So I've been a really long time lurker, and finally decided to dip my toes into the Infinity world and game with ALEPH. I got really lucky and got a great deal on a bundle, so my question is this. What do I need to add? Hello and welcome here You have a good basis for both vanilla Aleph and sectorial Steel Phalanx. Xagroth did a nice post here, covering both: https://forum.corvusbelli.com/threads/getting-started.1604/#post-23810 You should also consider: what miniatures did you really like ? You can play nearly anything (some like Penthesilea or Andromeda may be a little tricky to use, but they are still perfectly viable), so don't hesitate to buy some minis on feeling alone. Posthumans, dasyus, nagas, Patroclus, Achilles V1, danavas, lamedh and daikinis are models I wouldn’t do without.
Support Pack..., I play nearly one year now. You can play every Miniature. I suggest: make a few games (maybe prox and Test Units) and see what you would like to Play.
You will have a long battle ahead... but choose now: the sweet promise of Vedic, with tons of tricks, or the simple pleasure of the Greek Phalanx, made to assault and shine in small (10-14) models. What you have is mostly for the Phalanx, however. If you wanna go that route, your best inversion will be the 300pst Army box. The Rebots and Probots (I prefer the Kameel from Haqquislam, they are more "spidery" than the Probots) are also a Must, and you can finish, if you want, with the Thorakitai box. As for Thrasimedes, either find a nomad player to share the Dire Foes box, or use the Rocket Launcher Thorakite as a proxy (from the SP starter box, the one with Eudoros). If you wanna go Generic, you will need to buy almost anything, starting with the Starter box because the Dakinis are nearly a Must Have, followed by the support pack. I loathe to suggest this, since looking at the new Garudas the Dakini will be resculpted soon, but... After those two boxes, it's Posthumans and blisters. And specially the Danavas! Bear in mind that acquiring the Steel Phalanx Army Box will give you a second Agema Sniper and Myrmidon Spitfire. While you could find use for them, they are not hard to exchange with other Aleph players, since they are a little situational, and a lot of people tend to use the four Myrmidons from the box and the hacker from the starter, but would not be adverse to exchange those two with other miniatures you want (so for example, they buy Teucer in the shop and change it to you for the agema sniper).
Welcome to the game! My advise: 1) Play around with the Army Builder and find an army that looks good to you! 2) Post the list here on the forum and ask the more experienced players to comment on the list and modify the list to make it more efficient. Feel free to ask about reasons and strategy, too! 3) Proxy the list! 4) Play a few games! 5) Based on your experience, you should reconstruct the list. Every player has his own style and many players fare pretty well with lists many other player would consider inefficient (if playable at all)... 6) Go shopping! (My condolences to your vallet...) 7) Paint 'em up! 8) Buy other troopers you like (mostly based on looks and sometimes on game mechanics)!
