraxis got no idea how to optymise engine - same as in X com 2 - set in GPU control panel same thinga as in X com 2 and works wonders
But how is the game :
There is plenty changes from X com 2 : first of all turn order is: "you go i go" unit by unit not full team turn - so they step away from Necromunda rules . other is Breach mechanic it is refined ambush - in my book it work far superior - it is at worst a half working ambush at best it is full surprise attack that always work not get fuck up by lvel geometry , random bug or random pod trigger.
combats scale - a lvl 3 encounter is big it can be as big as big maps in X com 2 but it will be interupted by 3 breaches (lvl 1 = 1 breach ) you kick the door and enter a "combat arena" instade of annoing setting overwatches - sending one dude to trigger a pod running back and mow down them with over watches - reans and repeat - for me is way more dynamic - way less empy time.
Squad - this time no random customisable dudes you get a rooster of pre defined characters with voice lines , story ect ( important thing if you go on high difficulty or impossible - skip tutorial - in tutorial you get a "canon" team a full story lime dialogues ect - but they are not optymised team for impossible dificulty - you need a special team as you will go Vs 3 factions and you select one after tutorial missions are done (there is like 3 ~5 of hem as there is plenty new mechanics ) and you would like to get a correct team vs them (one faction is psychers other is robotic and third got plenty of mutons - so you get the idea that full on psychers squad Vs robotic s caind of bad and team of engeners Vs mutons would just increse rage meters on them ;) )
Most things are refined and or simplicised - it is like X com Apocalipse - city map 9 sections and events - you decide what to took upon them - importand things - send ground squads and make coverage of all places ASAP (this is your income generator beside missions ans special assigments and a way to control xchaos and anarchy in qa city from a map lvl nit in missions )
Other new mechanic is Subdue - you are after all semi police force in this game and depending who it performs it is guarantied 2 up to 4 point of demage on enemy (may even go to 6 after some up grades) in mele ending in unc enemy instade of dead - and you whant them unc - depending on difficulty lvl unc enemys grants intel and on impossible lvl 1 unc = 20% on 20 p of intel so 5 unc - 100% on 20 intel - and you want all the intel in the game it is your way to pay for ground teams and on black market for far superior equipment then your current lvl
Team up grades - there is deffinithly this time a thout put in them you will recognize a said of tree made for cool and casual play and the other for impossible difficulty run where you want all encounters ending in 5 subdued and all of your team members as mutch un damaged as possible ( sleeper rounds, sleeper hold in meale , special psychic skill that make all influenced by sectoid go unc instade to dead as they get shooted to death , trainings that will make some of your team mates do matrix shit vs bullets and meles (viper can reach a 90 doge easy and go even higher )

    So is game fun ?
Yes it is i like it alot - story and whole atmosfer is way lighter then in main series - game is faster , - and activation order is new king
i would not call it X com 2.5
it is rather X com 3 a test run - ther is plenty new mechanic stepping away from Necromunda way of gameplay towards new more dynamic way opening a way to include missions like full stealth one aka "invisible inc " ones or a patrol ones and all that was impossible with old system of turns.
a Hipster and SJW thing - if you go with canon team this will be in game biggest hipster is a cover boy sectoid and SJW is Step Mother constant babling is this Asian chick medic and Cherub is a Colege fraternity dude - you can turn of tutorial get team select from whole rooster and select others , or get canon team and after you get first new member replace one from canon team with him - usualy cut chat in missions by 50% - select a convict or ex soldier (read there bio ) and you will get more "military" talking - select cheerlider and brace for impact (or turn off combat talking in menu )
is this worth a buy for 10 $ - i got a lot of fun - and i like new turn order way better then old one ( selecting breaching order set iniciative order of your team and selecting breaching spot let you select witch one get higher iniciative if you enter by more then one entrance - this is not explained best - and invest asap in breaching equipment up grades in the foundry ) - any way do not jump on impossible from start - play Tutorial missions *they and at selecting factions and then start new game and skip tutorial get team selection or just play and get full main story line between party and on other game play go impossible iron man whatever select different order to tackle factions and get different units in them (on normal Vs roboticks you may may not need An Ap ammo but on Impossible this will be priority - and it is cool to know this from normal or hard game play before jumping to impossible - beside Turn order meter is king and this must be learned before jumping on immposible.
So ye it is fun game :)

and you can caind of get Viper Whifu

The only thing killing me on XCOM:CS is the animation of the van leaving/entering the building... Dudes, I probably can draw each of its frame by hand from the top of my head. ._.
Only one animation for entering and one for leaving, that you get to see before and after each mission... pfewww booooooring after the first few runs.

Anyone else playing Endzone a World Apart?
Got the early access and its a nice mix of Fallout meets Anno.
You are building a settlement in a post nuclear war world which is an intersting change from the normal history or bright future setting of the Anno games.

Sounds interesting. Citybuilders are fun on their own but with a different theme and adjustments to basic gameplay they can be very much fun times

I'll keep an eye out for that when it hits Gold release. I hate paying for alpha builds cos I'm bored of them before they ever get done lol

I got a voucher, so it wasnt that bad to pay for early access. I am not a big vidogame player anymore. Just some stuff that itches me when i have time, like Fallout; Mass Effect or something like that, years after they had been released.
