Dealing with violent feminists or: Riot Grrl Fireteam list ideas

Partly it's about screwing with expectations. Most people go 'oh you're playing Nomads so I expect a strong hacking game' then you drop 7 HI, no hackers on them. This is particularly true if you've run hackers in practically every list you've ever played.

And yeah, without the engineer it's a risk. But it's 7 HI!

In anything other than BTV it's a 'for laughs' list. In BTV I find gameplay tends to be more brute force. But yes, Nomads and Mutts will cause you massive issues. That's hardly surprising.

Well, as long as the ML-Grrl lives the Grrls don't have to move much which lowers the risk of getting molested by filthy, normally basement dwelling, perv.. I mean Hackers! And if you don't bring a hacker yourself (or don't weave a big repeater grid) the opponent's Killer Hackers will be quite useless.

Your list looks pretty similar to one of my old lists which I scrapped because of Lt. ultra obvious. Do you actually play the FO Zero? Because whilst I was checking some of my older lists is realized that type of Zero was totally underrepresented since the KHD Zeros introduction.

IMO you're totally right with the Engineer but I differ in regard of the Killer Hacker.

It's more that the Killer Hacker is the best one for killing hackers, any Assault or plus Hacker is also capable in neutralizing, or better: hindering, the enemy Hackers, e.g. with Blackout or Oblivion since the HD will be disabled in both cases. Thus in cases of a more versatile approach one might prefer the (Zero) Assault Hacker.

Even Zoe is still an option despite her lack of any BTS (which is a real shame since the normal Clockmaker has BTS 3). Personally I choose Z&Pi only because of Pi-Well's supreme nastyness. Maybe the new tin jw Zoe will get a new revamped profile, BTS 3, NWI, and STR instead of W would be nice. With that she'd be able to perform Test Run on herself :D

-9 to hack against is some pretty heavy dust, no lie. Like you can hack your way through that if you kill the Fairy Dust hacker, but it's not going to be easy. Still, I always think the best solution to a hacker is another hacker with nasty brain explosion programs, which is why I like my Zero KHD. But against a lot of lists, I think those Riots will bounce any problems from said normally basement dwelling pervs.

The LT question is no question to me. I have rarely seen a LT die in my matches. If you want to be safe, drop a Zero and get in more Moderators.

And since I have the Zero FO in my list example. Yeah, I play FOs a lot. :) Especially, with speculative fire or camo/ODD enemies.

The KHD is cheap and your Riot Grrl Fireteam should be able to handle most of the HI, TAG problems. If not, go for a E/M CCW Morlock in group 1 and smoke your way into CC or change one Zero to AHD.

I think Zoe's profile is fine. She is half cyborg but human still, so no STR or NWI for her. The only thing I would accept is BTS 3+, the rest of the profile should stay. Their duo is very cost effective.

Zoe would be good in this list to support your HI with Fairy Dust.

LOL is someting I've heard of too, does this really exist? :grinning:

Normally it's a waste of orders to hunt the enemy's Lt., that's clear. Even with Lt. ultra obvious. But then there's another meta or tournaments comprising a big enough amount of CA / Haqq players where I don't want to risk anything. And Since I love the good old Moderator thimblerig I want to present my opponent a bunch of choices.

Hey Folks, this weekend I'll attend two tournaments and therefore I designed a "new" Girrls list for Comms Center / Unmasking. I was already able to test it in latter mission and it did work pretty well.

I always feel like I have to take Zoe and Pi-Well instead whenever I end up with a moderator hacker and a clockmaker in the same list...

The Riot Grrl pain train. Oh, these Grrls dodge damn too good. :) Hopefully, we don't play against each other. ;)

They are hard to stop for sure, especially, if you have the first turn.

I just have realized, this is close to my suggestion. You just dropped the Minelayer. ;) Good for me then. :D

Well, it's never Zoe why I chose Zoe & Pi-Well. A normal Clockmaker does her engineering job as well and doesn't have to fear any hackers. Pi-Well alone would indded be worth considering but IMO the Zero's Infiltration and Camouflaged state still outweigh Pi-Well's increased movement and ODD. Pi-Well will still need more orders to get to the Antennas and he an be seen as a figure all the time, and lucky hits are lucky hits.

