Ah yes, crooked guns. Highly inaccurate and with drastically reduced ballistic performance. Unfortunately in Infinity terms it wouldn't be very OP because a solution to the problem was developed during WW2 (high calibre weapons carried by infantry squads) which means you'd spot the periscope gun making the attack and then shoot the wall roughly 50-80cm from the muzzle. Most walls won't stop the bullets and some bullets (I'd imagine DA rounds from a Multi Sniper) will be hitting with enough force to turn the wall into a direct template weapon. Still, something a bit less crude might be possible, such as a gun that shoots tiny missiles - essentially smart bullets from Who Framed Roger Rabit... possibly a lot smarter than those come think of it - capable of Speculative Fire without Impact Templates.
Some form of deployable remote camera would be interesting. They exist IRL after all. Could work like a repeater from a pitcher, but be more for covering lines of fire. Friendly Forward Observers could tap into it, allowing them to use the camera as their point for measuring range on discover rolls, for use of Forward Observer... LOM Profile: ARM/BTS/STR /S 0 0 1 1 Light Observation Modules are remote cameras designed to enhance the line of sight of a squad, and to allow for a safer observation of potential nearby threats. The most commonly seen variant is a small camera fired by a modified pitcher device, but a bulkier deployable device can also be manually placed, the latter variant being slightly cheaper and more common amongst lower tech forces. Devices similar to LOMs were in use from around the end of the 20th century by numerous armed forces. The modern iteration of the devices emerged from enterprising Fusiliers modifying rugged handheld cameras to have a simple remote uplink, an idea soon swiftly copied by numerous other forces in a more formal form. @Del S, that looks a lot like a Repeater for Forward Observers, and is something I would absolutely love to have. More than any of my own ideas, actually. Being able to safely observe ARO pieces like the Kamau or get LoS around corners before the reactive turn so troops with Stealth can't stab your guys in the back could be a real game-changer. I can't stress enough how awesome this is.
That gave me Beyond Good and Evil flashbacks. It would be a neat game to have a team of (or just one) journalists infiltrating a corporate base to find their evil dirty secrets! They have to be sneaky and not get spotted!
With the 012 Spess Poleece coming, I think there should be a new less lethal option with flexibility. Or rather, an old one. Riot Shotguns! Like a light shotgun but with multi-type ammo, probably just plain light multi rather than a template. DA is breaching rounds, AP or Shock is different slugs, and stun is... Stun slugs? Maybe even an SMG like stun blaster, with N and Stun modes rather than AP and Shock.
We already have people freaking out over direct template adhl, let's see what happens when we get spec fire adhl How about a Zweistossflammenwerfer? An Einstossflammenwerfer, but, yk'now, two shots. And what about a bouncing betty mine, like a regular mine but if someone triggers it, fires a shotgun shell at them or a grenade rather than a direct template. That could be fired from a mine Launcher, fairly short range, only has 2/3 mines, has a direct fire mode that's just a grenade launcher with a waste of a mine. Maybe a little bit more powerful than a grenade, like shock or da.
Koala launcher. Not krazykoala launcher, just fire's regular furry balls of chlamydia at people. Pano finally gets it own version of viral weaponry. Also, would like more weapons that do non damage things. Kind of like jammers but dunno, different. Maybe stuff that overrides optical distortion or lays down a template that does x to people passing through. Anyone remember that terrible final fantasy cg movie? The opening scene where the drop troops dive into this wierd jello thing. Imagine disposable e/q like that that mitigates fall damage for 1 turn so snipers can leave roosts and such. I know infinity has enough complexity as it is but some more utility weapons and equipment would be cool. Also, please koala launcher.
Did anyone suggest throwing knives/shurikens yet? Range 8 max, either 0 or +3, maybe with viral variant. And what about a d-charge launcher, no CC use, but otherwise just a range 24 d charge thrower.
