with any luck they'll remove that profile and add the tinbot to the MR+LFT profiles.

It's something discussed and that was generally the consensus. Something to revisit in N4.

Which is why adding it to the Lt or Hacker would be excellent. They're both something you want to bring anyway: the Hacker becomes an alternative to Jazz (28pts for privilege is steep, but certainly an option if you want a tough Specialist) and it's only a 3pt/0.5SWC tax on the Lt for missions where you want a tough Lt.

Bolts, ZY and Hollowmen display this design philosophy: the Haris, Tinbot etc profiles aren't 'filler' profiles but rather being something to table. It's a large part of what makes those links decent in late-N3.

I'm disappointed that Tinbots only appear on HI: with widespread Hacking I'd like to seem them proliferated more widely.

Yeah I have Wildcats and KTS in my bag, there's a noticeable difference when the skeleton of the Haris has another free model and costs 1 SWC less. Corregidor has a lot of builds that could be unlocked with a few small changes.

Do it in StarCo style, use a Brigada Link and fill it with Jazz and Lupe:

    Jurisdictional Command of Corregidor

    JAZZ FTO undefined. (0.5 | 18)

This is really neat. I haven't gone back to Corregidor since they got a pass and I didn't realize all the new link options they had. I was kind of miffed when StarCo came out that they could do a Brigada link better than Corregidor but I guess that's no longer true.

In the interest of saving some points on this beefcake core, let me take it one step farther. I think the Tsyklon would synergize with this link really well with the ability to pitch repeaters to extend Jazz's reach on burst 2, as well as provide some discouragement to advance on the fireteam.

As a side note, it would be nice if the list of fireteams would be updated to include Jazz as a special character, and whoever else everyone got from Defiance.

You can go even further saving pts than that using the 'Special Fireteam: Core. Up to 2 Brigadas and up to 3 Alguaciles:

    Jurisdictional Command of Corregidor
    ──────────────────────────────────────────────────
    [IMG]5
    MOBILE BRIGADA Combi Rifle + 1 TinBot B (Deflector L2) / Pistol, Knife. (0.5 | 37)

    DAKTARI Combi Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 14)
ALGUACIL (Forward Observer, Deployable Repeater) Combi Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 12)
    2 SWC | 115 Points

The Tsyklon counts as a Brigada and the non Brigadas can all be there in place of or as Alguaciles. Also I don't think you need the Brigada HMG bc the Tsyklon is rock solid in both attack and defence, epecially supportwared from Jazz. Add a clockmaker and it's quite durable and reliable.

Personally I run Tsyklon, Daktari, 3x Basic or FO Alguaciles a bit and that works pretty efficiently. Dont really want Jazz in that link partly because activating the whole fireteam when I want her to put supportware on the Tsyklon can be inconvenient. Also Billie is too good to miss for 6pts!

Yeah, that's a bit of a problem with a master document that isn't updated. I hope in N4 they just have Wildcards and 'counts as' to simplify mixed fireteams a little, and you the rules are fully understandable and correct in Army.

Also being able to filter by Wilcard, or just what can be in a certain fireteam would be nice.

Well, I value a smoke tosser (Lupe) more than a Doctor, especially if you put the Tsyklon in the Link (I'd assume a Tomcat might arrive fast enough at the Link if something happens midfield...). Also I prefer 2 Wounds on S2 with a bit more ARM way more than that fat bulltet magnet of a remote; the Brigada can possibly shoot on BS 22 within 8" which makes the Brigada a very good close range shield as well as a formidable roomsweeper. Sure, the Feuerbach is a really neat weapon - but again on the wrong platform.

This is now completely off topic, but if I was running a Special MB Fireteam I think you're better off running a MB ARO piece and a Tsyklon B4 gun. I'm loving the Tsyklon Feurbach in Alg Cores, but if I'm willing to pay for a MB SWC weapon then I get a lot out of having a 2W ARM4 ARO with a Dr close to it.

    So:
    Jurisdictional Command of Corregidor
    ──────────────────────────────────────────────────

    [IMG]7
    TOMCAT Engineer Combi Rifle + Light Flamethrower, D-Charges + 1 Zondcat / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 26)
    [IMG] ZONDCAT Electric Pulse. (4)
    TSYKLON Spitfire, Pitcher / Electric Pulse. (1 | 31)
LUPE BALBOA Combi Rifle, Nanopulser, Panzerfaust, Smoke Grenades / Pistol, CCW. (0 | 23)
    DAKTARI Combi Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 14)
    JAZZ FTO . (0.5 | 18)
[IMG] JAZZ Hacker Submachine Gun, Pitcher, Cybermine / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 18)
    MOBILE BRIGADA Combi Rifle + 1 TinBot B (Deflector L2) / Pistol, Knife. (0.5 | 37)
MOBILE BRIGADA Missile Launcher / Pistol, Knife. (2 | 40)

This allows you to leave the MB ML behind as an ARO piece when you advance the core. First, this makes positioning it for ARO easier as you don't need to worry so much about whether it can advance from that position and, second, as an unlinked ARO the MB ML outperforms the Feurbach Tysklon; particularly if you're Supportwaring the Spitfire instead.

Although, that being said. I probably don't bother with either of those and just run 2 Tysklons and an EVO over the Tinbot MB. Unless you're order constrained, or need 2W troops I think you get more value from the EVO. The Tinbot does admittedly make a good Datatracker for Acquisition in a 2 Tsyklon, Wildcards + Tinbot '6-person fireteam'. This is particularly true if Spec Ops are allowed, where a Vortex Engineer gives you all the specialists in the core.

