GenCon is not going to be cancelled. CoVid-19 will be tamed or dormant by then. Adepticon is as good as cancelled at this point. Even if it goes forward, it will be sparsely attended. The Fanatic Peat needs to start with the "Rabble, Rabble" now to get Bostria to make a seminar video if he has not already made one. As a life long Capitals fan, I want to downvote you for this. Boo, Penguins! Go Caps! It was so satisfying to see the Caps finally win the Cup too. And the 'Nats win the World Series. The Wizards, meh, and the Washington NFL team can go die in a hole, preferably one filled with something flammable and already ignited. Such a nasty bunch running the team.
Do we know how that plays vs Code One release, online Kaldstrom + Dire Foes + any limited mini purchases, etc? Will that delay any of the releases or is CB ready to release on schedule, just promoting it online instead?
It’s nearly midnight in Spain. You’re going to have to wait a few hours before CB staff even find out.
Logical decision I'll say. Its highly infective disease, so cancelling such event is bitter but acceptable.
Well, yeah, I thought there were already plans set for the eventual cancellation and you might know :) Gotta wait and see then, no worries. Hope everything will be available online / for preorder from FLGS as usual and that it won't affect the release :)
I’d lay heavy money that they’re already writing the replacement seminar video. Of course, means we all get it at the same time.
I wouldn't be making bets against GenCon also going down the tubes. This thing has a lot of life left before we are anywhere near managing it well. But, first things first, with Adepticon down how can we all help CB make up for that hit?
People will buy the stuff anyway, Adepticon or not. This also saves CB a lot of working hours preparing, travelling, paying for acommodation etc. Not sure if it's necessarily a net loss for them.
I'm actually more worried about the smaller fish in the industry. Those companies that need events like adepticon to get eyes on their products, because this cancellation could seriously hurt them.
No, not a small fish at all. They are very much global these days. Check out this article, https://www.diariodepontevedra.es/a...n-miniaturas-mundo/202002121324511073091.html if you can read Spanish, the money quote, "Belen Moreno destaca que es la tercera empresa con más relevancia del sector a nivel mundial" (very rough translation) CB is number three in the world for miniatures. It's very much a pride in our local business sort of article that one finds in community newspapers, at least here in the USA... and apparently in Spain. Ah, 70% of their sales are in the USA. Surprising. I would have thought Europe would be larger than ~30% (at most)
Adepticon 2020 has been canceled, therefore, this year we will not be able to attend as we plan. Even so, we will keep the communication schedule. The pre-order will start on Monday 16th and, on March 27th we will publish the video of the Adepticon Seminar that we had planned for.
I fear its only a beginning. What if we cant recieve Kaldstrom due to virus? It would feel pretty bad..
It would be, but it this is just a game and not a big issue for me. Time to work on the existing "Pile of Shame".
