Thanks mate! I usually paint white with this recipe: Light grey primer - Shade all over with GW Drakenhof Nightshade - Layer with 1:1 Mix of the shade and Vallejo Model Color White - Final highlights with VMC White.
It's been a while from the last update, since I've been posting my minis on the other thread, but I thought it would be nice to upload my most recently painted minis here, especially the Hollow men. It was a lot of fun with their Fireteam, so I thought it would be great to paint them as quickly as I can, and I'm pleased. Enjoy!
Oo and sorry I misread your comment, you were asking for the specific technique! If you mix VMC white and the shade, it will become very thin but also opaque. You can make some regular strokes, to the direction of the surface that reflects the light from above. You might get some visible streaks, but if you keep mixing up more VMC in the paint and making the strokes, it will soon disappear. And finally when you do edge highlights with pure white, you can pick up some visible streaks on the surface, not on the edges, to get some chipped effects. And that's it!
Finally I finished painting my Szalamandra, it took long but it was worth the time I think. Hope you like it!
Here's the Spektr I've converted and re-painted. This one is FastPainted(took about 10 hours), so maybe I should change the title sometimes lol
Another update! This time I've painted the Morlock from Bakunin starter pack. It was a lot of fun with NMMs.
@Ugin Everything looks great Ugin. Your skills are certainly impressive. I hope you are happy with the work that you accomplish.
Wassup everyone! I've been painting my second Szalamandra for the local painting contest, and been trying to keep my pace fast. I had an urge to paint blue, so I decided to set the color scheme more bluish. Looks like it's not that bad until now.
Looks great so far! Love your Nomads, in fact I've been inspired by your work to do them next. My covid lockdown project started a week ago with Tunguska Starter Set and Im trying to paint them as good as you ;-)
Wow, such a big pleasure to hear that! Thank you so much! Can't wait to see your crafts on Tunguska! Glad you like it Leeroy
It's been a while I've finished my entry to the local contest, and I'm slow to upload my work Anyway, Iwas a lot of fun with this blue-orange monster. Enjoy! Spoiler: Tap for the rest
Long time no update. I've got an urge to paint this new securitate this morning so I did, It took like 7 hours or so. It was quite fun to dilute the paint with airbrush thinner, but it also make the surface a bit glossy and uneven. Anyway, hope you all stay healthy in this pandemic