Giving the tinbot any specialist type would make it solid in the duo for certain missions. If Brigada had a duo profile I would probably find a use for them. Especially if it was on a good profile like MR or HMG.

Tinbot on the HMG would annoy me. I mean it'd be good, but it'd just make the gun profile better. That is not the Nomad way.

The MB Hacker I like for a Tinbot as it makes that profile actually usable again, and usable in Vanilla while leaning into the Nomad Hacking game: Nomads used to have the best HI hacker, it's one of the things that made early N3 Pain Trains interesting. I'd honestly consider giving the MB Hacker a HD+ and Tinbot: 46pts for access to White Noise (on 13s) means that you don't take it flippantly, and it'd just bring the MB Hacker on par with other HI Hackers (looks meaningfully at the core-linked Haidao and Santiago).

Equally, I like the Tinbot on the MR+LFT profile. It's such a great profile that often just doesn't bring quite enough to the table (it's Billy or a Zondbot + Warcor). Giving it to a Lt eases the "how do I get an Lt into my MB Core?" problem, while also making the Lt a great profile for missions like Aquisition (Lt as DT with Jazz in a defensive core that advances on the button T3). At 42pts it hardly solves CJC Lt issues, but it does make it just that little bit easier to list build.

On topic, I'd like to see a Bakunin only Tinbot (A or B) on the Healer (or a Duo + Tinbot option so it's usable in Vanilla). This would go a long way to helping Custodiers. Even if you weren't taking the full Haris, you'd be able to take a Healer + Custodier Lt "Duo". Suckerpunch + Tinbot would change the survival calculus vs KHDs a lot. If you did that as well as allowing Moiras to join the Haris then either the MSR or HMG becomes a good third choice for a defensive or offensive focus, respectively.

Equally I'd like to see a AHD, Haris, Tinbot A profile for Wildcats. This would be superb if Tsyklons became "counts as Wildcats" rather than effectively the "up to 2 counts as Algs" we have now. But even without that, combining the AHD and Haris makes it that much easier to get the Haris onto the table while emphasising Nomads as Hackers.

I meant Duo. The hacker with Duo would stink without the tinbot. Or they could change the balance of hacking in N4 instead of having every hacker protected by a tinbot, which I would prefer.

Ah, OK. Honestly, Duos disappoint me: they feel overly restrictive. I'd like to see them more and more of use in Vanilla. Honestly, if all MI had received Duo for free AND Duo was usable in Vanilla without Team Pro, I'd find that very interesting. A Moira HMG dragging a Healer with her is similar costs to an Intruder + Dak and potentially more efficient in certain circumstances; Kusanagi + [Observance specialist] could be interesting in Vanilla.

I do agree that I don't want to see "every hacker either needs a Marker state or a Tinbot to be viable" but I do think that Tinbots in linkable MI is an opportunity, particularly in an environment where Hacking is more universally effective. Also, Tinbots supporting "combat Hackers" (such as the MB, Wildcat and Custodier) is a good way of buffing their survivability without increasing their power: this mitigates the fact that their being a Hacker is a critical vulnerability. But it allows KHDs to remain strong enough to challenge "specialist Hackers". Its less than 5% improvement in the odds of a Custodier killing an Alguicil Hacker in active, but a 15% improvement in that same Custodier's Reactive odds of surviving a Zero's Redrum.

Funny that the thread about Kusanagi ends up about CJC Fireteams but well, BJC hasn't got a lot of love on that front lately. Custodier needs to always fit into other links with the way hacking works that different hackers in the link who have different programs drop from the link if they declare different hacks. Lightning or redrum as their upgrade and/ or a tinbot as well as being able to join any Observance link would do a lot, maybe still not enough though with their innate anti synergies with losing one NFB thing they pay a lot for (ODD) when using the other (White Noise). Maybe a tinbot could do something else other than just a WIP mod. Like how about if it gave B2 in ARO hacking?

In N4 I really hope that they fix hacking so that 'Hack' is a catch all skill where you can use different programs like BS Attack is a catch all skill where you can use different weapons.

One great thing about the Tsyklon Feuerbach is that it's a swing piece - works both for the reactive and active turn once linked. With effective BS18 (Supportwared), great ammo types and essentially no negative range band, B3 is enough, especially with WIP15 repair rerolls. So one takes the role of both the HMG and ML Brigada, and synergises great with Jazz who you're prob taking anyway. And that's before you even get to Pitchers and climbing+. IMHO it's actually a fantastic platform. Mainly because it's only 48pts, 1 SWC for it and a Daktari doing the job of 82pts, 4 SWC of HMG + ML Brigada. That's compelling IMHO in terms of point efficiency (even if it doesn't quite have the same capability). You really need that SWC saving in CJC with 1 SWC line Lts. Mind you I quite like swing pieces (hence why I like the Intruder MSR over the HMG), so YMMV.

At this point I'd hate if they took the Tsyklon from linking with Alguaciles, because CJC rely on it to keep up with the better factions right now. Prefer if they did something else with Wildcats, eg make them link with a special FD1 Lunokhod, which both gives them a defence and makes them a proper assault team

I think duos should be given to the exact best profile for what you would want, and should be unrestricted in vanilla. They have proved not to be too much without bonuses. Sectorials will still have an advantage with having having wildcards etc to put in the duos. For example vanilla wouldn't be able to duo Lupe or Brigada with Geckos.

Maybe duo should be a skill on the base Trooper (like Haris is on Custodiers) so you can take it on whatever profile you want. I agree you basically need it on exactly the troopers you want it on to be worth it.
