Which Yaozao is doctor, which is Engineer?

Does it really matter?

The newest YJ support pack use the same models as the old one. I'd guess the first option is correct. Also, we all know that JSA is a trecherous bunch and cannot be trusted.

 

The engie is the one his archetypal asians parents are screaming at "YOU DOCTOR YET????'

 

This is clearly work of Imperial Sevrice to confuse enemies of the State Empire.

 

I was about to ask if you can only use one per engineer or doc... and then decided to check the rule.

Would it be worth running two of these little bots with an engineer?
I know you can only activate one per order but it could be a cheap option for wider coverage.

 

I've ran 4 of them on an engineer*, mostly to engage anyone that came too close to them.

They are 3 points each, so if they waste an opponent's order they have already paid for themselves.

Also they can repair stuff, I guess,

*In Acon, with like 3 Fugazis and a Tik and a Bulleteer and I think maybe a Pacemaker, so a lot of things to repair.

 

It can be nice having a spare just to run into mines and Perimeter Weapons.

 

Also discovers on roaming impersonators/camo markers.

That's why we need new Code One boxes, no wonder beginners and retailers are confused when you see stuff like this.

 

To be fair, when I bought my YJ Support pack(5-7 months ago), I had the same problem: the box labelled the woman as the engineer and the male the doctor while the markings were inverted...

At the end I went with doctor=female, engineer=male(going with the apron is also present on Zoe Pi-Well and an art piece in 3rd offensive book). As for the yaozao: pincer + multi eyes/lights = doctor(for better visibility), hammer/fist + rounded head = engineer

 

Until one of them is running around with a syringe and scalpel, the doctor Yaozao is the one I point at while saying it is the doctor Yaozao. And when they get resculpted and one of them is running around with a syringe and scalpel, that thing can still get to be an engineer Yaozao because of precision engineering and isopropanol/lubricant application device.

 

I always try to run 2 with the engineer in my IA lists, helps a lot keeping the heavy guys operative against all that hacking and EM out there.

Speaking of explosions, against some armies, I like to take as many Yao Zao as possible. Doc or Eng it doesn’t matter. They are fantastic for mine clearance. Run them up a dodge. If they are destroyed, no big. But if they make the dodge, move on to the next one. Also great for save discover rolls. I hope for the future that they make some variants of them with Sensor, or other skills.
