agree with most of your run down but this. Svalarheima’s Winter Force ────────────────────────────────────────────────── 8 FUSILIER Combi Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 10) FUSILIER Combi Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 10) FUSILIER Lieutenant Combi Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 10) FUSILIER (Forward Observer, Deployable Repeater) Combi Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 12) KNIGHT OF JUSTICE Spitfire / Heavy Pistol, DA CC Weapon. (1.5 | 51) FUGAZI DRONBOT Flash Pulse, Sniffer / Electric Pulse. (0 | 8) FUGAZI DRONBOT Flash Pulse, Sniffer / Electric Pulse. (0 | 8) FUGAZI DRONBOT Flash Pulse, Sniffer / Electric Pulse. (0 | 8) 1.5 SWC | 117 Points Open in Infinity Army ~a full combat group for ~120 points is a pretty crazy bargain. This set up is going to be pretty standard for how I built my lists with this army. I can see myself swapping the KoJ for an ORC every so often. If I want to build an aggressive link ill take the KoJ, defensive ORC.
The fusilier link and fugazi are going to be essential to pushing orders. KoJ with fusilier support is bonkers good compared to the MO alternative. You could throw in a BS Sval orc to the link and not even bat an eye.
That was a close one ;P Ad rem: Well I must say that the biggest loser of SWF are ..... Nisses. Like their linking options are .... bad ? When you compare then to VIRD Kamaus, the nisse seems like ugly poor cousin. Extremaly limited number of SWF ORCs is also headscratcher. Boyg in N3 are ... welll technicly they are 0 SWC Spitifre, but for like 11 pts more than ORC HMG ? Oh, and S5 ^^ Infirmary is deader than BF MSR ^^ He is exactly between Trauma Doc and Hospitaller Doc, while having none of their strong points, but having all weaknesses and extraordinary (for a return) cost. In N3 it would appear that SWF might have troubles making up for their weaknesses (no camo, no AD). On the other hand, current MO is playing such game (but is carried on top of Santiago and Magisters arms), and SWF (compared to them) at least has some tricks and vertical mobility (C+, SJ). Another suprise is complete lack of Uhlan in SWF (or similar TAG).
I was about to post to touch on this. I just played a game with this list: Svalarheima’s Winter Force ────────────────────────────────────────────────── GROUP 1 10 ORC Feuerbach / Pistol, Knife. (2 | 42) QUINN Shock Marksman Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 23) FUSILIER Combi Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 10) FUSILIER Combi Rifle + Light Grenade Launcher / Pistol, Knife. (1 | 14) FUSILIER Paramedic (MediKit) Combi Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 12) FUSILIER Lieutenant Combi Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 10) TRAUMA-DOC Combi Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 14) PALBOT Electric Pulse. (0 | 3) NØKK (Minelayer) Combi Rifle, Light Shotgun, Antipersonnel Mines / Pistol, CC Weapon. (0.5 | 29) NØKK (Minelayer) Combi Rifle, Light Shotgun, Antipersonnel Mines / Pistol, CC Weapon. (0.5 | 29) NISSE Hacker (Hacking Device) Combi Rifle + Light Shotgun / Pistol, Knife. (0.5 | 38) GROUP 2 5 NISSE HMG / Pistol, Knife. (1.5 | 34) MAQUINISTA (WinterFor) (CH: Mimetism, Multiterrain) Combi Rifle, D-Charges / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 18) FUGAZI DRONBOT Flash Pulse, Sniffer / Electric Pulse. (0 | 8) FUGAZI DRONBOT Flash Pulse, Sniffer / Electric Pulse. (0 | 8) FUGAZI DRONBOT Flash Pulse, Sniffer / Electric Pulse. (0 | 8) 6 SWC | 300 Points Open in Infinity Army I played against my friend's onyx and won. anyway my biggest take away is im not sure any Nisse team is worth it. They're better off by themselves – the extra burst isn't worth the ~20-30 points you have to take on top of the engineer and HMG
It all seems like an uninspired afterthought to me sadly. The way stuff was dumped in MO with no link options was just laziness. Boyg is not going to do much, and the rest is decidedly "yeah, the usual pano" in my eyes. Meh, here's hoping this was just a slapped-together job as N4 invalidates it all soon anyway. Meanwhile Yu Jing get a cool tag concept and holoprojector, linkable jammers...
I will definitely buy Boyg miniatures. To throw mercilessly at people who claim that this game has anything like a fair point cost formula. Boyg seems especially silly if you compare him to Omega xD
Not to fan any flames but after sitting down with my friend on discord, reviewing every unit for several hours, I can't help but coming to the conclussion that Sval is one of the worst sectorials released for a long time. Perhaps N4 can come and rescue something but hot damn! :o
The sad part, to me personally, is that they've been throwing fuel on the fire for years about how these two Sectorials needed to come out together. That they would be similar power levels, etc, etc. It feels like the bones of something good are there, but there's no meat on it.
Everyone knows that the right time to make definitive judgments about new sectorial is right after they're released, in the midst of a worldwide pandemic, and where they almost certainly won't see any table time for weeks to come. C'mon, get on board, Chief!
Indeed! Because having played over several games and perhaps multiple factions doesn't give someone a way to consider what tends to work and what tends not to. Surely a group of people such as that would not be able to make any inferences or presumptions based on past experience!
Their complaints are probably different from mine. I'm having a hard time really making the 'theme' of WinterFor work. For me, my comment of "the bones of something good are there, but there's no meat on it" is referring to some of the newer units and the weird options. Two Feuerbachs on a Light Infantry(Karhu) or Boarding Shotgun with MSV(Nokken)...yet no Lieutenant options across the Karhu, Nokken, Boyg, or Vargar? And then there's the wonkiness of the Nisse Lieutenant having 1 SWC. I don't get why you might do that, and I probably never will. I'm happy with what looks like the dossiers and the look of the army. I just can't figure out how the hell to build it.
And on the other hand there are people still saying that the old Bolts were fine ^^ So yeah :D Not great, not terrible.
Yes, lets all make no comment until people play these sectorials in a few tournaments and then when Winter Force turns out to preform average at best if not below average, thats when we can start complaining. Got it. This sectorial is OK. Its certainly not a top tier sectorial nor does it have anything truly scary neither among units nor fireteams. One has to question, why not just play VIRD or Shock Army? Meanwhile white banner has some fire teams and new units to get excited about. Overall it seems more competitive than than the winter force.
I'm mean you cannot even claim that the N3 SWF was even considered a "true-well-thought sectorial" when you see the Hospitaller+Infirmary Harris situation. To take Infirmary Doctor to a Hospitaller Harris, you need to take Hospitaller Doctor with Harris skill xD
I guess your joking because I don't see how that is possible. Shock army is still the best balanced sectorial for Pano. And VIRD is pretty strong.
