Hi folks, as this forum section is still quite dry, let me share some of my experiences playing Druze.

Today I went for another tournament, second with Druze sectorial. This time it was small size tournament (10ppl / 3 rounds) in Yverdon (Switzerland).

    Few pictures here: https://twitter.com/GamerGregino/status/1191073143605075969?s=20

Even I took two lists (same like for the last tournament), somehow I finished playing all 3 games only with this list:

    Cliper team
    ──────────────────────────────────────────────────

    GROUP 1[IMG] [IMG] [IMG]8 [IMG]1
CLIPPER DRONBOT Smart Missile Launcher / Electric Pulse. (1.5 | 18)
    DRUZE Lieutenant (X Visor) Combi Rifle, Chain-colt / Viral Pistol, Knife. (0 | 23)
DRUZE (X Visor) Combi Rifle + Light Grenade Launcher (E/M and Nimbus) / Viral Pistol, Knife. (0.5 | 27)
VALERYA GROMOZ Hacker (Hacking Device UPGRADE: Expel) Combi Rifle + Pitcher / Pistol, Knife. (0.5 | 21)
    BRAWLER Engineer Rifle + Light Shotgun, D-Charges / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 20)
    SCARFACE & CORDELIA TURNER undefined. (1.5 | 78)
    [IMG] SCARFACE 2 Mk12, Heavy Rocket Launcher / AP CCW. (1.5 | 61)
[IMG] SCARFACE Boarding Shotgun / Pistol, CCW. ()

HUNZAKUT (Forward Observer, Deployable Repeater) Rifle + Light Shotgun, Antipersonnel Mines / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 18)
PATHFINDER DRONBOT Combi Rifle, Sniffer / Electric Pulse. (0 | 16)

    GROUP 2[IMG] [IMG] [IMG]3 [IMG]1
    PEACEMAKER Spitfire + AUXBOT_3 / Electric Pulse. (1 | 27)
    [IMG] AUXBOT_3 Heavy Flamethrower / Electric Pulse. (- | 4)

First game was fast, very fast! Power pack against Military order LI list and I have played first. long story short: EM in good range > few immobilised/isolated knights. Peacemaker's Auxbot flaming core link team of knights. Pathfinder spotlighting unconscious knight > Guided missile hitting few others. And so, and so. Military order started second turn in retreat. (I forget for that possibility, but luckily I had some objectives done so far - 7:2)

Second game (Unmasking) again playing first (but this time as my opponent's decision) against Steal Phalanx. First two orders and Scarface burned down Thorakitay link. Clipper buffed from Valery taking down Atalanta (direct shot, not guided - B2 DA/AP BS18 no cover!). EM hitting link team of Phoenix, Machaon, and 2 myrmidons, except Phoenix all isolated. Taking 2 consoles, but guessing wrong HVT's. Achilles with reduced number of orders to spend went closer, but manage to get only one Hanzakut. Then I tried couple of things to destroy him - Missiles from Clipper, Flamer tempalte from Auxbot, I even manage to get one sensor bot out of his LoF, and spotlight him! but then the main job did Scarface. But this effort cost me all all my orders from second turn - thought Achilles. But it was worth of it since my opponent was in lost of Lieutenant (well anyway most of his survival units were isolated, so maybe wasn't that much, but anyway...). But in next turn he played well and completely covered last console with all his remaining units. I run for kamikaze missions with Scarface, Hanzakut, one sensor bot, but all of them died. Decided to kill at least HV decoys (they are worth 1OP) but even that cost me about 4 orders and that was end of the game (4:1).

Last game (Countermeasures) agains USariadna with almost 20 orders. Luckily, I won initiative and go first again. First order: assisted fire on Clipper, second order: assisted fire on Peacemaker! Clipper Shoot! Peacemaker shoot! Scarface shoot! slicing a pie like a pro ;) always 1 vs 1 but there were always more enemies under template. I think a manage to kill about 8 guys in first turn. And also success 1 or 2 objectives. In his first turn he bring back 1 or 2 guys, but also doctor-kill 1 or two others. And then he send his dogs for an adventure. It cost him all his orders to move them across whole table, covered with 7-8 smokes to finally get to b2b with Scarface. But Scarface is CC19 and as you would expect he roll better even agains 2 dices and put a wound on the dogy. But my opponent was confident to end up turn in b2b with scarface. And yes it was quite thought situation and I was quite worried how to get out of it - just keep CCing or try to shoot into CC with one of the Druze? But then I got idea about one dirty trick I read couple of times here on forum which I never ever used before, neither saw doing it, and thats "Triangulated fire" - since one of my sensor bot was close and already sees that CC, he was ideal candidate and I have to say B3 for nines with no reaction from target thats sweeeeet! Dogy death! After that I did little bit more killy-killy, this time mostly with Hanzakut (I like these girls so much!). Succeeded few more objectives and just keep rolling dices. At the end of game I had 5 objectives, my opponent 3 and nice win 10:5.

Since one of my victories was minor and there was other player having 3 major, I ends up second! but happy, nice second place and not lost game.

