The original packaging for Infinity TAGs was on 40mm bases. The 55s weren't added until the new Kasym and Kum bikers came out.
According to the wiki, Size 6 is 40mm base. That's all small TAGs and Dog Warriors. Size 7 is 55mm. http://wiki.infinitythegame.com/en/Volume_and_Silhouette_Templates
Overall I like the TAG. I will be putting on the table from time to time. I wish it was 6 - 6 Move though. It is Calvary after all. Even FD1, FD2, or Super Jump. Calvary unit's are known for their speed. Or, how about an even lighter equipped cheaper TAG with more profiles and a Harris option? CC 23 is screaming "I need MA 3". It feels like CB is just teasing us. CB says "Yu Jing is the Melee Faction" they said. "Kill everyone in melee they said"
Yeah, I consider it the greatest failing of the often-mocked points formula that Mimetism is so cheap for what it does that it feels like every unit in the game could have it added and be better off for it, no matter their role. My biggest wish for N4 is simply "massive Mimetism price hike". As for the Blue Wolf, I like its loadout. Spitfires are great after the initial risky AROs like a linked ML are gone, so if you can clear the way it will wreak havoc through the midfield or even into the enemy DZ. Also worth noting that Spitfire TAGs are very rare, so in most TAG duels the Blue Wolf can get close to force AROs on worse odds and land more of its own shots.
Don't want to be too much of a wiseass, but neither the seraph, nor the jotum are named after Cavalry units. Seraph is another word for angel, jotum clearly nods to jotun which were giants in Nordic mythology. I might be wrong as PanO has a lot of tags and I don't remember them all but I think it's the uhlan and dragoe that was named after a Cavalry unit. Back to topic: I hoped for a smaller cheaper TAG more like super, super heavy infantry so you might actually duo them to get a wolfpack. But when the sculpt gets anywhere near the guijia I might play it just because it is cool.
This was abouttheir full names Clausewitz UHLAN Dragoes, Acontecimento DRAGOONS Jotums, Svalarheima armoured CUIRASSIERS etc. These are all cavalry units from napoleonic era (dragoons can be debated but later they served mostly as heavy/line cav) Seraph is only armoured cavalry so not strictly named after any unit but still some kind of horseman and it's the same kind of name as Blue Wolf Mongol Cavalry
The Seraph is Armoured Cavalry (in its full name) and both the Cutter and the Tikbalangs are Chasseurs, while the Jotums are Cuirassiers. So, yeah, calling something Cavalry certainly doesn't mean it goes faster. That only happens when you paint it red.
It was used for both light infantry and light cavalry, admittedly. But it's more commonly used to refer to cavalry in historicals.
We've still got dragoons across the street from where I work and they're definitely mounted infantry and always have been. Light cavalry or light infantry trained for mobility. Which is why the MRRF version with the same name is a cavalry unit ;)
Thanks for the clarification. Maybe TAGs are just thought of as the Cavalry in the infinity universe just like today's mounted units are associated with tanks.
Thats because CB tends to give the Spitfire only TAGs (Ana and Seraph) an HMG option ... I don´t like that trend it is boring. So the BW is very unique with his B5 AP Spitfire. The only other Spitfire TAG is the Sphinx.
There is another, even with an AP Spitfire, but Tohaa shun their TAG something crazy. A Gorgos might actually be a real threat to the Blue Wolf between the shared rangebands, extra wound and Chaksa. The other TAG to be wary of is the Varuna Squalo, since if it can force a fight inside 8 it can use its Zapper to essentially trade with the equally valuable Blue Wolf you spent a lot of orders moving.
