Do you have a list you mind sharing? I haven't played Geckos in almost 2 years. I wouldnt know where to start building gecko lists these days.
Just a quick mockup cuz I build a new list before every mission. I feel confused making it without an objective in mind and am thinking "what do I use again?" but it's something like this. That could work nicely for Aquisition or any of the Quad Zone Control missions. Those (and other Zone Control missions) are probably the missions I'd look towards a CJC TAG at all. BTV is another interesting one. Gecko Duo + Alg Core + McMurder + Moran + Bandit could be fun. Geckos are good because as long as it's alive you get that chance to win, it is worth enough to capture most zones and it is a specialist. It also only loses 1 order and hasn't soaked up your swc if it goes down early. It's not a first turn superstar but it has been pretty good for keeping your stamina up thru turn 3. Same reason I like AD, keeps to late game and if it fails you don't lost a big order investment (haven't wasted a turn moving to position just to die).
Gecko duos don't mess around now that they have Tactical Awareness. I was surprised how bad it felt being on the receiving end... they can accomplish so much more now.
