So... what are we dealing here with? 14 Taiga? 14 Nox?
    Either way, way too much.

And yet, I can buy Blackstone Fortress for a quarter or even a 5th of the price of the biggest Defiance edition. Even with all the add-ons it doesn't come close.

And yet does GW often have duplicate sculpts in their products. Blackstone Fortress at least, has.

All Defiance sculpts that were spoilered till now count to 25 including the 4 heroes. All unique sculpts.

It's pretty easily possible to bump this up by adding more than 3 Nox, more than 3 Taigha (I'm hoping for at least 4) by adding the Billy Remote of the Nomad Hackeress, by adding more Heroes (plus one toaster if Aleph is included). And it still leaves some room for more, so I'm really looking forward to the start of the Kickstarter.

And a fifth of the price? I must have missed that Defiance is around 600 bucks.
If you look at it realistically, Defiance Deluxe is around double the price of the GW product and has around double the number of unique sculpts. Sounds more than reasonable for me.

And the sculpts are great ... some sculpts are done by Javier Urena, alone this is worth it.

So, to each his own, but count me in.

Yeah, that ratio does not make sense. Blackstone Fortress costs more than 100€ here in Central Europe

Yeah, my reseller sells GW items for ~70% of MSRP, which is itself lower than other coutries aside from UK (lowest markup for foreign sales). BF's price comes out to about a quarter or even a 5th of what I'd need to pay to Kickstart Defiance in PLN, especially with currency conversion and PayPal fees included, shipment to Poland - not to mention that I have to freeze the money for an unspecified amount of time, while the BF purchase gives me the models immediately.

I want the models in Defiance, but the asking price is way too high, especially for delayed delivery and a game that I don't care for at all.

You try living between Germany and Russia for a few centuries, have to tell them to git offa our lawn every so often and then not turn out grumpy yourself! :D

I'd love to have all the sculpts. The price that was leaked is prohibitive, that's all I'm saying.

We have high intensity of beautiful girls per square meter. Quite pleasant four-season weather. Excellent food and not only good vodka but hell lots of craft beers now. Free quite good health care. And you can do university for free. And then go to any UE country and work on a kitchen sink or warehouse;). Live is not that bad then :)))
Ad1666 metal minis pladge was like 410$.
And bonus for me. I watch "Core Space" lets play fev days ago.Looks really like cool game and should be easy to swap minis for Defiance ones.

If it's 250 bucks für 50 miniatures I consider this quite a discount compared to normal prices. And in addition I get a game for free.

Even if I don't need or want every minature, It's still not overpriced compared to normal CB prices.

If you look at post #128:

It's no official announce, since Kickstarter didn't start yet, but its a good guesstimate.

Ugh. Every time I read a new blog post for Defiance, I want the game less:

We decided to make an AI. We wanted to put the decision tree on each individual card but that gave players too much info (really? I know games that randomise that well enough, and info is what guides tactical decisions).

So then we decided to make 4 AI decks, but that was too much to handle (why? I mean, you just draw one card at a time, it's not rocket science).

So then we made one deck, but with double-sided cards (yeah, that's not gonna look messy. Also, way to force people who don't like it into transparent sleeves).

But some enemies are gonna keep their own AI (so, how many decks is too many again?).

And then a bunch of icons that make no sense to me (never a good sign when you don't have an inkling of what an icons represents, even after reading the explanation of what it does).

I know, I know, I'm probably being unfair and overly cynical. I also know I'll probably back this anyway, because I'm a sucker for all things Kickstarter with minis inside. But really, the communication could be better.

Did you read the blog post? The AI card has 2 parts on the same face. There is the blue half and the red half. You can use your sleeves with backs. They mentioned that certain enemies override the AI with rules -on their card-. There is only 1 deck.

Ah, got it. I was confused by the first picture with a red and a blue card, but I realize that’s not what they’re going for.

For the other bit, I THINK you are correct, but it’s not entirely clear: “Some enemies got to keep their own AI despite having an Artificial Intelligence deck.”

The double sided red/blue cards are the enemy cards, not the AI deck itself.

Enemies having their own AI included Taigha as an example so I'm assuming Taigha have rules that override whatever the AI deck says, without seeing more examples of both event cards and AI deck cards it's hard to say for sure though.

That's basically a copy of the decision trees from games like Blackstone Fortress, just with cards instead of a dice roll on a table.

Which is a good idea, imo.
The card is more straightforward than rolling & cross referencing, because the full sequence of AI actions is listed for a single randomisation. There’s less cognitive load with this mechanic.
In fact, the card sequence is very similar to the enemy AI in the FFG apps for descent and imperial assault.
    Me gusta.

Not really. BF has one table per enemy type, which leads to a variety of behaviors that depend on what you encounter. Also the tables are visible to all players, so you know the probabilities of each enemy’s actions. This allows you to actually strategize, compared to hidden random outcomes. Not saying BF is a game of amazing depth, but that type of system - BF is hardly the only game to have this - has known pros and cons.
