Jujak could be a little spicier?

Hate to say it but the Jujak is still just a little bland, almost indistinguishable from the Zuyong to the left and the ShangJi to the right. Certainly no one looked at the designs before the profiles were released and suspected it was a budhet mobility troop.

    Some suggestions for N4:

    • Immunity: Fire
    • Vulkan Shotguns replace Boarding shotguns
    • Give them fireteam core and haris, and get rid of the below-the-profile link rules.

A side question: how about a comparison of Yu Jing HI units? Would you say same for Wu Ming but for ISS? I've only played vanilla so far and haven't had the chance to play IA or ISS sectorials yet.

It could have easily been a Zuyong (Huang Di Div) set of profiles, honestly. I like the aesthetic, but for a company who's struggling to deal with SKU bloat, having a fourth basic HI for YJ comes off as a pretty amateurish decision.

Wu Ming get some brownie points for their funkier equipment selection. They're also the coolest looking of the YJ basic HI.

Serve him with 고추장 (go chu jang). Boom! Blandness gone.

I'd guess that the unit is 4e ready, and it'll be the other Yu Jing units that change.

Since the company retired the original Invincible, Wu Ming are more distinct. I was sad to see them lose their grenades. Their link options are not messy like this. They are a very important set of profiles to Imperial service. A list built around a Wu Ming core is very different to a list built around a CG or Kuang Shi Core.

A list built around a Zhanshi core or Shang Ji core in WBA probably has a Shang Ji, a Tian Gou and Lei Gong no matter which it is.

What's with the Jujak BSG/Tinbot profile? Seems like it's supposed to be an engineer.

It's basically another repeat of the Wu Ming/Zuyong/Shang Ji Tinbot B profile.

Casually, I can't see much abusiveness come from Jujak being able to form Cores on their own. A Haris profile wouldn't be untoward and Shang-Ji to be regular Wildcard without one-per-link restriction would probably not do anything to shift balance, either.

Much agreed, I don't see a point to the restrictions at all. It's bloat. What a bad time to be introducing bloat.

Well lets wait for N4 additional rules. Right now I'm thinking about using Spitfirefireman as a solo flanker unit, at least he's better than Crane!

    No, it's this Tinbot profile:

    ==> JUJAK Boarding Shotgun, Panzerfaust + TinBot B (Deflector L2) / Pistol, CC Weapon. (0.5 | 39) <==
JUJAK Engineer Boarding Shotgun, Panzerfaust, D-Charges / Pistol, CC Weapon. (0 | 36)

It's 4 points more expensive than it should be and considering the equipment those 4 points ought to be the Engineer skill

KHD is cheaper than Engineer (edit: KHD would be nice on a native Tinbot, though more so for vanilla since Jujak aren't Wildcard)

You guys cannot claim to have played enough games with this guy to justify writing him off

MOV 6-2 HFTs with 2 W are generally pretty sweet, you should try em. Especially when they also have a Spitfire!

I don't think anyone is writing them off as being bad, but they are bland, especially come N4 when all HI seem to be getting 6-2 MOV. Considering the changes @the huanglong suggested being very mild (not even suggesting Mimetism!), that's hardly writing them off

I don't complain. They seem fun in shangji core/haris but have a major problem. If you want your tinbot, shangji comes with tacawa profile. If you want gunfigter it has to compete with Qiang Gao (here it can be argued but Qiang can be lt). HI eng? nah. I'd rather have goncheng with palbots or ye mao in haris. Missile launcher has the same problem as tinbot. They are this cheaper option you run either because you really want to have that hft in link team or you are short on points. It's good that they give you this option and are by no means a bad unit but there is nothing that really stands out that would convince me to include 3 of them in a link. 6-2 move doesn't count because most of HIs will get that in N4.

Jujak is objectively fine. No one's disparaging its performance. The problem is that it has very little reason to exist as its own distinct unit when CB is making such a big point about cutting unnecessary SKUs. It's a Zuyong with different loadout options, it could have easily just been a few WB specific profiles.

I played with this link out of curiosity and I love it:

    The White Banner Army
    ──────────────────────────────────────────────────
    [IMG]2
JUJAK Breaker Combi Rifle, Heavy Flamethrower + TinBot B (Deflector L2) / Pistol, CC Weapon. (0.5 | 38)
TIAN GǑU (1st Section) Hacker (Killer Hacking Device) Combi Rifle, Nanopulser / Pistol, CC Weapon. (0 | 23)
    0.5 SWC | 61 Points

I used it in a close quarter section of the table. The ability to tank a hit and use the HFT was nice. I'm planning to try this too if I don't need any specialists:

    The White Banner Army
    ──────────────────────────────────────────────────
    [IMG]2
JUJAK Spitfire, Heavy Flamethrower / Pistol, CC Weapon. (1.5 | 39)
TIAN GǑU (1st Section) Boarding Shotgun, Grenades, Jammer / Pistol, CC Weapon. (0 | 25)
    1.5 SWC | 64 Points

This is something only the Jujak can achieve. The LFT has not enough range to outrange mines or shotguns. The Tian Gou is very nice bonus.

Realistically I think the Jujaks exist purely because it was decided that Shang Ji were going to be a thing in white banner (why? who the hell knows), but Shang Ji struggle to be a viable core link on their own, so they needed a cheaper HI body to fill out their ranks. If CB put Zuyongs in to fill that role they run into the problem where they've now made Invincible Army again, except it's now able to take Daofei and a shitload of Guilangs and other camo stuff and AD troops that don't fucking suck ass.

So now we have Jujaks to fill that role instead to stop the Invincible Army overlap.
