As you know, a Tunguska spec-ops Dire Foes lady with a chaincoat and trenchcolt is coming soon. Ish. See below... That leaves poor old Bakunin as the only ones that matter here* without a Dire Foes at all - Even StarCo have Knauf, technically. So, presumably in Dire Foes 12 we get one. But, what sort of Moderator Special Character do we want? I've put a poll with a few crude ideas but personally I want someone who is a loose cannon, but a damn good cop, assuming Cyberpunk Detective up there isn't. The kind of person who serves a no-knock warrant driving an aircar through the bathroom window. I'd like V:NWI on this moderator, make them a little bit of a tank, albeit one with composite armour made of PVA glue and newspapers. Maybe something like this? But what does everyone else want for this entirely speculative character who may take until 2023 to even show up, if at all? *IIRC Acontecimento, Invincible Army, OSS, and O-12 are all that's left lacking one, including shared ones like Sharif and Bipandra.
What about fresh sculpted Bran Do Castro? He's not a Vortex but I'd be happy to see him in Dire Foes.
Motorcycle, 19CC, 14 PH, stun CCW, Berserk, FO. Sprinkle in some random stat boosts and you got a sick nasty Dire Foe EDIT: SPECIFICALLY NOT A COMIC BOOK CHARACTER, PLEASE STOP CB
We are voting what do we whant? or what do we think CB will do? because after each news we have about nomads, I get more sure that CB doesn't spend much work on them, so maybe for dire foes 20 we will have something, in N5. When that Happens, I would like some anime reference..because this is a manga-like game, and bakunin is the more manga-like faction, but latelly we get almost no manga vibe. Maibe something like Buaku or Annapuma/Unipuma from Dominion tank police would be nice
So now Nomads have an Alguacile spec-ops and a Securitate spec-ops. Both line troops, and the Bakunin line troop isn't Moderators but Der Morlock Gruppe. Imagine an Irmandinho type specialist/warband rounding out an Observance or infiltration based list. Cheap enough to bring the faction goodies, fills a gap, and damn fun to field. Personal wishlisting would be spec ops, mines, grenades, a template weapon, and a real gun. Just a 100% drugged out assault troop who's just smart enough to press buttons.
Our Bakunin regular spec-ops is based on a Moderator profile though, and Dire Foes are usually based off the spec ops... but no one says it has to be. A Morlock Specops would be pretty interesting though
This is a mistake and should be corrected. Also Morlocks should be able to form Fireteams again. We have rules for what happens when you have Fireteams of Irregular Troopers. Which gives you the answer for our Dire Foe: Regular Training with a Combi + Smoke LGL, DA CCW and Paramedic.
why is that a mistake? and, even if it really was one, seems that CB tested taskmaster with linked morlocks and they didn't like it (but I don't see that as powerful as other fireteams that actually made into the game).
if you mean the generic ones, the morlock profile would not fix that, because the options the vortex has are bland and boring (and sadly, the vortex version would be the combi of 14 points) If you mean the character ones, we only have one profile (at the moment), so we cannot generalize (and I don't find her boring, she is just not enough awesome, as mostly other spec ops characters)
Am I the only one who upon reading this imagined a burly Morlock dude furiously button-mashing on a keyboard while screaming ATATATATATATATATA, Fist of the North Star-style?
You heard the man, CB! I'm as well not fond of any more pathetic cosplayer for Bakunin, we're no jokes. Despite Rosa Diaz and Miller are both really cool templates our Vortex shouldn't be tied to any of them - except the police theme. So my idea would be, following @Del S' Profile for BS and else, also NWI and Specialist Operative sound great, to build him (Nomads have two Vortex women now, a dude would be cool) as a bridge between the Moderators and the Taskmasters both in linkability (counts as Taskmaster for Duo and possible Haris) and in weaponization (Nomads lack light rocket launchers). Further I'd like to see counterinelligence on him instead of COC (that's just for wusses!) and a Riotstopper instead of the Nanopulser. Maybe Minelayer with Cybermines woud be cool (not because of the Cybermines but because of the Camomarker that mostly blocks the enemy's way).
Agreed no-one in this faction (let alone BJC) is disciplined enough for that. CoC: "LT is dead I'm the boss now" Rest of the army "HAHAHAHAHAHAHA, lol nope scrub" Agreed, it's a combination that should be incredibly rare, and isn't on profiles that should probably have it. what should be done is shock should be less ubiquitous in the game to balance it out, not spam it everywhere then slap a god awful band aid fix on it.
