7 minutes in, and it's half-funded, with most people going full-in. Not bad for what remains a niche product. Edit: Aaaaand... Funded.
I hoped there would be a separate pledge for miniatures only ... hope lost ;((((( Interesting, will there be separate blister\box releases of those mins? Though... it still cheaper for their metal miniatures...its like 3.6 eur per miniature, which sounds nice...hmm... Are they really able to support that price in that scale? wow
They've not said anything about whether all the minis are KS-exclusive yet. Not to my knowledge, at least. However, 160 euro for 33 Infinity minis strikes me as a helluva bargain on its own, even if you're not interested in the other game components. I'm not sure why you'd want to wait for retail...
From kickstarter experience (backed myself several projects with boardgames, from small to big with tons of plastic) it is never done in time. I'm afraid, retail almost always comes earlier... But I agree though...160eur looks like a bargain
That's totally fair--my KS queue has some projects that are ... late ... But I trust CB to get this done, they know what they're doing. :-)
Must...fight...hype.....I am tempted but it's basically an army pack (that i dont/wont) play with a board game bolt on, anyone offer up a strong argument against that view?
It's based on Aristeia!'s mechanics which are excellent (and made by the same team) and the game itself is clearly a labour of love that they've been itching to do for a long time. You could argue it's more of an awesome boardgame with a bolt-on army pack :P
It's also the first Carlos Belli game that can be played out the box with more than two people, which is a huge personal selling point.
Fair play, I hope they don't end it early, I need to think it over some more, I've just dropped the ks fee+ on more pan O and a new JSA army
Look at it this way, you don't actually need the shasvastii to play the game since you can use tokens and not all shasvastii players will get the thing, you could buy it, sell the minis and keep all of the other stuff
Ditto. I’m stoked for a game in my favorite universe that I can play with rather than against my wife and daughters.
Pledged wwith an all-in. Can't wait to see what the Outcast addon will provide (aside from Raoul) for O-12 <3
I was hyped for an entry-level gaming experience to lure more friends into Infinity, but after reading the rules I might give it a pass after all. The mechanisms look a lot like Aristeia Lite, with a lower combo potential, no tactics decks and no live opponent. Right now my personal benchmark for a dungeon crawl experience is Gloomhaven, a game that gives you interesting meaningful choices every round. Defiance looks more like a "move and shoot or shoot and shoot?" experience and I think I've had enough of that in numerous other dungeon crawlers already.
I have yet to play Gloomhave, but it is on the list of Games To Play. Are they getting tired of having to let you win once in a while? [Image of triumphant young daughter telling despondent looking dad to 'git gud'.]
