Hit the "Quote" button in the individual posts you want to respond to. Then you get the option to insert quotes when you drop into the posting box. Not the same, but it does help
Totally get it. My gut reaction is to hit quote instead of reply. The extra three steps for a single quote is annoying.
Oh, it never works as intended. That's part of what would make it so interesting. Sent fra min Moto G (5) Plus via Tapatalk
So will Yu Jing get anything out of this development? Keisotsu were quite fundamental as cheerleaders and mine sweepers.
By the way, even if a full scale split happens I don't think there will be a clean cut. At least Remotes (mainly Rui Shi and Lu Duan) will stay available to both. ISS employs Ninjas and they (and in extention Oniwabans/Shinobu) are the most common JSA troop used in Vanilla. The're also fluff wise *non existent* and seem to be working directly under the judicary/imperial apparatus instead of the JSA. They're also a core element of YJ/ISS gameplay and would leave a very big hole. I'd say it is very likely YJ will keep access to at least some of their stealthy, stabby TO troops, while others will split off with the JSA (essentially being available to both with reduced AVA for the "loser"). Named Characters will be divided in between Factions and most are pretty clear cut. While Miayomoto Musashi will very likely go to JSA (and become Regular/ get a rework in the process) I'm not so sure about Shinobu, she might actually stay with Vanilla or even die in the rebellion and receive the Toni treatment - where Oniwabans get Smoke and a Combi Rifle Profile.
I highly doubt CB is gonna take the Jap profiles out of Yu Jing... Ko Dali is one thing, but this would make them lose quite a lot of clients and would be a bad precedent for folks buying their miniatures.
My guess is full cut but since JSA would be unaligned things like Ninjas and a few other profiles will be available in Vanilla YJ as any Merc would be and might even show up in other armies as well. We've seen with Druze how this can happen as they have pano remotes and can show up in Haq.
Plus CB is big enough of a company now with a large enough player base that they cant really get away with such massive game changing events unless they give compensation or make it optional.
Ninja will stay, it's the only Jap in the core rulebook and it's also in Red Veil. Safe bet the rest is history
If the JSA is moved en toto, it's still a sharpened and splintery stick up the ass for those Vanilla Yu Jing players who mix and match JSA units into their armies. They'll have to get more JSA to have a playable stand-alone JSA force, and possibly more Yu Jing too, in order to have a playable stand alone vanilla Yu Jing force. Keeping the JSA forces in Yu Jing, but moving the sectorial works. If you already play the sectorial, you have all the minis you need, and it matters not if it is under the Yu Jing or the Non-Aligned. If you mix and match in Vanilla Yu Jing, you would be able to continue doing so. The new JSA units can be sectorial only, because they are not yet available to Yu Jing anyway, and thus it will not be an unpleasant rectal experience for Yu Jing players. Adepticon, to refresh memories, is 22-25 March. I suspect that this box will be available for purchase there, and pre-order in the week or so before Adepticon.
This would be sensible, and easier to accept even if a few units disappeared from the Yu Jing roster (how would I ever survive without my Vanilla Kampetai though). That said, I'm pretty sure it's not what is happening. I'd like to know for sure before I throw down for any more JSA troops.
They didn't. One particular druze company got its own list. Why not? games companies do this all the time including that one company cough*squat*cough. Personally I like that this game constantly evolves for the sake of a story, and not just marketing telling the game designers which models sell the best.
Whether its a good marketing move or not, I've never gotten the impression CB gives that sort of thing top priority in their planning... if they're getting bored, they seem the sort to make a change to keep themselves interested in their work, if they see something that inspires them they'll go in that direction, their marketing manager having to catch up to them with sales spreadsheets to point them in the roughly 'right' direction. Which is why, looking at this, I dont see anything that would be off-limits. Stripping JSA out entirely, ninjas and all, is as much on the table as a character-reduced JSA in Yu Jing and an Ikari merc-rebel list of JSA units in Non-Aligned. In this most speculative of speculation threads, all doors are open! As someone who really liked the dynamic of Yu Jing and the struggles of Japan as a second-class polity therein, I'm personally not thrilled at where things seem to be headed... I'd much prefer to see a changed JSA within the StateEmpire and a separate force of Japanese rebels, sharing a lot of units between them, but the language and that leak make me think its going further than that (I know it cant possibly be true, but I'll keep pipe-dreaming that one of the new units will be the ISS-loyal equivalent to the Kempeitai, so the one army box will be usable as both loyalists and insurrectionists depending on which model you'd include). An aside on Ninjas, I can't find it but didn't early background material discuss the Ninja clans siding with Yu Jing after the takeover because the Japanese government had suppressed them since the Meiji era? Or is that just a justification which got into my head for why I could field them in a force that was thematically meant to be all Party loyalists...
