Hi! We had a rules interaction in last nights game we didn't know how to resolve. My opponents Tikbalang, Bulleteer and Helot got blasted by an E/Marat Yadu and all became Isolated (and IMM-2 in case of Tikbalang and Bulleteer). A real moneyshot, for sure. Opponent starts his turn with Joan of Arc as his lieutenant; How does Isolated and Inspiring Leadership interact, if anything?
Inspiring leadership alters a unit's "training" – these units are still technically regular, just under the affects of the "isolated" state. they're irregular and can only receive their order from the pool.
Each isolated unit essentially counts as being in it's own order pool, it cannot spend any order except the one it generates, so it doesn't really matter if they are Irregular or Regular training type. They could not be included in the Coordinated Order part of Inspiring Leadership and are still only able to be activated by their own order, which cannot be spent on anything else because it's not included in any order pool. It's the same reason one could use a Command Token to change an Isolated unit's order to a Regular order, but it still could only be spent by the Isolated unit that generated it making it useless to expend the Command Token. TLDR Inspiring Leadership effectively has no effect on Isolated units.
sort of – it's important to delineate that they still take up spots in the combat group they're currently in.
I agree, that's why i used the term "Order Pool" not Combat Group. The Isolated Rule is very poorly written with that Irregular bit in there, it leads to questions like in the OP. It really doesn't make a unit Irregular, just unable to spend orders from any Order Pool and unable to share the order the Isolated unit generates in an Order Pool.
