It's my firm belief that Sval and white banner will be the launch factions for N4, and even if I'm wrong Sval is coming anyway, so i decided to get a head start, get all the Nisses and the Jotum and.... well, now I'm not sure. So, what current models do you think will be in the sectorial? And, what new units/profiles do you think we'll see? Feel free to go crazy, i feed off your inspiration.
The old Blizzard-6 lists also had Hospitallers and Order Sergeants, though the OS were suggested to be stand-in for a new unit. Uma from Defiance also seems like a likely option. Then your usual Fusiliers, possibly ORCs too.
I can see OS being in the sectorial anyway, just at limited AVA Those blizzard-6 lists also had Saito Togan, though im not sure if he will stick around of if that was just for funsies. buying every available Nisse seems like a good idea though.
Joan? Seriously, why not? She is technically member of Hospitaller order and we all knows that it would be a chance to spawn another Joan sculpt, and Corvus would be damn stupid to miss it...
So full List Pretty much set: REMS Fusiliers Nisse Hospitaler Jotum Likely candidates: Joan V1 (V2 is the Santiago version according to fluff) Valkyre Uma New LI (with OS used as placeholders in Blizzard Lists) Saito Togan (dude has beef with YJ and there's always some State Empire to beat up at the Sval border - also Blizzard lists) That's 21 Profiles right now. With even IA sitting at 24 on release and 27 with Krit and Defiance there's a lot of stuff missing. Personal guesses for new troops: Sval native alien troop - "heavy LI" (the OS standin) Sval native alien character New stabby TO midfield Infiltrator (no AD troop cuz blizzards) Light Stingray Series TAG (because every PanO Sectorial has 2 TAGs right now) Magisters (MO presence should be higher than 1 troop choice with the whole Sval home monastery being on premise) Non stabby Orc class HI high performance Guard/Guarda class BS15 HI (pretty sure there will be a second HI, but the "Guard class" is wishful thinking on my part) General predictions about Sval design: Frostbyte implied HI and TAGs are better suited for Sval environments so I'd expect 2+ TAGs, 3+ HI choices & a Character on top. With the high presence of Knights in the fluff and Saito in there Sval would actually be good at CC and have limited access to Smoke+CC/MSV2 (Nisse). Sval don't like outsiders - likely this manifests by not having Aleph loaners by design. (Although I faintly remember some Aleph Troops that are supposed to train there). Since Sval is pretty much always engaged in border skirmishes I'd expect PanO's second Veteran (Skill) Troops. If Nisses are anything to go by there's going to be multiple MSV choices as well. Although I would be surprised to get a second MSV3 Trooper that's not a TAG.
Each time I read you I wonder seriously why the heck did you end up playing PanO instead of preUprising YuJing which offered more the game style you seemed looking for. Ability to be able to CC effectively is not a right in this game. Besides, Saito in a Closed Battlelist list which was clearly badly designed on purpose means nothing and it wouldn't be a correct game design to give a faction access to a kind of unit which has been always an iconic part of the nemesis faction (ninjas in any form: a skilled CC , TO infiltrator unit) be it merc or not. At current there's enough Saito options already with JSA, Druze and Dashat; all of them NA2 armies. And PanO with around 54 units and 4 sectorials is already a very rich army with a varied selection of options.
Anyway, i really like this post, thanks. The idea of a light tag appeals. If it was something like thr Su Jian even better. I want a robotic transforming ice bear, dammit!
Not Jeanne. ALEPH will give Svalarheim an ALEPH recreation of a famous Scandinavian. I'm thinking it'll be Greta Thunberg, who will have been sent to Svalarheim to warn the people there of the dangers of global warming.
If we are wishlisting: Sval ‘regulars’: Fusilier types with Nisse coats, warm hats, Veteran, Marksman rifles, Mountain terrain etc (like PanO Briscards) Make the Stingray an Uhlan with mountain terrain, and take the chance to re-cost slightly to address the redundancy/overlap in loadout. (It is a great model that deserves table time, and lots of us have one because of the double box... Orc class HI, are Orcs...but maybe with a Character? Varangians??? I do hope for Valk, bought her with this hope in mind...
At the moment in the Nisses, Jotum and Uma we're seeing lots of heavier-than-usual armour. I suspect Svalarheima will be a very simple and elite force that relies on its individual high stats and defenses to smash the enemy, and I think they will be the strongest faction on a flat table with access to good long-range options.
