At launch and as a bare minimum. CodeOne is only going to be 4 factions at time of N4 launch, so no, that's not an alternative. It is very likely that there's going to be three more sectorials in excess of that (Huang Di, Svalarheima, and most likely O-12's first sectorial). All other sectorials are just specialised ways of playing vanilla factions, JSA is the only sectorial with a unique roster, so they can wait without compromising the game. (This is assuming Tohaa survives).
Nothing new here. CB (or someone from the staff) makes an statement, and time later that statement is not true anymore. That has happened since N1, and will continue happening. And the same way, it appear first comments disagreeing with CB, and then people deffending whatever CB decides to do. We knew that not all of the N3 units will make it to N4, some of those will dissapear. But also that all units would be playable on day1 (I see a contradiction here). Also we knew that C1 will be a 4-vainilla faction game for at least one year, and that then, the others will be coming little by little, but maybe just one per year, or all the remaining ones at once, or maybe they will never get to C1, we just don't have info. CB was very communicative at the beggining, and I think they still try it, but their way at the moment is somewhat untrustworthy.
If you wish to accuse me of something, say it clearly instead of this insinuation - or better yet don't because we have more than enough whining and personal attacks in this thread already. I play a hell of a lot more ISS, Dahshat and IA than JSA, and I would not mind if those three got delayed if necessary, provided all units are available to vanilla. And yes, it is an absolutely objective statement that JSA is the only sectorial with a large number of unique units.
At the beginning of N3 there was a delay and overlap in profile updates. It was fine. It was resolved in a few months and afterwards everyone forgot about it. The world turned on.
having 1 year of no new releases for most of the factions... seems not a good marketing idea to me. If that were to happen, I would be out of the game, I don't want to buy more factions so I could play yes and not, some profiles remained untouched for years
You play JSA and want that JSA will be avaiable at lauch of N4, I think this is natural. Like you, the Tohaa player wants to play Tohaa at the launch of N4. Like you, the players of sectorials only wants to play his sectorial from the launch of the N4. CB (and some users here) it is discriminating players according to the faction they play, it's a terribile things for a game. I think that if CB haven't time for to make playable all the factions and sectorials it should simply postpone the launch of n4, and to allow all players (and therefore customers) to play in the same way.
Stop being obstinate. Quotation marks are not used solely for verbatim quotes, they are also used for paraphrases and even simply marking verbal expression in a larger block of text.
You're misrepresenting me something fierce here and I think you're misrepresenting the game and the player base as well. Just as a way of illustrating how far off the mark you are with JSA; I haven't assembled the Daiyokai and Tanko (which I consider a core unit for JSA) remain unpurchased and almost all my miniatures need a nail polish remover bath because they are the wrong colours due to Uprising. That's how much I am playing JSA, but I know there are a lot of people who do and I do not think they should be forced to play their JSA using them as proxies for another faction. As for delaying; no, just no, they can't postpone N4 now. Covid-19 may be causing significant delays in testing and development process should staff catch it and a likely global economic slow down as a result of the same disease may interfere as well, but they can't back down on the N4 release now, as long as the bare minimum is achievable. Unfortunately for the few people unwilling to play vanilla, I don't think many would sympathise with the idea that sectorials are part of the bare minimum if push came to shove. We still have some units untouched, I think. Units don't need to be updated for the sake of updating, but if the preconditions for them change, such as CC value getting re-evaluated going from N2 to N3, then units gets updated.
Because you have a lot of factions, but for the player that have only JSA for example, do not make his faction/sectorial playable at the launch it would mean you can't play to infinity.
for example securitates remained with N2 profile and cost until TJC came out. I supose there would be other units with that same problem, but thinking that all was revised only months after the release is true for most of them, but not true for all units in the game. And we know that some units will not make it to N4, so don't expect for all units review
Yes... that's what I wrote? Are you arguing with me just to vent at someone? I literally wrote that having JSA available would constitute what I consider a bare minimum because of this reason. OSS, IA, Bakunin can all wait, but Ryuken-9 and Domaru only exist in JSA and if there's one place for Kidobutai, Daiyokai and Karakuri, it's JSA. I can't say I need AVA 4 Zhencha in YJ, and I can't think anyone need all that many Shukra in Aleph, nor that Riot Grrl links particularly sell Nomads on the other hand. Besides, you know...
Bolts waited more? they got revised 3 at least times this edition, even if they were released in late n2 with an n3 profile and costs. Their last revision, a point discount for who know why when CB tweacked total inmunity. Is not the same case as a n1 unit that was almost untouched in n2, and completelly untouched in half n3.
I don't remember they received that much updates. I began just few months before HSN3 and I hadn't seen any change since this day until Daedalus Fall in their costing.
they got the standard point revision in n3 (as anyone else even if they were with n3 points when they were released) going to par with wildcats (a bit more expensive because LSG and their skills beign better), they got new profiles with their sectorial (and the point reduction to combi+LSG that was applied to some other units), and lastly they got the new reduction point for no reason (it has to be to veteran or to bioinmunity, but only for them, no other unit in the game with those habilities got a point change at that moment, and the discount was applied to all profiles) making them "cheaper" than wildcats (yes, the combi+lsg is still more expensive, because that weapon combination is more expensive than combi+ft, but spitfire is the same, jet the bolt is cheaper).
I'm only writing my opinion. This is what I don't wont to share. Why JSA yes and the others not. If a player have only the models for play USariadna, CHA,OSS, Shasvastii can't play the vanilla army without buy many others models, so it is like a JSA player that without JSA playable it's forced to buy others model for play.
This seems like another dumpster fire thread that could be prevented by CB not being fuck awful at communicating information.
If there is no rules for StarCo but there are for nomads, I can play most of my StarCo models in there. The same for almost all sectorials out there, but not valid for JSA or spiral (I highly doubt there will be tohaa in N4) because their models are mostly unique to them
