Sorry I did not mean this happens in this campaign, I meant to write that in campaigns in general some "cheap" stretch goals are covered by other stretch goals who are more expensive than they should ectr, I have no inside information of CBs campaign to suggest CB does or does not do that.
I feel called out here, hard. If my expectations of at least decent editing, good communications, an actual social media / PR specialist hired, communication by the GAME'S AMBASSADOR (Carlos Bostria) not being outright misinformation / lies are "unrealistic", then I don't know how the expectations have sunk so low.
@Nuada Airgetlam dude I'm sorry you feel like this KS isn't living up to your expectations, if I'm honest it didn't meet mine as soon as they revealed the base content because the miniatures themselves just aren't for me but it's cool that a lot of people are liking it, maybe we should just put ourselves in the spectators box and see the positives behind the KS, CB are looking at new things, raising funding for something and ultimately our game, infinity, is going to carry on being supported with new rules, miniatures and honestly the best tabletop community I've encountered
Well, when your expectations are impossible to meet, need some way to justify the bilge and bile your spreading...
Everything between "Year of Tohaa" and "many more awesome miniatures in stretch goals!". Just search the forum for "Bostria" and "lies" and you're bound to see many examples of people calling him out on the company completely missing the selling points he attemted to push. You're not trolling hard enough. Just don't strain yourself.
The issue is that it isn't an extra 20k€ of income, it's an extra 20k€ of turnover. The first thing it has to pay for is producing about 125 extra sets of Defiance, including associated stretch goals. Once that's done it has to pay for producing/picking/packing the chips and dice trays for every pledge that includes them - not just for the current ~2800 Core or higher pledges, but across the whole Kickstarter including all future pledges. Basically, as a producer you have to make sure that your per-pledge production costs go down faster (through economies of scale) than the extra costs of adding the stretch items to each pledge. Not an easy balancing act. :-( EDIT - minor correction, you can afford for the overall per-pledge production cost to go up as the project gets bigger, as long as it stays low enough to make some money!
On a side note (as discussion here is mainly about process, not content): The potentially to be unlocked Defiance Outcast expansion will bring 6 new tiles (Source is just released video from CB: ). I just keep my fingers crossed that this will bring new missions etc. along with it
¿Olla o caldera, mija? Although, the staggering naïveté as to how an ambassador/PR agent/what have you works, plus the preening, self righteous indignation at a company doing things they way they want rather than how some anonymous forumites think they ought is rather amusing...
Guys, you miss somethign too. Kickstarter is not free for the Creators, if something is founded 5% of the founds are the fee for Kickstarter and additional 3 to 5% are for the payment prcession and i doubt a sire like Backerkit is free too. So for a stretchgoal the make only 18k in the worst situation not the 20k for like the stretchgoals to pay for said stretchgoals.
Przyganiał kocioł garnkowi, a sam smali. Not more amusing than the bootlicking deference to a company rep that keeps making promises and then not keeping them. This anonymous forumite is somebody who has already sunk a huge chunk of money into CB product and who is enticed to sink a significant chunk again. Not lying about it would go a long way, you know. You have no way of telling whether I have pledged already or not. And if I did, anyone who did, would be well in their right to feel disappointed in the stretch goals and the general form, direction and style of the Kickstarter. There were many voices like that already, here and in the KS comments section. Many people are indicated in the KS as having retracted their pledge. I wonder why they did so if the company cannot do wrong, apparently?
I think you have deeper issues with CB than just Defiance and its starting to get repetitive. On topic I think we'll see a video on at least one of the expansions today from OnTabletop and I imagine the Kickstarter will be update to reflect when this gets unlocked.
@Nuada Airgetlam Could it be that you are a bit spoiled by Companies that have more experience in doing their business over Kickstarter than CB with their first one? Personly i am in for the game as it may help me growing Infinity in my area and soem great miniatures. I dont expect much from some stretchgoals as others as i mostly back KS that only deliver their products without much extras. I doubt you have seen me as a crusading defender of anyone in this forum, but i think some stuff could be handled worse than CB does. They had a learned stuff with Aristeia! and now they try something new and wil learn from that too. maybe we should try them and help with the reasonable feedback
@Nuada Airgetlam Because things are not evolved the way one interprets them, does not make them lies. Now I think you make a big issue about a backer leaving and if you cared to read the posts you would understand it has nothing to do with the project. I would advice a bit more restrain in accusations and assumptions.
You are annoying little bugger are you? :) Its friday go for pint or smoke weed meet with friends. Catch some fresh air. Hire you just wet fart around.
And yet they keep rolling along, moving forward. And ought I to rank the large purchases of *this* anonymous forumite’s against your own? And in what sane universe would I value your opinion, that seems to in the same vein as a toddler mewling after their parents have taken a sweet away from them, over my own and a company that has fulfilled far more often than not? And that makes me a bootlicker? Pull the other one, it’s got bells on mija.
interesting statements and expectations... in the beginning KS was a platform to give small all new ideas a chance to be developed by some investors who believes in a product. as a "thank you" or/and enhancements of the game (better quality of whatever etc. ) they developed the pledge goals. after some big successes and a big load of pledge goals (cool mini or not is a example) it seems (but thats my personal feeling) that the expactation switched from believing in a game, believing in a concept or whatever on ks or similar plattforms to "a kickstarter needs to be big as hell, i want masses of stuff and if there are tiny enhancements its not enough." that makes me really really sad. for me, i like the idea. i pledged to give them my thumbs up for keeping up new ideas, inventing new stuff und going where no man goes before. so i dont understand why so much saltyness rises.....
From their website, their pricing: Backerkit Essential: 2% of campaign funds + 5% of funds raised in BackerKit + $199 setup fee Backerkit Pro: 3% of campaign funds + 0% of funds raised in BackerKit + $199 setup feeand probably some other add on services that they're happy to charge people for. And just think, then you get to pay taxes.
