Yea, and technicly he is a better Nisse etc. (man it's so sad that such "great theoretical profile" is not used/usable much)
He's just too all over the place and as such too expensive for what he does. My pet idea would be to streamline his profile a bit and give him Haris.
When I first saw this guy I thought, why is there a Space Wolf on this forum. My second thought was, why is there an Ariadnan in Pano colors. He looks fantastic. He does not look Pano.
I mean... if that really is a trenchhammer we better see some rework for it or the Multi Rifle.... With the MR having a +3 ARO with DA Ammo, a Trenchhammer is just a DA CCW with charges for him... that's... extremely stupid if we actually want to streamline things in N4. Not concerned about the Space Wolf thing, if anything he looks very very similar to Ajax (down to the hammer actually). As usual I'd prefer to get an alternative head with a helmet but oh well. A good paintjob can fix a lot of things, a bad profile is doomed to proxy duty.
His roster shows the hammer as a "CCW", it's way smaller than the Ariadnan trenchhammers, has none of those "rocket boosters" instead of the claw, etc.
Making some assumptions, being at 2 CodeOne points with that kit might translate to 23-26pts in Infinity. That's reasonable by any stretch of the imagination.
On one hand competent enough in CC for it to be more than just a tax, on the other no way of starting closer to the enemy. Good shooter, C+ is a nice skill to have on many tables. He's a garbage can as many other newer characters, but definitely garbage can, not garbage cannot.
Climb+ might actually give him a legitimate threat vector for CC. It's fairly unique as far as CC units go. But as we've seen so far, still no smoke.
Climbing plus with three different attack modes (BS, direct template, Close Combat) for sub 30 points is notable. If he's strictly solo, I don't know. But if he has link or Haris options, I'll take a look.
Pano can into CC? He'll need a lot of work to get into CC without smoke or marker but as a rooftop assassin he might see some use.
With armor being useful again, PanO's smoke will be its TAGs. Move the TAG in the right position and use it as total cover for the CC specialists. Cutter and Jotumn will be great for this.
C+ is about exacly what he needed to make the Multirifle work. You don't want to be stuck with a SMG without a Marker state, and climbing a roof to face off against a Skirmisher isn't the best place for a HMG/Spitfire's Rangebands. Also confirmed to have neither CCW nor Trenchhammer but a proper DA CCW. Sub 30 for his kit with proper CC, PH14, DTW, Kinematika with Specialist as cherry on top - I can make that work.
More like "move the TAG to a good position and make the ARO trooper go away by means of superior firepower, then advance with your specialists" ;)
PanO is a bit like Major Winchester from M*A*S*H. Rich, stylish, snobbish, arrogant, pompous, does one thing at a time, does it very well, and then it moves on :P
Well, I like in him the fact that he doesn't rely on a FT to make him good. He has tools to deal with a lot of situations alone and this makes him a good unit for Vanilla. But I think that if you give him a link, he will be really destructive.
