Hey all, I haven't had a lot of changes to play much lately. I got my first chance to use an Arjuna last weekend... I played against MaF which neuters the emarats but didn't matter... I got my Arjuna sniped by a yaogat first turn due to some poor placement on my part... Anyone have some experiences I can live vicariously through? How have they been performing for everyone? I have a hard time putting them in lists they "feel" expensive but I really want to like them so I'm going to keep at it.
Good reminder, though that particular list lacked a regular hacking device. (Centered around a Shakti, hmg nco, Deva spitfire haris, which did good work).
They're pretty solid for board control. The one time I used them they only had two orders spent on them to position on a flank, but nothing came near them, they totally denied the flank to my opponent
I think e-marat is a non lethal weapon so you cannot give shock Enviado desde mi Mi A1 mediante Tapatalk
Hello, Arjuna (the profiles, not the miniature) is one of the reasons to play OSS, you can have 2 of them. Arjuna is a fragile piece of attack but too a defensive (and frustrating) one. Even when the E/Marat don't work so well against rules as "veterans" or "morat", still you can stop HI, REMs or TAGs. And against "non hack units" you can deploy "cibermines" in order to do the rival loose orders trying to do "discover+shoot". If the corridor is not really wide, at least more than 6cm (3 inches) if you place the cibermine in half the enemy can't go throw the cibermine because is an enemy marker and you can't move "touching" the marker. So, you can use it to delay his turn. Even place the kinrabots in her way will made the enemy loose time and resources and you loose almost nothing. :) Go Arjuna, Go!!
I tried the arjuna this weekend and she was my MVP. She is indeed fragile, and this is the main (only ?) problem i see with her. Still, she is a versatile troop who can both attack (fast, good weaponry, sync rems) and defend (she's no joke in suppressive fire, and her E/M rems can stop every rambo that is not veteran or morat). I don't really know what to do with the cybermines but it may be me.
Hello Is there some kind of joke with Arjuna: Arjuna is MI, so in ITS11 it has an option to deploy with forward deployment lvl1 Bots is rem, so they don't have such option, right?
Comboing the Arjuna with bots with a HD+ also makes the linked Kamau sniper problem go away, in fact it makes all MSV wielding ARO pieces become a non issue and risk free engagements.
I think OSS can stall when it hits a midfield that's full of mines and cheap direct template weapons. I think the Arjuna's one of the few tools that can sweep mines pretty effectively, without having to risk NWI guys against them.
I'd favour Dart for a similar role, but she's certainly nowhere near as expendable as some Kiranbots - nor can she be in as many places as once.
For mines there is also Lucien Sforza, but i think arjuna is better all around - E/M templates are nasty and she has better rangebands on her weapons.
The Good Father's X-Visor is a pretty interesting/useful tool when combined with a viral rifle and an Adhesive Launcher. Arjuna is pretty sweet but Lucien definitely pulls some neat shenanigans.
I see Sforza more as a big deterrent than someone really reliable. For example ADHL can indeed stop anything with one hit ... provided you succeed with that single dice. Same thing with viral rifle, you can really deal some very nasty wounds, but you will most probably hit on -3 (range 0, cover -3). The arjuna have better chances to shoot at +3, and has mimetism as a malus for the opponent, so i feel like she can do more. On the other hand, there are so many tricks one can do with holo 2 - but it's not an equipment i'm using often, so i may not realize its whole power.
Yeah you definitely won't be relying on him every game like you would with an Arjuna. But depending on the army/table setting Sforza on the back edge of a board can get you some basically free ADHL Shots at a reasonable ~7-10 to hit. He's also very good at getting into Suppressive Position using the free Holo 2 placement. And then the X-Visor eliminates the one bad range band. And a supressive, dogged, BS13, Viral Rifle isn't something most armies want to walk in on if they can avoid it.
She is ok, but I find it really hard to justify her price for a 1w unit with no marker state. One wrong crit and shes gone. Also, spitfire is fairly expensive on SWC in a army where most of your SWC is going to be locked out because of your dakini fireteam. Overall, I find OSS a bit too... clunky. The things that make the army work - Posthumans, Dakinis and Dart - make it really hard to explore other options because they are so much better / more efficient than the other options. What I find is that I start building a effective OSS list with very little variation on its base, and then im left with a bit over 100 points on what i can customize.
