Yes, I know what you mean. When I saw the other heroes, I expected another Uberhacker for Nomads, in the 30+ points range, so maybe another Mary Problems, with two Hacking Devices. I mean, she is alone on the turf of the Combined Army, so she has to be flexible. But, like you said, she is an auto-include and my main opponent, mostly playing PanO, is already hating her. In combination with Billie, she is very annoying for an opponent, with 3 repeaters (Billie plus 2 from the pitcher), E/Maulers from Billie and the Maestro-Upgrade, which for the normal HD is really an upgrade. So in the end I am not disappointed. Although she is no Uberhacker, the price/value is extremely good for an extremely annoying profile. Very Nomads-like
Cheapish Zoe & Pi-Well for Corregidor. Wow. Just wow... I mean she's better and cheaper than Gromoz... and the bot can get em+shock template with supportware... and its s1... Wth are they doing with that points pricing? It looks like they intentionally throw in some brokenly powerful characters so more people will order defiance.

No, they're just being bad at character design again. Every single other faction forum Defiance character thread is cautiously optimistic at best, with Donn being the standout with the excellent "I hope he counts as a 5th Wulver." It seems to be a symptom of Nomads and Ariadna apparently having very clear design goals, while most other factions are far more vague.
She is cheap, that's for sure. Autoinclude? I doubt it. Most of the games she will bring the same valeria or alguacile hacker does. I've seen some people missunderstanding and thinking that she works as Mary or an interventor, but she can't. She is just an optimized to hacking, worst at shotting support hacker, similar to the 15-points hacker in O12 If she is in CJC and links with alguaciles, valeria and the alguacile hacker (which we have up to 3 diferent models) go to the shelves, but knowing CB, she would link with wildcats, and maybe only in core. In TJC she (her simbol has TJC colors, and the tactical hackers are from there) she would be even more playable, unlinked, because 2 orders for 24 points is on the "cheap side". But that would be actually good, so I doubt CB do that
Can't argue with that, other characters seem lackluster and overpriced compared to jazz. Well, yeah. Except that she's got free Maestro (you know, that EI program), +1 WIP and +6 BTS upgrade if we compare her to Alguacil Hacker (and BTS is pretty important for hacker). And she gets cybermines. And pitcher. And SMG. For the price of Alguacil Hacker in exchange for 1 Arm and Combi rifle. And for 6 pts more you can add an extra order with s1 repeater with em template that you can turn into shock+em. I mean, seriously, if it does not sound like a waaaay better hacker than anything except maybe Interventor LT or Mary to you then I dunno...
Not free, she loses the combi for a SMG, that thing that makes everything cheaper (I'm not talking to you, but its absurd how people justified the O12 hacker as "normal" or even "bad" and now those same people see jass as OP). Cybermines are crap, really (and their cost is near 0), everything else I agree, is good. Is better? yes, of course, she is better than two of the most basic hackers of the game (alguacile and valeria). What brings that those 2 didn't? maestro... and billie, but if you bring billie, she doesn't link, and without link her options get reduced. Be her 25 base points and H+ (jet H+ would have been cheaper than that), and she would have been awesome, bringing not only maestro, but also white noise and oblivion to CJC, macking her a neat hacker, but no, she remains as basic hacker, so she will just replace the other 2 for people that used them.
By the way, I think he is even better with E/Mauler than he would have been with E/Marat. Between koala, mine, cybermine and E/Mauler, nomads is gonna be able to put down in a few order a network of deployable that can threaten everything from TAG to warband. And it doesn't even matter if your opponent saw you put it down. Once there is 10-15 camo marker on the table, it's insanely hard to keep track of who is who.
Oh, you are right! Silly me, I've mistaken it with E/Marat. But now that means that this repeater bot is even better in terms of hacking since you can drop mine on the corner and then hack through it, forcing to choose ARO between em mine and hacking.
On Jazz herself, I think she is a super solid piece that has a home in most CJC lists and worth the consideration in vanilla, and probably better of solo with Billie. She doesn't add anything to a fire team beyond an easy way to knock off the +3 bonus (If you classify attacking a WIP 14 Maestro as easy) especially considering she is not a killer hacker so she will have to deal with firewalls. Given CJC only having 1 KHD profile that you are probably only taking one of given that multiples of them are awkward to fit in a list she is more difficult to protect, additionally giving up an extra order and repeater for 6 points in exchange for tying her to a FT isn't really worth it. Oh yeah, there's some real fun stuff you can do in the active with him.
you can use a mine as a direct template, E/mauler is strictly better than zapper and you can do the mine trick with a hacker it's even worse: put the mine at the corner than move next order, the target got to dodge the template: you get a free hack, shot a you: he get isolated or you can put the mine then hack it: reset he get the E/mauler in his face dodge he get the hacking program in his face it's very situational but it's free ...
For me, thats make her an autoinclude for CJC. From the three candidates she does her main job best. Only BS-Attack/ARO is worse outside of 8". Not important. Her logo is the same as the generic Vortex Spec-Op, so belongs to all the sectorials, or none in particular.
in FB, CB said she was from corregidor. If she will be in more or other sectorials, I don't know, but giving corregidor another vortex, when BJC needs a deep revision, and they underworked on TJC... I don't like that. Specially when she is gonna replace other options in CJC
