So many goodies in Ghost in the Shell. Looking forward to Alita as well. GUNNM(the manga its based on) is also a good source of inspiration. We already already have Ido's rocket hammer on Ajax and stuff. I'd love to see WB troops on rollerblades.
Re-asking a question I posted earlier in the thread as it stills bugs me : Since Yu-jing has access to ALEPH bots & sophotec, couldn't we get access to the Su-Jian ? Though it IS an imperial service weapon after all.... I don't know what is the lore reasoning for Yu-Jing having sophotecs & bots and if the other way around would make sense.
Truth is that all the things Aleph currently use is not really built by 'Aleph companies' but by companies from the Human Sphere in exchange for premium access and services to Aleph and its whole 'info-network'. So that's why Aleph sometimes lends its toys to other factions as a gesture of good will. And that's also why other factions won't usually lend anything to Aleph, as they have already built things for them. Also the lore suggests that Aleph itself might be working on its own secret designs, but we all know this is nothing but Black Propaganda from the Nomad Nation... right?
The SSS of aleph IS verdic i believe. This is under the direct control of aleph itself and is used to counter other ai's in the human sphere, ensure its network is protected from terrorists (read nomads and arachenet) and secretly to be the black ops that aleph desires. It doesn't make sense to involve other human faction models as there is no complete control over the agents to ensure secrecy that aleph would demand. And the su jian going back to yu jing with knowledge that aleph is working independently of 0-12 and doing illegal stuff would be devastating to alephs desired image.
I Thing Aleph should have a unit with impersonation plus (Like a Security Agent). IT could be a 40pts peace with good Stats/Equipment (maybe weak CC) since we dont have so much in that point Range.
My guess (based on two other bits of information) is Vedic is the May N and Tunguska is probably November Aleph has been stated as not being in a two player starter by interruptor (head honcho of CB) because it's not part of the Core rulebook. So it's unlikely to be in the Gencon slot. At Cancon/LVO Tunguska were reported to still need a lot of work - so it's likely to be at the end of the year and therefore Vedic is in the May Slot :)
I think the leak only gave us info that should have gone out a week or two from now (max) so nothing to worry regarding vedic timetable
Was about to say I even think the JSA event would occur before Vedic being shown. As I said in the speculation thread, it may have been said in the past (about a year ago I was told) still does not mean CB can't change its mind. Also, I do think ALEPH would make a good candidate for a 2player box army. I could be mistaken, but considering a lot of Infinity's ressources are online, I don't think "it's not in the rule book you see" is a very good argument to completely dismiss ALEPH.
18 months ago, You are right, they can change their mind. But the original thinking was seems sensible - they have a core book, and wanted players who weren't online (Ie store sales) to be able to grab a rulebook and twoplayer starter and go with it. That just can't happen with Aleph as you would need Human Sphere as well. Also, look at the latest dire foes box - combined vs Ariadna... a pairing that is in the core rulebook that doesn't have a two player starter for either faction... I wonder if that might tell of the future ;)
Unlikely, there's a plan and a reason for that plan. Something appearing one week early is annoying, but not likely to change schedules.
Vedic sectorial wasn't really "confirmed". I've been on that Satellite too. All what we've got - just a solid hint, when slides on presentation were rolled back to the image of Garuda and Irmandinho, when someone from the hall asked that question about Vedic.
in the cancon video bostria reads out a question asking if Vedic will be released this year, he gives a non committal answer about them, varuna and Tunguska being released this year and a big YES appears on the screen.
Another discussion gave me the idea but what would you think if Vedic received an improved netrod ? We keep the standard 4 points netrod, add a 6/7 points netrod with repeater and a 10 point netrod with some kind of weapon (BS10 and TR combi for example). It would still be vulnerable enough that it won't be OP but it could add some interesting mechanics
Unless they share AVA, broken as hell... first, the 10 pts one would need a 360ยบ visor, and it would be akin to a turret... and a BS10-11 Netrod in the midfield or the sides (think Engineering Deck and other missions that state "place your AI Beacons on the sides of your deployment zone") would mean not only a great cheerleader, but also an impressive flank keeper or a midfield rock (coordinated order: all Netrods in Suppressive Fire... That's a -6 straight to the enemy, from FS and cover). And second, the Repeater carrying Netrod is like free objective points when it comes to hack, too big a can of worms for my taste.
