Having 11 Zhanshi sculpts in the wild when players will never need more than four is a funny solution to the shelf space problem.
You'd think they'd make them AVA total just to sell them! Ya it's just weird.Same with Hac Tao but oh well. They have certainly made changes up to the last moment.
Looking at both new sectorials it seems logical that WBA has less link team possibilities. Just look at the amount of our solo operators. There are no known drop or camo units in SWF so they obviously fill those spots with linkable troops. I feel that this is what sets them apart the most and indicate WBA being solo dependant sectorial like ISS is (for me). Team is supporting, giving orders and protecting DZ while our ingiltrating and drop units take the fight to the opponent.
YJ also have Shaolin. PanO's order spam game kinda needs meatsheilds... Er, Fusiliers. But yeah, annoying how no sectorials have ava total of our line troops. Remember JSA had ava5 for Keisotsu at first until the "mistake" was corrected, though. Maybe this one will be changed eventually.
Not sure why there’re ironic quotation marks. Their AVA was total in the NA2 army and 5 in the JSA, this was a self evident mistake that was very quickly rectified.
The more I look at the list, i'm seeing a serious lack of a good cheap Lt. or Specialists. Only 1 doctor, 2 Eng (small victories). I really hope the new guys have some good ones and they make some changes to existing. ZHANSHI (Forward Observer) Combi Rifle / Pistol, Knife. @Space Ranger I totally understand. But there are a lot of variables to consider. The new profiles and pricing of those units we’ve seen are very limited. So even those are probably going to have specialist loadouts that we don’t know about yet. There also may be WB specific profiles added to existing units, like a guilang Lt option, that’s not 2 SWC? Who knows. And we have very little idea if any of what the other units not shown will be like. I don’t know about you guys, but I’m super hyped for seeing this army unlock and seeing what all these units look like! :D
From my experience the Guilang and Tiger Soldier specialists are excellent, being able to get where they need to quickly, having uncommonly high WIP and still being very good at gunfighting. Guilangs in particular are so good I can really see most WB lists starting with 2 Guilang Minelayers, 2 Guilang FOs in the same vein as most MRRF lists do with Chasseurs. Zhanshi are alright as budget LTs, but Yu Jing has always had some of the best elite active LTs in the game and I don't see the likes of the Daofei disappointing anyone in that regard. The big unknown right now is White Banner's defensive Hacking abilities, as it has several very good AHD platforms and a Nomad-tier DepRep option in the Guilang FO but seemingly no KHD capability or Upgrade programs.
I agree on LT choices (no way there is going to be anything as efficient as Daiyoing) but specialists? There is AVA4 Guilangs and Tigers, that already closes the need for buttonpushers. Interesting engineers in most factions are an exception, not the rule. And even in the LT department - Daofei LT+Hac Tao was a way to go in vanilla in pre-Daiyoing era, a decent Chain of Command can bring the synergy back. Lei Gong has CoC but that profile is not exactly the one you'd want (still a fast button pusher in a fireteam). WB is already better for LT choices than Corregidor for example - Zhanshis dont cost SWC and there is a Mobile Brigada analogue in Shang Ji for a sturdy LT against specfire abuse.
Regarding Lt choices it looks quite bleak tbh (not bad but also not broken tier Daoying), but for me the limit of core opener could pose some problem IF you make another list from Murder Monks Bomb. Only Zhanshis and Shang Jis for Core mean we could expect Haris-capped list of WBA full of Camos and Hundun. Oh wait that sounds fun
Don't you think Liang Kai could be Lt option for WB? Like, inspiring presence (Monk only) or something like that? What roles do you think the new profiles will have?
Well there are already a few character total wildcards to keep things diverse - Lei Gong, Qing Gao (LT2 could be viable with CoC and NCO outlet), the new one who I forgot the name of...
Well, they have Shang-Ji Tinbot and 4 Zhanshi HD as an option... but I'm wondering if Ye Mao are going to have cost-effective hacking and that's why they specifically set the wildcard rules up so that Shang-Ji and Ye Mao can't be wildcard in the same.
Those Guilang add up fast! I'm not too certain i'd take four Guilang but I'm more sure i'd not take 2 Daofei. The main Infinity Blog has a lot of fluff information on IMPERIAL AGENT ADIL MEHMUT. https://www.infinitythegame.com/blog/item/794-dire-foes-retaliation-infinity-codeone
Adil's fluff is kinda... let's say poor taste in the current climate. I'm not gonna grab a torch and pitch fork but I feel a bit greasy after reading that.
