No. My peeve is that it is presented poorly in a way that initially leads to the impression it is more of an afterthought. If they can't explain the basic mechanics of the game and what makes it different from other games, IP aside, in an elevator pitch (standard for this sort of situation) I worry that they are not taking gameplay into as much consideration as they are the other bits around it.
I feel you, man. I'm getting heavy FOMO out of this as well :| How about doing what others are, pledge 1 EUR and check in January, when the Pledge Manager starts (and lasts for a month or so as they said), and check whether you can pull the trigger then? That's what I'm doing, I can't afford it now but after new year I'll surely be able to.
"Most importantly though - 2019 will be the year of the Tohaa players!" - Corvus Belli, December 2018
Can you please point me to a kickstarter that does this? The Defiance ks page looks almost exactly like a CMON kickstarter.
The post I lifted that from wasn't written by him. ;-) Still, I remain hopeful that we'll see some Tohaa or Sygmaa in Defiance, even if it's unlikely. The campaign ain't over yet.
Linking to KSs is against the forum rules so you have to do some work yourself. Ignoring Zombicide as that does not need to explain gameplay the same way given that it is an established system. Every game I looked off my Recommended section gives at least a rough outline of what you do on your turn which is completely lacking from CB. Take a look at the "What makes it special" graphic through to "Expansion" on Crimson Company. More competitively for Defiance the "What is Unique" section of Chronicles of Drunagor which talks about game items and mechanics with far more than "Each time you make a roll, you will obtain a series of symbols from the dice. Equipment cards, Software cards, Specialty cards, and enemies, may spend those symbols to apply Effects via Switches." What the hell do I do with those symbols other than use Switches. What are Switches Omicron is light on it's details in a similar way to Defiance, but they add in descriptions to the videos so you know watch to get the information you are looking for which is a huge step up in usability. Yes, I was able to find the information to make sure I was interested in actually playing the game instead of buying an army I'm not interested in, but CB isn't helping in any way. The Remotes video from yesterday was a great opportunity to talk about what you can do with your remotes to push the desire to have a physical one. Instead it was just Carlos showing off different pictures of digital models we have already been shown. That's "more about the remotes of Infinity Defiance"?
Is it even actually possible to link to a specific comment or thread in the kickstarter comments? I swear it's worse for that function than trying to link to a faceBOOk discussion. :( If the state of the Tohaa were a monkey's paw scenario, it's equally plausible that CB's holding the monkey's paw as a Tohaa player is.
How about Spiral then? It would be a good opportunity to include Greif Operator hero. Bostria said in the video we should make demands. We demand some Tohaa love
Screen grabs are the best way. You might be able to pull a direct url from the emails they send you to notify you of comments on a comment thread you are acting in.
This and your other recent posts make far more sympathetic arguments. The only think I can do is echo others in hoping that either someone in your meta gets it and you get to play it, or you can encourage your FLGS to drop a retail pledge so you can pick it up (for a higher price, most likely) at some point later. Also, I'm not entirely sure they are currently including the retail pledges in the campaign though it seems they will before the end.
So I looked at that Chronicles of Druganor ks page. And after scrolling through tons and tons of models and expansions I finally found the section you were referring to. It contains about the same amount of information as the defiance kickstarter section does. It has action cubes! Which do something? It has darkness! It is a thing! Would you like to move the goalposts for a fourth time?
Hopefully someone can help me, where is the €1 access to pledge manager pledge level as I can’t see it on the ks. Please help
Not moving. Trying to explain my personal opinion. You aren't attempting to understand it, but to challenge it. Your opinion is that there is enough information for you to make your decision. Good for you.
I was able to download and print enough material at home to play the demo game (I already have the aristeia dice though) and play though demo and mission 1. And it didn't took very long actually. You have a lot of let's play video online. What else do you need to make up your mind about the game system ?
