OK, guys that the time. The title is self explanatory. Neema and Rasail are Spiral best Spitfire option [Insert sad Anaconda face]. Both can play a similiar role, but they are different enough to make some valutation. So lady first : Neema Saatar PRO - +1 BS, this for me is important for the fact that both Neema and Rasail doesn't have visors so just 1 point can make the difference; - Frenzy , +1 extra order if you want to go full Rambo is not bad, if Neema is your Lietunant she has 2 order all for her; - +1 Command Token if chosen as Lieutenant; - Lieutenant Spitfire is 0.5 SWC cheaper; - CC 21 + MA lv2 means that she can't be blocked in CC by random dude; - Fire Team : Triad - BTS 9 - WIP 15 Rasail PRO - 4 cheaper for the Spitfire profile, 9 cheaper for the Lieutenant+ Spitfire option; - Always cover means Rasail is general harder to kill thanks to "better" ARM 1+3 vs ARM 3 and the -3 BS. - Rasail in suppressive fire gives the enemy a powerful -6 to his BS even on a open field; - Chaksa buddy open a lot of option/trick without exposing the Rasail; Now it seems clear that Neema is the best of the two, but we have to admit that a lot of Neema Pro comes from her being the lieutenant, this come with the cost of having to play a Chain of Command kaeltar if you want to play safe. That told I feel that the Rasail is the best Rambo unit. Having a Chaksa and being more resilient in Suppressive Fire thanks to the -6 I think he is the best if you want to go for a flank, kill some trooper than going into suppressive, the chaksa helps him with Camo, mine and sacrifical run to Link Team. I think Neema is good if you want to go with a Triad, giving her one specialist and make her do the heavy lifting while "escorting" the button pusher. Neema can clearly work as a Solo piece too, but I think the Rasail is the better option for this. What your opinion guys ?
Yeah, I think as a solo piece the Rasail is better, but don't forget that Spiral can have a Tri-Core. And Neema in a Tri-Core seems superior to the Rasail. Add in a Kriigel SLG and she can advance easier than the nanoscreened Rasail with smoke and/or Mirrorball, and she can use the Stealth-noStealth-ARO-exploid for an uncontested Melee attack.
I had a game of aquisition recently where I had the following tricore. Spiral Corps──────────────────────────────────────────────────3 DRAAL (Minelayer) Submachine Gun, Pulzar, D-Charges, Antipersonnel Mines / Viral Pistol, Knife. (1 | 31) NEEMA Lieutenant (Advanced Command) Spitfire, Nanopulser / Viral Pistol, Shock CCW. (1.5 | 48) TAAGMA (Tri-Core) Breaker Combi Rifle, Nanopulser / Pistol, Knife. (1 | 21) 3.5 SWC | 100 PointsOpen in Infinity Army Neema was my data tracker and the taagma was holo'd as a kosuil K1 combi engineer. Turn 1 the tricore moved for the tech coffin, killing anyone they saw on the way, and the draal was laying mines to cover the advance from my opponent. Neema than set up using the tech coffin as cover, with the draal and taagma covering angles as well. Neither neema or the draal lost their symbio mates that game, and shooting advancing varangians and hypolita, contesting their smoke throws, hitting 2 shots on 19's on the reactive was beast mode. I haven't had much luck with the rasail, but I may be playing him too aggressively, and leaving him exposed needlessly on the reactive turn. Though I've also found that the combi + antipersonell mine option to be slightly more attractive, as it allows for some mine then force aro interactions. Combine that with the chaksa and the nanoscreen, this can be very attractive as well.
Another important note is that the Rasail is not hackable, while Neema has stealth and BTS 9 (which are both great) its something the Rasail doesn't even consider. I'll be honest I almost never use the Spitfire rasail, the viral and combi have both been great for me though.
Rasail with Viral sure is a good layout, especially if you want to expend that 2 SWC on other things. My problem is that Rasail and Neema are the only viable Spitfire option we have, especially with Neema passing on a sweet B5 is hard. I really hope for an unpgrade for the Anaconda in N4, having an HMG on a good body could help SC a lot and give us more list to play. Another piece that I think is understimated is the Kosuil. 25 point for a K1 combi Rifle with 2 wounds and the chance to go on a Triad + Minelayer could be one of our best answer for big scary things.
what about the kiel saan redfury instead of the rasail, he's really that bad that no one mention him ?
I'm sure someone has already done the math on whats better but I've been finding spitfire Neema replacing the marksman Draal as my attack piece in the Tri-Core. the extra burst and durability past the first turn have really come through for me.
I can't find a reason to field him rather than Neema or Rasail. 53 point are to much for what he brings to the table. It's a pity cause the model is awesome.
If he could go into the Tri-Core I would definitely take him. Being limited to super expensive links or running solo makes him a hard sell compared to Neema or the Rasail which are cheaper.
Anaconda is definitely useable particularly with a brawler doing his best Chaksa Auxiliary impersonation. Big thing to remember is hes not a TAG. Hes just a very very large Azra Il. Kosuil was hot stuff in Vanilla tohaa for a while so I wouldn't be surprised if they were good in Spiral too.
