So, why is it plastic and not metal model? We want metal models, screw plastic, low quality...people get free plastic model...yay, CB is best ever,LOL
Plastic can be very high quality. And consider what this thing comes with. There's almost 50 metal minis in Defiance already and that thing is huge. It will increase the weight a lot. For ease of transport and manipulation, plastic is better in this case.
It seems the Spiral Corps reinforcement box will not clash much (if at all)with their existing army pack
Big Mags is about the biggest you can make a metal model and Meggie is about twice as big. From Fernando's comments on the KS they wanted to do it in metal but the cost, weight, and assembly difficulty meant it just wasn't viable.
It's far to big to be made of metal and not pose a serious health risk to whomever ties to pick it up. Something this big made of metal would probably cause debilitating back pain from trying to lug it about in a case. A secondary use for this if it were made of metal would be a boat anchor. Anyway, it's going to be made of the same PVC material as the Aristea! Minis and given there was a significant jump in the casting quality with the latest two expansions I'm not worried about getting an inferior mini.
Well, free model is free models, so that's thumbs UP for CB. I do hope it all goes good, so that they might decide in future about viability of maybe more plastic and improve their production process.
Considering Corvus only produces metal models in-house, I don't see how extenalizing the production of plastic models will improve their production process.
There is no to big in metal miniatures. Just go look for the first FW Thunderhawk from 1997. But it came around 9 kg of metal without the wooden transport box and its only 2/3 in size of the actual one from FW. But i doubt anyone wants to pay casting and shipping for such a thing.
So I don't really know shit about Kickstarter, and am wondering - is there a way to get the models for using in Infinity without the game? Sorry if this has been covered but good god the thread is 58 pages lol
Why would they do that? Thye just did and now the rule works as intended, it's TOTAL immunity. If need be, exceptions are made, like Viral for Dog Warriors.
No. All material is kickstarter exclusive. At some point, they will make a public release of all of them, but with different poses
