Well, Berserk is... odd. I guess it's nice to have if something gets too close, and I appreciate an attempt on CB's part at making a unit be legitimately 'okay' at CC, as opposed to being strictly awful or amazing. Veteran is nice for once, and makes Lt L2 not entirely a liability on him (even if he personally gets bricked). He's not a god-tier autopick Lt like the Daoying (nor should he be), but could be worth taking every once in a while, especially when you want to shave off points that would be spent on a Daoying. In Invincible, if he's a wildcard, I can see him working really well for the Zhanshi core. I don't see much value in taking him with a Zuyong fireteam. For vanilla... I don't know. At his core, he's a beatstick in a faction with lots of beatsticks. He certainly makes the Yan Huo feel even less attractive, but he himself doesn't look amazingly appealing to me. Maybe if CB reversed their asinine stance on their Executive Order decision, he'd make for an amazing partner for the Hac Tao.
He looks like a combo of Shang Ji and Zuyong. The PH and weapons of a Zuyong, The ARM and BTS of a Shang Ji. I like it! A good threat at long and short range. I don't see using his Berserk too often but I know from Druze Fatality L1 HMG is awesome! Awesomer with BS13 Heavy. I'd take him as a Lt. when I take CoC Tai Sheng.
I agree adding berserk is a nice thing to make him unique. But a knife for CC?? We now habe a Vet lv 1 option. Thats nice.
IF kickstarter projects is what it takes for us to get neat profiles I say they should do it more. Hahah jk.
Well, it pretty much instagibs an annoying Fiday and prevents the Speculo from trying again, should you survive the ARM roll. I like it.
Zuyong character no. 3, how creative. Berserk with a Knife ? This is very, very situational. I agree that he may be useful in a Zhanshi core in IA, if you want them to walk a bit. In Zuyong FT he could only be the 2nd HMG. A solo Zuyong in IA is not the best idea. He is clearly an active Lt L2. So he need a CoC. Best use I see is in Vanilla, if you think 5 Pts may be worth the additional order compared to the TA HMG. But no better shooting. I miss another nice tool. MSV 1 maybe, or a HQ skill lt. like Strategos.
I'm tallying the points and I can't make sense of them, but for once I'm over by a large margin meaning Qiang seems to have been made with the same price table as O-12. I assume that the typo is that Berserk is there at all and there isn't supposed to be a skill in its place?
I hope they are changing how Lt. orders are used in a link. (I’m assuming he may be in a link somehow.) But it would be crazy if like tai sheng can use his Lt. orders but he can’t!
Neat, the only problem was his hilariously big head, but now we got good old Zuyong Helm to cover that freak.
I wish it was something different from the standard Zuyong helmet, perhaps something that would allude more towards what we could expect from a Shang-Ji resculpt. I can live with this, and I wasn't expecting anything more. I get that this was just a quick copy/paste job in reaction to all the (very legitimate) criticism regarding his oversized head. But in a perfect world, Qiang Gao's encephalitis could have been an opportunity.
If only the rest of it were. Qing Gao is Qing Garbage for INFINITY. LT 2 is good I guess for not railroading you into a Daoying but he's not competitive with a Daoying for heaps of other reasons. He's not powerful enough solo to be worth having 2 extra orders to spend on, not tough enough to be an obvious LT, and doesn't synergise well with the NCOs. I hope N4 sorts him out.
WIP 14, does that mean Berserk is Specialist Operative or Forward Observer? I think this one is highly playable, either as LT or as non-LT, but this is once again not a profile that actually addresses any of the numerous flaws that makes the sectorial low to bottom tier.
Maybe CB does not want Invincibles to be competitive. Unfortunately not every Army can be top tier. We just got the short end of the stick on this one.
