Okay. No more full Core for me. Double "Haris" + Duo.
    1) Tarik + Namurr. They will get rid of tough targets, especially HI and TAGs. When they are both engaged, the opponent doesn't really have a good option for ARO. Both can take a hit, both are menacing in CC, both are mobile. Namurr has great AoE attack, while Tarik is a reliable 1v1 gunfighter. Tarik's Lt Orders an activate both other Fireteams.
    2) Khawarij Haris. Take down enemy ARO units through smoke, take advantage of high mobility and coordinated grenade lobbing.
    3) Command & Support Unit. Provides some fire support and smoke coverage, also contains Liason Officer.
    4) Nahab to threaten enemy cheerleaders. Hakim will ensure his survival, until both enter Supressive Fire.

    TBH I don't feel this.
Maybe it can work for you but I see many problems with that list - like what's your idea for ARO? Nothing? Letting your enemy do what he want to do in first turn?... I see no unit that can fit that role with some hope for success.
You have 4 specialists, but I don't think it will be easy to take them to their targets - Hakim has it easiest, but you have rather small set of orders to do this, especially having one or two units outside the battlefield, needing their orders to come in.
Maybe not that bad, but I'm worried that you're also overestimating the power of Tarik, Khawa Mk12 and Namurr. For example. Without full link you'll be propably hitting worse than many of your enemies, especially linked - and even with +3 BS it's sometimes too hard to break through enemy's defence. One hit from a Missile Launcher and Tarik is gone - especially without proper support, so a doctor running "close" to him. All of your soldiers are rather glass cannons, ARM 3 isn't that much and Total Immunity isn't something that will save you in all situations.

You also can not coordinate grenade lobbing of link teams. Or I just don't understand what you ment.

Good thing is that you can actually build a full link with Tarik, Khawarijs and Namurr and then benefit from the whole package of bonuses. It can make a big difference against some enemies.

So... If you'll use it please tell how it went. I'm curious.

A cynic in me starts to think that Tarik in a cheap (Ghulam/Nafattun) link may be the only competitive basis for an RTF army list. Other people swear by cheaper active pieces, but I'm not sure how well 1 wound troopers would do compared to modern standards.

That can have something to do with me not remembering how long it has been since I saw a successful list that cannot be described as "some ungodly horde".

Having just assembled a box set of Zhayedan, I must say the models are excellent.
Very varied (four different / individual bodies), nicely posed, and a breeze to assemble! Great design on the sculptor's part!

The more the pity they don't do well on a tabletop :(

To me, RTF has really great skirmish/solo pieces. So I feel like you have to ask, why take RTF over Vanilla? This leads to me taking 3 Fanous bots as well as a defensive ML core with Ghulam/Naffutan and Leila. I enjoy the offensive core with Khawarij, but I feel like it leaves the ARO game lacking. The offensive Haris options we have are pretty tasty (Especially the Muhktar).

I think that's a good question to be asking for any sectorial, and the answer is usually fireteams. For me, the big part is the highly flexible core, especially offensively with khawarij. The ARO game can be supplemented with a ghulam sniper or two, or even a missile launcher if you have the SWC. The mukhtar also get much better in links, even as a duo.

That's not entirely true. A namurr and Tarik are a legal "ghulam" core, even with only two members. For that list in particular, a legal core team can be formed of any combination of namurr, Tarik, Leila, and the doctor, with the exception of Tarik+Leila, as neither of them count as a ghulam.

Attending a tournament this Sunday, because they needed a replacement for one player who can't participate.
Now, I had a pretty long break and I only have the minis to run Ramah or Ramah-flavoured vanilla + Kums and Kasym Beg.

    The missions are:
    Round 1: Highly classified
    Round 2: Supremacy
    Round 3: Acquisition

So far I only have a slight idea what to bring to the Supremacy, that being a LI list built around the Maggie+Rafiq RF, supported by a humble Ghulam+Naffatun link and RF Nahab supported by a Tuareg Doctor.

With the other two missions.. I just end up gravitating towards LI lists. Maggie, Khawarij Core, Nahabs, Namurr.. Too much versatile and cool stuff, too many possible important specialists for HC (at least I can cover that with Spec-Ops).. Just what should I do and is bringing a LI list a trap?

I'd try to shy away from LI for highly classified. Redundancy of specialists is hard with only 10 models. For that one in particular (and most missions, really) I'd recommend mukhtar. I find they're usually the ones who end up scoring my classifieds. As veteran troops with MSV and three different specialist options, they can score almost every classified. There's no shortage of doctors in Ramah, but forward observers a bit tighter, so you may want a mukhtar in that role. That, or just a rafiq or two. The engineer is the really hard one. There are only two options. Take the monstrucker. Which is another reason to not go LI.

The namurr is an interesting one. It makes a solid datatracker in acquisition. But it suffers in highly classified, since it's very limited in terms of which objectives you can score. Honestly, acquisition is killy enough that I'd look to take one list for acquisition/supremacy, rather than acquisition/highly classified.

No Mukhtars or Monstruckers - we agreed against proxies. So the only true Engineer option is the SpecOps.

I've been considering the Namurr because she's a great specialist and a decent HI/TAG hunter, but how should I run her? Put her into Ghulam fireteam, or just let her go solo?

A tournament that doesn’t allow proxies? Not even for units without models? That just seems absurd.

Played this nonsense of a list a couple of times. Both times Highly Classified. And my thoughts are: "Wow, that actually worked?" Before anyone comments that I should've rather picked Mukhtars over Khawarijs - I'm not going to pick Mukhtars before they get all minis and I simply love running Khawarijs.
Also I got hang of running single combat group lists and am having the time of my life.

During last couple of games Nahabs proved to be the ultimate MVPs, singlehandedly accomplishing every possible Classified mission, baiting counter-placements and clearing the path for Khawarij fireteam to come in and clean up. Had doubts about running all three of them, but it really worked out well, almost too well.

Nahabs are the queens of flexibility. They are quickly becoming my favourite Haqq unit.

The Killer Hacker Nahab has carried many games for me. This guy always pulls through taking objectives and removing opponent's pieces even if I'm failing hard at dice or being stupid with orders spent on my other troops.

I have had good luck with the Red Fury one as an infiltrator. It is hard to beat starting on the board in good range with a formidable weapon and able to do pretty effective suppressing fire (take note, Yasbir!). The KHD has been able to get on the board, Cybermask, and get in annoying places too. I don't think I'd go for the generic specialist with shotgun most times given the utility of the KHD. Truly the option of Infiltration and AD2 is huge. Something like the Tiger Soldiers' AD3 vs Multiterrain doesn't begin to compare.

I admit I was also slightly envious at those troops. Those are some really cool toolboxy units. Khawarij still has fatality and MSV shenanigans though!