We'll see, you definitely won't face the Grrls in Transmission Matrix. There I'm going to use my meaner list... :D

Let me make a guess: Moira E/M Fireteam? Would be smart against all those Tohaa players. :(

I think Zoe adds more as a hacker than a moderator as well, but I definitely see your point. Regarding Pi-well, the swing for me comes that in missions where I want to run camo infiltrators, so does my opponent and Pi Wells sensor helps. It is not meant as critique of your list, just as my personal musings regarding those units. Good luck in the tournaments!

The Mission was Capture and Protect and my enemy had a whooping 18 orders! with 9 camo tokens on the table!

He won 3-2 in the end, very close game too, as I had the beacon at the end of my turn and he damn near couldn't remove Twilight (my boarding shotgun Riot, sue me :P) off the table using 4 of his 6 remaining orders.

Some good points about the list:

Riot Grrls are amazing at dealing with camo and mines. Hyperdinamics means they can waltz trough minefields unmolested and the fireteam bonuses means normal camo is mostly a formalty to deal with. Doubly so if your oponent is like mine and can be trusted to reveal his models when you come with an autoshotty close enough.

Taskmasters are badass, but the smaller range band hurts them more than the Riots, because they only dodge on 14. However, they are very good at controlling the enemy advance and advancing themselves.

At the end of the game, both me and my oponent were reduced to 5 orders each, so I don't think him having order count superiority really mattered in this case, and I am pretty sure I'd have won the match if I had taken an extra moment to go and kill his Lasiq on my second turn.

I'll try to change some things on that list and play it again, but overall I loved it and recommend anyone to give it a spin!

So, I have never actually played a Riot Grrl link. I tend to navigate towards more spam, and I only have the spitfire model. However, I was playing around with listbuilding and made this one including a Riot Haris.

Now, I'm still not quite sure about the Combat Group divide. Toying with the idea of switching the Riot Haris with the two Zeroes, or something similar to that.

I don't usually see the Riot Haris used in list, and I guess that's because people don't have any Core fireteam to combine it with (moderators being what they are). However, I've managed to utilize the Moderator 5man quite well, as a defensive unit early, and once the Sniper is out they can push forward with the Spitfire to try for some last minute objective grabs.

Now, I would ideally also have the Riot Specialist, but I just didn't know how to fit it in this as the Tinbot seems so much more important, plus you get a Shotgun in the mix too, and so I hope the Zeroes can manage most of the objectives.

I guess no Doctor could be another issue. If that's the case, I'd probably swap out the Lunokhod for one.

    What are your thoughts?

I'd put the TR Bot in the main group. With Supportware from your Custodier it becomes a real attack piece.

I have no idea what your Haris is supposed to do? It seems like it's defensive, but you've put it in with 5 order monkeys. I'd run that as a Spitfire + Haris + Spec (in a button pushing list) or Spitfire + Haris + Tinbot (in a ZC list).

It's not bad as a Zone-control list: Grrls are great for it. Both Zeros start forward, Custodier can get itself forward (but you'll need to be careful with that noting she's your Lt), Lunk and Reaktion both go forward well as well. I assume that's what you're going for?

You have enough orders in group 2 to use your remote and your Riot Grrl fireteam and TR drone can do something in the other group. The second pitcher helps your Custodier to don't get exposed as well.

In your own list you have to many plans in my opinion, but sure, it can work as well.

You should try the Grrls, they're fun! But beware Grrls don't like to be housewifes (being crammed into a building). Also simlar to @inane.imp's suggestion but more general: try to mix order craving and order giving troops evenly in your combat groups. Right now your second combat group is filled with the majority of your specialists and attack piece and a bunch of Morlocks whilst your first combat groub drowns in orders for people who don't want to move.

Yeah, make sure you spread out your links a bit. Riots are very resilient to templates and such, due to Hyper-Dynamics, but they're still a bit vulnerable to such things like all link teams. Just generally good practise for links.