I have to say again I really like the Druze sectorial and especially this list I am playing with... It has so many tools for almost every situation (at least these I faced so far). I really like few exclusivities they have - smart missile in core link, scarface with HRL, AVA3 sensor bots. And they are quite rare! Honestly I haven't see them being played except myself and I have to say if my opponent deploy first most often he is not prepared for what is coming, or if so then miscalculating biggest thread, etc...

    so, stay Druze! ;)

Congrats on the near-win, good to see Druze doing well, that's a really interesting list. One question though:

As far as I can see you only have one hacking device, on Valerya, so you would only be able to have one instance of Supportware running.

    Thanks for posting!

One quick question? Why the brawler eng? I understand he's there to fix the clipper but for the price of a regular brawler you could buy a bot for Cordelia who is better at fixing. Then either her or the bot can be with either the clipper or Scarface.

This frees up the druze to not be the lt and maybe do some fighting if you need.

Also 3 Pathfinders?! Is that a typo?

If Cordelia has a bot for fixing the Clipper then she can't be in a Duo with Scarface stopping him from going Frenzy.

You are right, I miss that one, but then I would be able to to put one, shoot with one remote, then put another one and shoot with another one... Anyhow I need it only for active turn... but good point, I will noted it for next time ;)

I simply like to run Cordelia in duo with Scarface... its a specialist you can get to the mid of the table simply for free. and its also protecting Scarface's Frenzy. Also once you say you have engineer nearby, ppl prefer to spend one more order to completely kill scarface, which is ok for me. And she was already quite helpful ungluing Scarface. Also this way I have two specialist, what you suggest I would have Cordelia and regular Brawler.

Yes, Pathfinders are ava 3 (see screenshot) and I simply didn't find better usage for these 50pts :) and I have to say they do a good job every game. but I think next time I will do 2 sensors + 2 baggage...

Nice to read, thank you for this! What are your plans with this list? My problem when building Druze-lists is the missing redundancy or durability for active pieces. Scarface is dying fast and remotes, Druze and Hunzakuts are lacking the potential for a second try in most cases. So how do you keep things running?

    Thanks for the write-up.

Overall, how did the 3 pathfinders work out?

While it might be a good list, something about Druze with very little actual Druze, drives me nuts! lol

Hi Capo.Paint, this list is for missions I want to play first and then typically Peacemaker with auxbot are the first strikers, ideally one side flank. Then either one Hanzakut for Forward observing for guided shooting, or EM lobbing for juicy targets (HI, rems, TAGs, link teams, Lieutenants,....). of if nothing juicy here then Scarface taking other side flank. But mostly keeping scarface for second turn. And yes for third turn Peacemaker and Scarface are typically down. And here you can still surprise some opponents bringing out scarface as a pilot itself for last suicide boarding shotgun kill. Quite often also on of the Hanzakuts has a good time with is light shotgun + surprise + camo. Or finally main link team can finally start moving a doing stuff. And Druze guys with fatality, xvisors and viral pistols are not bad at all. I have to say I have no problem to use every single model in this list, which is not often when I play with other armies... This list also have a lot of units capable of doing mission / classified objectives (maybe except doctor and chain of command). Only future change I see is maybe change one pathfinder for 2 baggage/flashpulse bots, only to get extra order and thinking of 2 pathfinders are maybe still enough what I want them for.

Something what start with "nobody playing sensor bots, lets field 3 of them, thats gonna be cool" turn out to be more successful then I was expecting. I really like then, they have much more utility then other units, and there are no 3 other units for total of 48pts which gives me such tools (fast, specialist, FO, flash pulse, sensor, ...). So yes I am quite happy with them, only as I mentioned above thinking more about replacing one with 2 baggages.

Sorry for that. As far as I like fluff of being mercenaries, and have a lot of conversions/count-as units/proxies in my list which I am quite happy with. its still about rules and tactics, and I found this list to be working for me well.

With this list, did you think about using the sat lock?

The main plan was to throw the Peacekeeper into the enemy and then let missiles rain onto sat-locked enemies. Of course my opponent (Bakunin with Moira-Core and Riot-Haris) opted for going first. I got lucky and have the Brawler taking down the Moira HMG in ARO, but from that success on, everything went down due to poor defensive capabilities of most of the list.

So what defensive strategies would you suggest, if you have to go second? Two Hunzakuts, MSV2 Brawler and Fugazis seem to be the best possible, but rely a lot on flash pulses...

When I played local league with druze - yes...one fugazi+linked smart missle+huzakuts+peacemaker heavy shotgun... I always played with two hunzakuts. Aaaand... bashi bazook placed with usual deployment in holoecho lvl2 to block some passages as baording shotguns ABH, or as usual brawler to hide my LT

Great report! I'll be playing Druze at the Sin City Smackdown in Las Vegas this weekend (12/7-8). I'll try to be better at taking pictures and post my own report.

Good luck, Druze seem to be considered an underdog army so I look forwards to hearing how it goes.
