Welcome back to class, students. Today we will be continuing our overview of the Human Sphere's remaining independent states. As we finished covering the Russian Republic last week, we will be moving on to our next nation. Given as today is also the centennial for the San Diego Truce, we will be covering the FSA...

    - Dr. Antonia Helzer,
Nation-States of the Human Sphere, excerpt from Lecture 15 of 45, University of Novo Sião, NeoTerra

This is something of a passion-project of mine: a fleshed-out American faction for Infinity, exploring how Eagleland might have gone after PanOceania knocked it down and kicked it in the head a few times. It contains a history of the United States post-Project DAWN, and a full suite of troops in both 'vanilla' form and three sectorials.

Here's a link, as the document is apparently too large to upload here.

I hope you enjoy it, as I certainly did enjoy making it. Constructive criticism is welcome, as I haven't exactly had a chance to try it out on the tabletop.

@laundreu Are you arcaneCalligramancer? I read your work and I think it's done very well. Enjoyed the lore you presented even though I have thought America's history after the war would transpire differently. Regardless of my personal thoughts I think this idea of yours is great and is a good springboard for Earth sectorials if CB decides to go down that route.

I posted this work of your in the fanfic section of the forums before realizing that you already posted here. I hope that you're ok with that mistake on my part.

I am yes! I wasn't sure if this would count as fanfiction since so much of it is units and the like.

It think it would fit into the fanfiction section as well. After all you wrote alot of lore. Lookign forward to any more ideas that you will come up with in the future.

Looks fun. I'm trying to make my own "Unseen Armies" homebrews for lulz, and you've taken a pretty interesting approach with your America. Are you doing/have you done Russia, Nigeria, or even earth-based forces of PanO and YuJing?

Wasn't there a list or a piece of lore that mentioned the remaining nations of earth that are not part of the Hyperpowers or Haqqislam? I'm curious as to how many there are left. Could make for some interesting armies or background for stories.

RPG mentions Nigeria, Russia, the remnants of the US, Iceland and Israel.

AFAIK, PanO covers much of South America, Oceania, the former EU, and parts of Asia like India, Pakistan, Indonesia and so on. YuJing covers modern China, Korea, Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, etc, and probably has reunified Taiwan into their territory. It's likely they also have Mongolia and parts of Siberia, though of course Japan is now independent. IIRC PanO's earth troops are the Earth Bastion, and YuJing's Yellow Banner army holds their Earthly territories.

Haqqislamite influences may hold strong in the Middle East, but it's quite likely the "Old" Islamic faith still holds strong in some nations, even if a significant amount have shifted to Haqqislam. Of course, some modern Muslim nations are actually part of PanOceania, but the rest that aren't Haqq probably stay independent, albeit under influence from the Haqq and PanO ties.

Russia is said to be trying to reclaim territories, possibly independence movements or seeking the return of the Russian Empire. Nigeria is implied to maybe be the biggest fish in the small pond that is Earth in Infinity, and would likely have immense influence across Africa.

I would think that Nigeria would have some friendly relations with Haqqislam and the Church of PanO due to the religious population that the country has today. Considering that Christians are mostly in the south and middle of the nation while Muslims are the majority in the north. Today Christians are slaughtered in Nigeria mainly in the northern regions where Sharia Penal law has cause an increase in Muslim on Christian violence. I'm talking about small scale massacres that would make you sick.

Because of this duel population I think the nation would accept Haqqislam over today's Islam since it would help keep peace between the two bodies. Along with the reasoning to end the violent slaughtering and unite the people of the nation. Around 40-50% of the population are Christian with around 50% Muslim according to census numbers. So the ideals of Haqqislam would be pushed and after some vicious fighting the combined Christian/Muslim forces would overcome the "old way" and welcome the new Islam. Keeping good relations with both major religious institutions of PanO & Haqq due to the near population split. I can see many pointing to Nigeria as an example of how both religious can peacefully coexist together. Though I still believe that the Muslim on Christian violence of the past will still happen but not be as prevalent as before. With a little help from the government in covering up the attacks they are able to.

In a recent interview Gutier also mentioned Canada as one of the "left behind" nations of Earth.

Russia's big problem is that TAK does a pretty good job of Russia! I didn't really look at Nigeria or PanO's earth-based forces, though I do have a mostly-complete sectorial for Vietnam - a lot smaller than the America project, being something closer to the Invincible Army's addition to Yu Jing.

With regards to Canada - weird! I always thought they'd be a part of PanOceania.

I guess not. I wonder why they haven't joined PanO then or why PanO didn't extend an offer to them? I'm hoping that we get some more lore of Earth and the state of the non-hyperpower nation states. It will be interesting to see how the map of the world looks like in the current day of Infinity's timeline.

Most of the Hyperpower is made up of either nations which joined early for defensive purposes, or those which it took over due to economic weakness.

I guess the Canadian economy never totally crashed, nor did they ever feel the desperate need for the protection of a union.

It would kind of make sense for several of the more stable non-superpower countries left on Earth to be quasi-members of O-12, wouldn't it? Sort of how a large amount of countries rely on the UN or being affiliate of NATO/PAC for political protection, trade or financial aid (varying compositions). Is that sort of what Canada does to stave off Yu Jing / Pan-O?

They likely have a seat, or possibly two, in the Oberhaus (it would vary from time to time).

There is also one seat on the Security Council for all of the "non-aligned" nations.

TAK is of course Space Russia, but Earth Russia could be an interesting show of divergence. Maybe it's neo-Tsarist, maybe it's Communism 2: Electric Boogaloo, maybe it's shifted into a full blown plutocracy of oligarchs, maybe it's all three and more vying for control.

As for Canada, perhaps the British Royal Family has run off there since everywhere else under the Crown's dominion is presumably now part of PanOceania, and as one of the last independent kingdoms in existence has fought to remain so politically. Presumably only Morocco is the other one if they're not Haqqislamite, most others having either only just regained independence (Japan) or being absorbed into one of the major powers.

I hypothesized that Canada makes it money now assisting the hyper powers set up logistics networks and resource mining plans on new colonies. Given the geographical size of the country and the challenges Canada has faced as a result, we should have the expertise to at least sell some skilled specialists.

Actually, we know that Haqqislam does not include most of the existing Arabic "Islamic" Kingdoms of today.

They likely still exist (in one form or another) as additional members of the "non-aligned" nations.

I imagine a lot of Australians would have been involved in the initial off world mining expeditions.

Maybe Canada had pivoted to an economy based purely on maple syrup, hunky lumberjacks, and apologies...

Loved the doc - and I also like how each 'sectorial' as a fairly unique flavour to it.

Just wanted to clarify - is Teddy meant to only be linkable in the Frontier sectorial and not the FEMA sectorial - if so, I really like it, like how the Frontier folk are more willing to work with a Recreation who has proven herself vs the FEMA who are still wary of an Aleph construct.

My favourite fluff for a unit though is the Agents of the Postal Office - the idea of just a bunch of TO guys running around with exclusively Viral/Breaker/Nano ammo so their passing looks like just another 'nanostorm accident' is super cool.

Also the idea of Raoul Spector getting his head kicked in by an mutated baggage donkey is hysterical.
