Taskmasters are specialist operators in the Moderator Corps that provides security in Bakunin's communal areas, ship critical areas and Modules where they are accepted. Makes sense that they'd work very closely together.

If it's a Securitate: what's a niche that a Securitate (or TJC in general) could really benefit from? What kind of loadouts/rules would be interesting or beneficial there?

The name really seems to imply Hacking/infowar, but does TJC need more Hacking? Securitate already have a good range of weapon loadouts covered (even the shotgun profile for very short range, which is pretty sweet.)

    Any speculation?

In regards to BJC (or any neglected faction really), I think it will be unlikely that any faction/sectorial will see major changes or tweaks until N4 which could wholesale adjust every faction in the game's balance and options through rules streamlining and cost adjustments.

I feel it's more likely that TJC gets a spec ops in the new dire foes since they are new and selling well, and the Datacash name certainly implies it.

If I could wishlist it, I'd love to see a Securitate get something that cannot be achieved through the spec ops tree.

After all the recent profiles and how interesting they are (except Sorensen WTF PanO?), I'm certain my speculation would fall short of what we will actually get.

It will be interesting to see if what comes out plays to TJC's strengths (more hacking, repeaters, something fast) or to cover one of their many weaknesses like midfield presence, passive defense deployables, or if it's just totally insane like a linkable Jammer.

I am more expecting a Bakunin Moderator Vortex and Regular Indigo.

Mainly because the Mary Problems is coming out in the same month for Tunguska, and there is already a Fusilier Indigo.

If they were to do a Securitate, I would be happiest with any specialist other than a Hacker, (Tunguska has a hard enough time with Transmission Matrix). I would think the Securitate profiles are pretty great as they are, and you can already sneak a Grenzers, and Perseus into their Fireteam, so I do not really know what they are missing. Maybe MSV2, and a Marksman Rifle?

    Some meandering speculation...

A Securitate CoC wouldn't be unwelcome.

    MSV-2, of course.

    Perimeter weapons could be cool.

Something FD1 or infiltrate under a camo marker, especially a minelayer, would mix it up with Hecklers.

Albedo with a long range weapon could make sense.

    Securitate have already got the option to take;

Regular Securitate of all kinds, who cover most basic LI roles.
Grenzers who provide superior firepower at superior cost or a great Sensor/FO profile.
A CC maniac with smoke, ODD etc
A CC maniac with Drop Bears who is a Specialist

The only thing you can't but in the link is a beastly hacker but they already have loads of that in Tunguska. I'm not sure what really could be added into the Securitate link that they can't already take. I'm sure it'll be a cool character anyway. Actually I would like to maybe see a Doctor or Engineer but I doubt we will.

    Could be anything really.

Considering we only have 1 of each this would fix one of the largest problems, another good FO wouldn't astray either.

Not that unlikely given they resculpted the chasseur when they retired MRRF.

Something to make moderator links playable would be nice so yeah a bs12 moderator spec ops with a decent weapon would be amazing.

It'd also be pretty much an autoinclude instead of an option. I think it'd be better for Bakunin to get some mixed link options, like more modern sectorials, while Moderator DF could be more of a toolbox character. But then again, with a mixed link options it would have some competition, so...

And while I agree that we're most likely to get a Varuna DF, I'd really love to see an Acon one. Preferably a hacker, which could be used as a Regular hacker proxy.

a cheap camo infiltrator minelayer with monofilament/viral could be awesome, we could have something that could infiltrate far away than hecklers/mary and do some pasive defense different than jammers (which, even when they are awesome, they are easy to ignore in some metas)
a cheap DA trooper to have more options different from spector
a doctor-enginer combo, but that would be boring
a CoC... but that would bring more power to vainilla than to tunguska and non-nomad players will complain a lot

well...people will complain even if it is a 50-point moderator with combi and full auto

Bakunin being neglected is actually a good thing. As we've seen recently, neglected forces are the most likely to get an Operation box and a massive re-do. Bakunin is working towards that position.

As for the new Spec-Op, Securitate does seem most likely. They don't seem to design to covering a force's direct needs so much, so MSV2 is unlikely. Engineer would be really, really interesting given Tunguska's cool STR-based troop choices, and would make a Securitate link way more likely to go up the table (or the Spec-Op on their own).

But more likely we'll get something fairly basic-beeyotch. Hopefully not MSV1 or Sensor, we've already got Grenzers for that. And dear god no hackers I hope.

If we get a Securitate I expect more an hacker enabler than an Hacker.

I would like a Securitate with FD1 deployable repeter, smg and light flamethrower.

Datacash sure sounds like something Tunguska could be involved with, but on "last 30 mins Defiance" stream someone asked about Securitate character and Carlos said they arn't planning any at the moment (he could have been deceiving us though).

B says a lot of things, and when it is regarding nomads, they usually are, at minimum, innacurate (the "TJC is the infowar sectorial" when its the cyberwar, infowar is other thing even in the lore), exagerations (the "TAGgy" interventor, the "hacking subgame"), things that later are changed (grenzers would be the glue for TJC fireteams) and so. I would never take what he says as something trustworthy. He likes too much to "azuzar" (which is translated to bait/harass)

Everyone rushed to the idea it's a hacker and from Nomads because it's their expertise. But the name is Datacash. Sounds almost like a heist to me. It could be a mercenary team trying to steal valuable info from PanO!

Securitate are lacking forward observers and it's something Tunguska as a whole has issues with (thanks to liaison officers). Someone like Lupe, but with forward observer instead of specialist operative would be welcome, as a sort of budget perseus, but since perseus already exists mimetism/smoke grenades isn't absolutely necessary.

Tunguska could use a camouflaged minelayer with FD1 to help hide hecklers.

But if it's a securitate I think they really need a budget grenzer. Someone with MSV and an swc weapon who doesn't suffer from the cost bloat that Grenzers suffer from. The Grenzer sniper rifle is their best long range gun fighter, but he almost costs as much as Perseus and Raoul for a much, much less attractive package.

    Just my humble opinion

EDIT: Well, obviously, the Kriza is the best gunfighter. I think you know what I mean though.
