New SpecuLAD Killer!

 

From what we have seen so far it looks like this initial release of Defiance will focus on Shasvastii with very little non-Shas CA models.

Does anyone know based on playing the demos how difficult it would be to create additional missions and foes for Defiance? Might be fun to throw some Morats or Onyx in the mix

 

That is the thing I dislike the most right now about Defiance: the game needs more enemy races.
As I said in another post, Defiance seems to be a paid DLC for Infinity Shasvastii players.

 

I feel you, but I think it really makes sense to ensure that buying into Defiance gives you a playable CA force. Not sure how easily that could have been done with vanilla, but the approach makes sense.

If CB takes some time to release a set of AI cards for additional CA models (either as free downloads or for the price of 1-2 classified decks), I‘d be more than happy. Alternatively, that would still be a cool community project

 

I think it was mentioned several other factions as enemies as stretch goals/extras. PanO was used as an example, however.

 

Well, 0-12 was confirmed to have a significant presence in Defiance on last week's BoW Weekender.

 

D'oh... The protagonists are Bureau Noir agents XD (or some other Bureau anyway), so yeah, O 12 is the protagonist as the good guys XD

 

Was there more info on Defiance, i.e. is that worth to watch for people who aren’t fans of BoW?

 

We've already seen allied NPCs like Valkyrie so I can imagine most of the Wildfire O-12 crew showing up that way.

That's the second time you've written that, and it's still bizarre.

If your complaint is "I'm afraid I'm going to have to pay money for pieces of cardboard that I'm not going to use, just to get the Infinity model I want", that's possibly justified. Anything else is essentially, "Oh, no, the Shasvastii players can finally buy their models, but the label on the box is the wrong color."

I mean, really. If Corvus Belli decided to put all of the discontinued Tohaa models back in production with new sculpts but there are "Defiance" stickers on their boxes, the reaction in the Tohaa forum would not be "How dare CB try to sell us Tohaa models!"

 

I think the extended fear is that the only way to get the full range of Shasvastii (understanding it not as full AVA models WYSIWYG but enough numbers to make varied lists without being forced to proxy a model as another troop, being OK to proxy a model as another loadout of the same troop) will be getting the collector's edition of Defiance, which is a limited window event, without the knowledge of what, if any, releases will Shasvastii get besides Beyond Wildfire, the Cadmus, Widlfire, and the second Mentor.

I'm afraid the only way to solve those issues would be an official declaration from CB assuring that all Shasvastii troops will get box/blister releases between the end of the KS and its delivery, or at least a big enough % of the total.

In other words: it feels like the only way to get the Shasvastii models not already being sold (plus the promised Mentor blister) before the KS gets delivered to the backers is... none. So grab the KS, or wait who knows how long until possible after the KS gets resolved.
