To be fair, that's why the quoted thing says "weirdly enough". ;) There's two units that are known from the box art for PanO. It's the Vargar and Boyg soldier. Boyg Soldier is the large guy with the launcher, Vargar is the trenchcoated gunslinger. I'm thinking it might be possible that each side gets a single non-Code One unit, but more likely it will be a unit that needs to pad out the count for its missing profiles.
Well, I might misunderstood your post. ;) I agree with your opinion about the beyond box will not have a non-CodeOne unit. The only Winterfor left in CodeOne is Nisse?
1. it would make sense for there to be a non C1 mini in the "Beyond" box, they want to incentivize customers to expand into regular infinity. or 2. It's a new sculpt of a unit we've already had for awhile, ala the other beyond boxes. (PanO locust, Nisse, some other C1/sval thing)
I think it's likely that it will be a karhu profile of some sort and then a box of another 4 will come later.
Throwing this out there, but I could see that being a thing that irritates people immensely when getting into the game. They've branded the box as "Code One". You'll pay for the three models per side in the form of the pricetag on the box... And then they make it so one of the three for each side doesn't work in Code One? That's asking for trouble. I would lean towards the Locust if it's going to be a "new sculpt". Nisse have 6 profiles, currently. We have three available in model form(Multi Sniper Rifle, Combi Rifle+Light Shotgun Hacker, HMG) and three missing(standard CR+LSG model, Paramedic, Lt) of which only two might see models. Locust, on the other hand, are sitting with 5 profiles...and 1 model. Which is specifically the Hacker.
yeah, you're probably right. forgot these were branded as "CODE 1" products. depending on link teams it may be beneficial for another Nisse to be in the C1 beyond box. but my money is on locust aswell. Perhaps we'll get a better view on it tomorrow after seeing the full army builder
The Beyond Box is only showing two figures per faction on the cover. Maybe there going a new way and make the beyond box only four minis? It could be, that I missed something in the videos, but I think it is kinda new that the artwork only show four fighters.
As noted previously, the release schedule shown during last week's videos has 6 models in the Beyond box. Also, Kaldstrøm only had 2 models in the cover, but contains 14, it's just a new art style/branding.
I did see somewhere that on Mayacast they mentioned a Locust being the 3rd PanO model in the Beyond box, but I haven't listened to the newest episode yet.
I'd rather they waste their time doing that for Kickstarter or whatever. If people want to fund that shit there, that'd be great. Would rather have nice sculpts here in main-game land.
My guess is the action packs are the Operation + Beyond box for each faction, similar to the 300 pts army pack we have for MO and USAriadna right now. Also look at the didactically placed schematic of 10 trooper silhouettes inside the action packs ;-). The booster packs would then contain additional shooty guys or specialists that don't qualify as Support, REM or TAG. On topic: I'd rather keep the great looking Stingray TAGs than resculpt the Jotum. I am hesitant to buy a box without further knowledge about its future useability.
