I like something like this: Invincible Army ────────────────────────────────────────────────── GROUP 1 10 LÉI GŌNG Shock Marksman Rifle, Nanopulser, Blitzen / Breaker Pistol, Knife. What's the point of taking a move 6-2 trooper on a move 4-4 linkteam? hes gonna be wasting that first move pretty much always. It's also kind of expensive towards Zuyong fireteam composition, and it doesn´t provide so much inside it. On the other side, inside Zhanshi likteams... I dont see them avancing so much, specially on first turn. And the main reason to take a zhanshi linkteam is to let space for other tools outside the linkteam. I can only see him on haris or Duos and even there... there is not so much juice into it On his own si definitely not worth of costing 13 points more than a Luduan. Less speed, No assisted fire, less fixable, less expendable. ARM 3 and a pseudowound is not sucha a huge deal for that cost In my opinion, This speed nerf is a huge reason to not use it. Especially due to invincible not being a target to MSV Aro pieces since we don't have smoke or too many camo/mimetism.
Um... the "leash range" of a Fireteam is 8", that's quite a large area. 6-2 is functionally not too dissimilar to 4-4 when this leash needs to be respected, and considering the leash is only checked at the beginning and end of the order, if he pulls ahead with his extra 2", the straggler will catch up on the second Move during a Move-Move. Sure, you can't get the brilliant 6"-Shoot consistently, but your opponent and the terrain isn't always going to be compliant with allowing that, either, but the net effect is that in a Fireteam it should only ever be an issue if they need to go through Difficult Terrain. As for comparing to a Lu Duan, keep in mind that he's also; Not a Hackable target, doesn't have a Repeater for your enemy's KHDs to use against your Hackers, doesn't need to eat extra orders to git gud, has a far slimmer arse and can crawl to hide from enemy fire or waste extra orders during reactive turn. Also, he can run circles around a Kamau during the first round, typically giving you an opportunity to hunt down a few Helots or Cobras unless the Varuna also put an Orc in the Fireteam with their head sticking out for you to shoot with your HMGs. That said... yeah, it kind of is a bummer. He'd have been quite impressive with 6-4. Now he's just... interesting and okay
I'm planning him on haris, as a way to get a pseudo spitfire + visor without wasting CAP. It isn't the best but against certain very heavy camo armies it can be worth his points.
I think they said Q1 2020 at Gen Con, so probably March, which would also line up nicely with Adepticon.
I want to try him and Gao in the same list. Maybe field a pain train with Gao, Tai Sheng, Haidao MSR and a couple of TA Zuyong; then a Zhencha and Gong (CoC profile) to move arround the midfield. I believe having him arround to reform a Fireteam is nice, but I'd like to try him solo at first. SMG + CoC profile looks like a really nice specialist + Camo hunter, something to support the Zhencha... It's kinda like having a super-Dart between both of them (?)
6-2 is still pretty gas unless you run into Shas/CA, both for move-shoot value and for safe Cautious Moves comparison with Lu Duan is strange - Lu Duan is a fatass bot that wont help you against Riot Girls, Dart, Charontid, Kamau etc and regarding slower teammates - in practice it doesnt matter, Dakini move around pretty well with CSU and Deva in their assaulting core.
I played my first game with Lei Gong (SMG) in vanilla on the weekend and he did pretty well. The 6" cautious move allowed me to cross a 5" gap to the final console. He then stopped a desperate run from a toolbox bot with this Blitzen and survived some shots thanks to his 1.99 wounds and armor 3. He also prevented me from going into Loss of LT, because the new HMG LT2 guy burned to death after eating a HRL crit. Pretty successful for a 32p model I'd say.
I played him too and unfortunately he got sploded by a Noctifer missile . But that was my fault and a bit of bad luck.
Lie Gong is one of my favorite addtions to IA. Is he an "i win" button? No. He does add that little something extra for utility and list building. I will get a chance to try him out this weekend.
So YuJing's posterboy is arriving to Aristeia and we can finally get an idea how he was designed. So in Aristeia he's a scorer therefore he's fast thanks to his roller blades (which fits his MOV 6-2 in Infinity). He also can create smoke and see through smoke and he has a nice transmutation ability which allows him to change from his scorer mode profile to a long range gunner profile thanks to his wings transmutating into an energy cannon. Now keeping in mind this we can see very little of his skills have made it into the Infinity profile. It's a wasted chance to add a second unit in the game with the Mechanical Transmutation skill. Damn it, Gutier, where're his smoke grenades, MSV2 and plasma sniper!!??? LOL Now being more serious. I can see reasons for those skills not making into the Infinity profile but still... - Should he had MSV2: A third MSV2 in the sectorial wouldn't make much of an impact. If anything he would become HaiDao's sniper best buddy in the zanshi link or simply an alternative to HaiDao's sniper. - Should he had smoke grenades: In that case he probably will end in 80-90% of the lists. Bringing smoke to zanshi and Zuyong links would be really powerful. Although he could be a great buddy for Hulang supposing a patch to this unit. - Should he had MSV2 + smoke: A no brainer LOL. Each YJ list would start with him. I think smoke grenades suppose an obvious big no. But MSV2 could be worked around. Anyway we got MSV1 + Albedo instead. Still it's a shame the wasted opportunity to create something cool with a double profile using Mechanical Transmutation just like SuJian does. By the way, IMHO the Aristeia mini looks much better than the Defiance one.
He looks more Aztec than Chinese. This is one of the representations of the Chinese god. I guess the beak helmet is close.
I like him. The mini looks good enough to serve as a proxy until I can get the infinity-version sometime in the future. Yeah this one looks clearly Aristea, but anyway if they make his infinity version hard to get, I have this. I am also eager to play him in aristeia. I only made two games, but I like it. Tactical depth and fast pacing. I also wonder, if I can use the fem wolf as a mcmurrough proxy ;-)
Weren't the 'wings' supposed to flip over to become his 'guns'... maybe I'm missing something, but the wings seem to remain, the shoulder-mount cannon is an additional piece? Explains why some things are missing from the Infinity profile, but a little odd. That said, I'd THOUGHT I was going to hate the rollerblades, but they're great, it all comes together to make a 100% Aristo model. Plus, that's enough for the national/Olympic StateEmpire Aristeia team now... Bixie, Tao Wu, Lei Gong, Kosmo?
