That is a perfectly reasonably explanation as to why the robot is there, but my head cannon says that if the Alpha is unlucky enough to wind up in close combat, the robot just uses the shotgun like a club, repeatedly thwacking it against anything that would threaten the Alpha.
I think the Alpha's pretty great, to be honest. Other than the name on the cap(and it's apparently sculpted on to boot!) and the weird decision for both models to be on the same base, I think there's a lot more character behind that model than the Tunguskan Dire Foe and Mary Problems.
As she is some strange "lost child from Baker Module" like Uhahu, but her body not still like that of a child, it might mean that she got an adult Lhost? Yeah, with "build-in" hacking devices! So she can show off her pistols while hacking... Maybe stat static pose should resemble that the Lhost does not "match her mind" - in the RPG things like that may happen, and then the "synchronisation" is .. less optimal. She's just standing there - trusting in her O.D.D.... And about the Alpha. When I first saw him, I thought "What a *****, using the binoculars the wrong way?!?" Still not sure...
The Dire Foes is okay. But i hate how they put HVT in with them. I'm not going to buy two figs i don't need to get her. Just come out with a box of HVT figures already!!!!! Mary is meh. looks like she's falling asleep. Seed isn't bad. I think a lost opportunity to come out with some sort of seed base. The Haido isn't bad but i still hate the chevrons. Alpha is interesting but he does look like he's a worker instead of soldier.
Agreed. I do like the Hadio, Seed Soldier & PanO dire foe. The rest I'm indifferent. That is a weird choice. It seems that the Alpha has one light shotgun and the robot has the other. And each model has a nanopulser to boot. The fact that Alpha Unit has only two options which are the same exact loadouts except one is CoC and the other is Lt./Strategos L2.
Yes but I guess I should have said civilians like the one above looks like. Other than Dragon lady, they all look like some sort of troop.
A red flag if their every was one. He does seems more interesting then them especially since he comes with a robot. We can remove the word Alpha with a file or hobby knife. Still having more outside of those and the Dire Foes would be a nice touch. At least we have @ShaeKonnit's service thread to use for troubled times like these.
Which ones? The Neoterra Corporate Executive, O-12 Commissioner, Tariqa, and High Functionary all look very Civilian, with the Midnight Sun analyst going either way due to his Grenzer Coat. The only one that looks outwardly military is Voronin IMO.
I find the cap quite fitting, reminds me of how US three letter agencies have their own baseball caps and windbreakers to remind them if they're FBI, NSA, WTF, DHS, ATF, BBQ, or even a SWAT team member.
I really don't like that Alpha and will probably be looking at composing one for myself. There's something that doesn't quite mesh there... looks like he's a marksman (like a spotter team), but all the Alpha's abilities are focused on close quarters. I must also say that the paint job on the Seed Soldier and the Haidao doesn't look up to snuff to what we're used to. They look like great table top quality, but sort of comes short on being promotion material.
"Sure, *zrrrzzz* I guess we will handle that for you again... *shiieeep*, ehh.. *bark* *bark*, erm, Sir!"
I for one really like Mary....Gives more of a "anime cyberpunk" feeeling with the hood and bionic legs...
