Highly doubtable, with the Daofei und Jujak already being HI. More likely a MI like the Daoying, who has a similar backpack. And PanO just doesn't deserve a real camo skirmisher
The imperial service dire foes guy for yu jing (not the new guy) has the same backpack as hundun. Also the new dire foes pack yu jing character looks like a pheasent rank, whilst troll hunter has a Nokken backpack, so perhaps some clues to their battlefield roles.
I wouldn't read much into the presence of the backpack, as the design video made a mention of it being something that will be common to WinterFor stuff. Because apparently we need rollbars on our backpacks.
Daoying has the same backpack, but more armoured legs. Armour looks fairly similar to Zhanying, so I'm guessing we're looking at BS 12, ARM 2, BTS 3 or 6. Possibly Shock or Bio Immunity. Unfortunately Yu Jing never has helmets with tells like that. It's actually a bit weird how so many units have a unique helmets.
The Jotum gains a new action "Fastball", any Winterfor model with the "Brace" rule can be the target of the action and speculatively fired at the enemy.
The backpack used by Hundun is exactly the same as the one on the imperial service Xi Zhuang. The rails on the backpack appear to be used for madtraps. Lets see if my assumptions are correct :)
You might be correct, but CB has recently been recycling the unit design inside the factions. In case of Nomads, backpacks of Heckler, the Hollow Men, Perseus are recycled version of the backpack from Gecko Pilot. Similarly, the design of abdominal plates of typical Nomads' HI and TAGs, is also recycled on Perseus, the Hollow Men, and the Puppet Master. So sometimes, it is no use of assuming the profile of new unit out of its appearance, sadly.
Yeah...WinterFor is the PanO stuff. The 'rails' show up on the Nokken and Troll-Hunter. They have zero to do with the Yu Jing side of things.
They're storage points for weapons, nothing to do with mad traps. Look at the rear of the Guijia and the Wu Ming HRL sculpts for them in use.
He quoted one of my posts where I literally was explaining that one shouldn't read too much into the bracings on the backpack, since they're supposed to be a design cue for the PanO side of things.
Everyone is talking past each other re: backpacks and it's really awkward! I can't wait to see the beyond box and im hoping we get a taste of it at the end of the week as part of the bostria videos. Would be interesting to know if they will feature 2 units each side now as per the cover art, my reason for this theory is that there is a hero pack blister planned for all 4 code one factions, and I presume this will be repacks of sheskiin and cuervo, so maybe the 2 other factions will get new heroes this way. as opposed to the previous couple of operations which had heroes in the beyond boxes
There's still 3 models each side in the Beyond box (the graphic for C1 releases shows 6 models in it). And the models from the existing beyond boxes will be repacked with the existing starter sets to make 10 model packs for the Code One armies (so Sheskiin and Cuervo will be in there). The new hero blisters could be the other variant of Sheskiin and Saladin, from Defiance.
That's plausible for O12 and CA as it stands. Would be a bit trickier with Coldfront, which presumably will be getting this treatment rather than going oop entirely, but Coldfront may just be action packs rather than the huge wave the other four are getting. Because after all, Ariadna cannot into TAG. ... Does mean that the next pack might be Nomad/Haqq and that's going to feel weird Surely he's in the new dire foes if he's getting redone?
Already thought the same. Nomads vs. Haqq doesn't make sense. Nomads vs. Aleph on the other hand ... where is our PONY? Possible. Or it's a new Dire Foe Spec Op. We'll see.
Vassily has a T2 Marksman and T2 Sniper profile, so it's fairly possible. Admittedly, ALEPH would get left out since Shakti has just the one profile but Andromeda goes along with the theme and does have a second profile.
