What I'm missing the most about Meows is a sniper, tbh. Missiles just has too crummy rangebands for what's necessary to properly exploit the skill set.
Well, I'm hoping N4 will change them. I can't see any reason as to why the wouldn't let them be a core. In comparison to Rodok, they are just a bit better. But not by a significant amount. They have better weapons, BTS, and MSV1 for +1pt. on the basic trooper. Onyx Contact Force ────────────────────────────────────────────────── 5 RODOK Combi Rifle, 2 Light Shotguns / Pistol, Knife. Yeah, but as shown by the HMG vs AP Spitfire comparison, that's mostly due to the odd 2xLSG. I'd personally say it's a pretty damned even race between the two in N3 with Rodoks edging out ahead due to Core. Chain-Colts are kind of bad on expensive 1-wounders, but panzerfausts are great, though LSGs are a great asset and better than MULTI when you consider the price thereof. Rodoks definitely have the better SWC weapons and the EI KHD is better than the Meow KHD not only in performance due to being an EI device and having mines, but also because of price. So, yeah, fairly dead even but the Core is missing for Meows. I think both will become 4-4 in N4, at least Meows seem to be 4-4 according to previews.
It may be intentional that WB has a thematic lack of core fireteams and is built more around ambush and lone wolf units. I'm waiting to see how many more models pick up hidden deployment.
And how many will lose it. Some of current TO camo units could downgrade to -6 camo without HD. It will be interesting and I wonder if this will make a clear difference between HacTao, Swiss and Anathematic.
It probably is but ironically, even with wildcards, the two core teams WB are limiting. So far, the Shang Ji core is a no-go for me. Therefore no Jujak. Jujak are cool but i'll rarely use them if ever.
If Ye Mao become 4-4, that's an amazing Haris IMO. The 4-2 with FD1 is not that bad, but it does cost you 1 or 2 extra orders to move the specialist where you want it or to get into the nice rangeband for the guns. The thing that makes it most uncomfortable for me is that wildcards move faster, and that Haris seems like the obvious opportunity to take them.
Well yeah Shang Ji have issues that haven't been addressed still. Does appear like they're getting cheaper and becoming 6-2 move though so we'll see how that shakes out later.
Stats are probably set in stone for new units. I doubt we'll see changes there because there's no reason for them to not have released with them like the Jujak's move value. Skills on the other hand are possible to change as the whole system there is getting overhauled.
Screencap from 4Chan that @the huanglong posted during the early hype cycle is now defunct, but the Ye Mao could be seen in that photo to have 4-4 MOV in CodeOne, same as Nökken and Hundun. Hundun also has an official CodeOne stats image seen below with 4-4 MOV, and we also know that Orcs and Daofei will be 6-2 in CodeOne but are currently still 4-4, and they've basically stated that they're going to more individually optimise MI which I can only assume to mean they're going to make most of them 4-4. Honestly, I think the 6-2 MOV on Jujak is a mistake that they can't be arsed to fix.
This is kinda sad because now they are quite unique due to 6-2. When N4 hits there will be nothing setting them apart from basic HI
I have a feeling that if they are giving MI 4-4 move they will take away the Forward Deploy for MI in missions.
They have all but said they are removing it. That still doesn't mean it's guaranteed, but I'd be surprised if they didn't. Besides being Naffatun on crack, yeah they were always meant to be baseline HI I feel. Just means the Shang-Ji have to really get a leg up to be valuable besides hogging the only source of linked TacAware.
N4 is now starting to piss me off. Don't come out with stuff meant for that when we have almost half a year of N3 left!
CB had little choice. They had to release something big at adepticon and if N4 rules are not be complete until gencon, there was no chance to release kaldstrom alnogside new edition. And this gives you 2 options. Either you release any (if not well thought) rules for shiny, new models and give it to people to play for 4 months or you sell models with no purpose other than Code 1. My biggest concern is a possibility of majority of WBA rules staying unchanged with N4. We know (well Bostria said that so not know but rather hope for) about Hundun hidden deployment. There is also 6-2 movement on HI and don't get me wrong. It's an improvement but since probably every HI will get that and WBA is not HI-centric I don't consider it a buff to this particular sectorial. Buff to HI as a whole? Yes but not WB as a light skirmish force. Sorry for the digression. Any other changes are hidden. Yes crits. No info about new profiles, I doubt we will get any apart from shang ji rework. Seeing that hacker with a multi rifle doesn't give me any hope though. Bolt treatment is the best outcome that would not surprise me.
Goodness, that's a way to be disappointed before a game is released! Just pile on sad conjectures. Yup doing a fine job!
Are you sure it's the rules that are 5+ months away that's pissing you off and not that you're invested in a sectorial that has the dubious honour of being released close to it? CodeOne isn't N4, it's NewbieN4 meant to build expectations and ease the landing for N4. Winterfor and White Banner were both going to be a bit lacklustre regardless of CodeOne. From my experience, a game is always at its weakest the months before a new edition is released because the old rules feel irrelevant. Edit: I'm not saying your feelings are wrong, but that you may need to consciously redirect your expectations and thoughts to avoid trapping yourself in a downward spiral.
