So we all know there are loads of O-12 releases in the future, hopefully. Question is what are we most excited for?

Practically, for me, while the Varangian box is high up there, I really want to see Lambdas, Cyberghosts and so on. Bread and butter cheap stuff that goes in a lot of lists. Varangian box would be very welcome ASAP too.

    But honestly? Gimme that Zeta.

After my initial conversion frenzy, the only models I would really like to have official models for are Alpha, Lambda and Cyberghosts. But I don’t really care too much, good sculpts of anything are highly welcome

I'm a simple guy – I want minis for the units I use the most. Varangians would be really nice. IO would love to see how a viking warrior translates into a UN mercenary soldier.

    I also really want a non-KS lynx.

Varangian top of the list. Zeta second, but hopefully 1mm shorter than the Guijia's shoulder rifle for transport reasons, Copperbots third.

Honestly, any news about copperbots, need to know if I'm better off converting them or holding my horses.

Gangbuster arms, just the arms, with SMG and Combi Rifle. :P

Zeta, yes please. Other than that, I really want to see the Lambdas.

The O-12 reinforcement pack, but sold outside of the Defiance kickstarter.

Varangian Guard are..eh, IMO. The profiles seem cool and all, but I think it will end up being another LARP unit. I'd rather see the faction get their fully fleshed out range of O-12 stuff before we get the goofy LARPers.

I was also thinking this... I'm seriously hoping they'll be a hybrid Ariadna/O-12-geared group, like you'd imagine the AEF being. But I have the sneaking suspicion they're just going to be horn-helmeted, braid-bearded hatchet-chuckers. Tall dwarves or the male versions of Valkyrie, but without the excuse of being an Aristeia star.

If they don't put axes in the hands of Varangians they have failed. And to re-iterate something I dug up somewhere, I do hope the official figurine is painted with a blue earring denoting Scandinavian origin. (And if they do something more with the Varangians they have the perfect opportunity for Finish representation by making a Hakkapelitta Light Cavalry TAG - different topic though)

"If they don't do X with <insert random historical unit name here>, they have failed!"

I said that about the Marauders for USARF, where they cribbed everything down to the unit designation for Merrill's Marauders and horribly missed the mark.

Them not making the Varangian Guard some LARPtastic trope would be nice, thanks. Jim Butcher did a fantastic job of turning Norse mythos into something that actually works in the modern world, and CB would do well to take note.

"Varangian" means "carries axes". As in, it's in the actual name. In real life they didn't all carry axes, far from it.

Also, where did you pick up "LARPtastic" and why do you think everyone would know what you mean? CB's forums don't have a swear word filter to work around, you know, if you want to write "fucking trope" then write "fucking trope" and people'll understand ;)

I think that they'll be at least a little Mediaeval Scandinavian looking. It is a game with that aesthetic style, kind of anime inspired etc. I don't mind that. Keisotsu wear hakama pants after all.

That's cool and all. Marauders were given the "5307th Composite Unit" designator--which is literally a copy and paste of Merrill's Marauders designation.

And yet CB managed to miss the most important part of what made the Marauders such an interesting bit: they were a light infantry regiment and operated more in line with the methods that we see with the Foxtrot Rangers not the "we wear heavy-ish armour and basically everyone gets a flamethrower!" we see in Infinity.
I'm well aware that it doesn't have a swear word filter. I'm also well aware that the moderation team will seemingly randomly choose to enforce a 'no swearing policy' when they see fit while leaving garbage up elsewhere that is things like referring to games developers not from CB as "special olympics rejects", etc.

With that said, I really don't have anywhere I 'picked up' LARPtastic--but fair point about not necessarily having everyone knowing what I mean.
When I say "LARPtastic", I mean that the aesthetic(not necessarily the unit itself) used is closer to a LARP game than something that feels like it would 'fit in' for the universe.

"LARPtastic" is what I generally would use to describe the Aristiea nonsense. It takes the trope and turns it up to 11, beating you over the head with it instead of hinting at it.

I'd prefer, for example, to see Varangians wearing fatigues. I'd like to see the 'hexes' on their clothing be left off and instead maybe they have ringmail alongside of their armor plating. Maybe axes could be their CCWs, if it's such a big deal that it needs to be represented.

    Just for you, Solar:

I want to see all the things. Varangian Guard aren't high on my list of things, but I really want to see the stuff from the Defiance Reinforcement Packs made generally available. The Lynxes are gorgeous.

    Thanks man

The Lynxes are gorgeous and I would love to see them outside of Defiance as well.

Also I want to know why the Lynxes have different symbols with SWORDFOR rather than AEGIS on them cos possible Sectoral details?

Honestly though making lists so far one thing I really want to see is a Epsilon HMG. That will be an absolute staple.

SWORDFOR/Section Spatha is likely to be the first O-12 Sectorial. It's one of the Subsections of Bureau Aegis.
