Yeah and pretty much everyone will tell you that the non-neurocinetic missile launcher yan-huo is a useless profile, and it has nothing to do with whatever the boyg gets on top of it. Just so you know, I love using my linked zuyong ML in the active turn. It's quite good at making sure whatever you're shooting at won't just guts roll in total cover: if you hit, chances are the fucker's dead. Really, B2 BS16 ML is nothing to scoff at, but its active use is opportunistic, his primary role is still as an ARO piece. And this is where both the boyg and yan-huo ML fall short: Still opportunistic in the active, but doesn't make up for it in ARO. It's not a sidegrade, at all. Suddenly your "meh" unit becomes a dedicated ARO-unit, with a clear purpose: it's now a turret that throw missiles, you just stick it on a roof with a medic strap to its legs, and watch it suck-up orders 'till it dies or dive for cover like the WIP13 coward it is.
The biggest issue with the Boyg is that it competes with the KoJ w/ ML that is burst 2 and SSL 2 in a full fireteam. Which makes the KoJ the superior unit to use.
I mean, only if you ignore the cost of the fireteam. which if you dont bumps the KoJ cost by 20-40+ pts. given that puts it well over the boyg..... Boyg actually complements the KoJ ML in my opinion because it gives you a mobile active B2 ML and a secondary ARO ML.
True, though it's another example of a problem that plagues PanO for as long as I can remember; many units being fitted into narrow design space, and thus being very similar and competing for the same spot, with the most optimized winning 90% of the time and the rest having niche applications at best. It also makes for a rather dull gameplay. Boyg needs not as much a fix, as something to set him further apart from our other units, which would also give us a bigger toolbox to choose from.
You don't add the fire team cost to the KoJ, because you WILL have that fire team no matter what and the Knight can be part of it while the hunk of junk can not. Böyg is simply a really really bad option in Svala, but could be decent in Vanilla (if some one still plays vanilla for some reason). The only hope for this armour is some voodoo rules or special synergy in N4.

And you also make sure to remember that you have to drag those Fireteam members around to keep the KoJ in those sweet bonuses... beyond that, some folks like the Bøyg and will use him, others don't and won't, and talking about it as if there was certainty on either the "good" or "bad" sides is folly.

You do when you are relying on the bonuses afforded by the addition 20 to 40 pts you spent to argue that the boyg is no good. If you want to compare an unlinked KoJ to a Boyg by all means do that. But dont try and argue that your KoJ with additional investment is really actually superior for cheaper than a Boyg
The point is that you will have that 40pts in your list anyways (as order generators or as a defensive link or anything in between), so when you have that 40pts of Order "baggage" which is the better the KoJ who could synergise with it or the Boyg who can't (and costs 0,5SWC more)?
Hello, I think one question you are missing in your arguments. If you includes a Boyg, still you have to put in your list a Lt, most of them are "fireteam" option, so, if you are using "expensive troups" as a Boyg or a KoJ, the most probable choice will be a fusilier. So, it isn't weird that at least you includes some other for misdirection purpouses. So... Boyg ML 55 points + Lt Fusilier 10 = 65 points. KoJ ML 50 pints + Lt Fusilier 10 = 60 points. If we want B2 with the ML (in reactive or active turn, not only in active) we only have to add +10 points for other fusilier, so KoJ is only +5 points expensive than the Boyg. To me, the more viable boyg profile is the Mk12 0 swc, not because it will be superior to the KoJ spifire but because is some different and with a clear advantage: lower SWC cost and maybe we will want to play with a "cheaper" fireteam with a lot of expensive SWC weapons for some reason, and still we need a unit with more "durability". Maybe we want to play 200 points army and we have only 2 swc points. (0 | 3) 2 CAP | 200 Puntos Abrir en Infinity Army I think with the "boyg" happens in winterforce the same with the Ayar in hassasins, it is hard to find it a place having "asawiras", but, sometimes, when we play other point ranges like 200 or 400, profiles we don't find useful at the classic 300 points army, sudendly they have her "timing". To me the Ayar is a excelent troup in IL (classic 300) or for 200/400 points lists. So, maybe, at least, one boyg profile could be useful sometimes.
I could see the argument fot the 0SWC Boyg if Sval was a more SWC intensive army. When thinking about lists I run out of points a lot faster than I do without SWC, unlike with Acontacimento for example. Can't exactly say that seems like a particularly good investment because of it. If you spend 55 points on a model you most probably want to pump orders into it and not have it sit in the back. So having a KoJ, Buletter and an ORC HMG for example will leave enough SWC on the side for some additions like minelayers or a second Bulleteer, but when counting in all the necessary order generators and button pushers not much points to spare for another activive turn unit.
I think Sval is an expensive SWC army, as all Pano does. Still, running out of points befero SWC isn't a thing only of Sval but most of the "new armies". Still, I believe the Boyg Mk12 has is "place" in Sval list or even Vainilla. I heard a lot of players complaining about dazzers because is troups hadn't multiterrain, Boyg has it. Yes, probably if you go into a tournamente you will not include this guy, but if you are going to face "shasv" maybe he has a chance. I'am most of the opinion that Boyg is a step back in S5 HI desing instead a step forward. so I'am not trying to say that "boyg" is a really well done profile, but not all is bad.
