So let's say I have a hacker that uses White Noise through a repeater drone on one order. Next order, repeated drone goes into the White Noise and sits on its edge, close enough to not reveal itself out of the White Noise. Third order, hacker uses White Noise again through the repeater drone. Is this legit? If so, any MODs to the roll? My gut says yes, but my inner rules lawyer says, "Hell No EpicDiceFail!"
It is, but your hacker can only have one White noise at a time. (Due to feedback property) Completely legit and a good way to spend lots of orders
There is the Negative Feedback label on the program, meaning you can't have the same hacker mantaining 2 White noise programs at the same time (also remember the White noise template has to be INSIDE the Hacking Area). so you could, but the previous WN would go away.
The previous WN would go away but as it is the hacker who activates and not the REM, they can't shoot at the now visible REM.
Thanks Gents! Good to know I was thinking correctly. I Totally overlooked the Negative Feedback on WN.
Not that it matters, but your saying that the original WN zone would go away BEFORE the new one was established?
It was established before that when you have 2 NFB skills, the old one disapear at the start of the order in which you are using the new NFB skill because you can not have two NFB co-exist at the same time in a single Order (and everything in that Order is simultaneous). I suppose it would work the same when using the same NFB skill twice. edit: i guess as the new WN is only placed after the order is resolved (if that is the case), then removing the old WN when the order resolved could also work. So now i'm not sure which is which.
Irrelevant, the ARO goes against the Hacker and not the Remote, so as long as the hacker is in total cover from the enemy, no bullets will go against him XD
So WN works like this: Order 1: Custodier declares Move + White Noise. They lose the benefit of ODD for the entire order. The Custodier succeeds at their WIP roll, White Noise succeeds and a White Noise Zone is placed. Order 2A: Custodier Moves + White Noise. They lose the benefit of ODD for the entire order. The previous White Noise Zone is removed upon declaration of White Noise and has no effect on the order. The Custodier fails their WIP roll, White Noise fails and no White Noise Zone is placed. The Custodier regains the use of ODD on subsequent orders. Order 2B: Custodier Moves, a HD PH comes out and BS Attacks the Custodier, the Custodier BS Attacks back in desperation, but dies. The White Noise Zone remains in place until the end of the Turn; the Custodier wasn't allowed to benefit from ODD. Order 2A/2B are two variants of what happens during the second order, they're not sequential.
