Though seeing Ariadna taking a diplomatic route for once instead of piling bodies on a situation in the typical way.
I am imagining Gutier with this idea in mind. "Oh yea this will probably happen..." Haqqislam: *flicks bic lighter* Gutier: What are you doing? Haqqislam: *lights Gutiers fiction on fire*
Nah. The whole mess is all too easy to sort out from Gutierrez's point of view and the amount of power a gamemaster wields. Simply write it off as a minor skirmish in a place of no consequence. Sure, factions went nuts - but in the end, it simply a piece of rock in the ass-end of Human Sphere. It is not like the campaign is taking place across the entire Sphere, and going to decide its fate. As of now (Phase 1), it seems to be of even less consequence than any of the previous campaigns. The sole exception would be the fate of the Ikari Company, who call Novyy Bangkok their home turf - but they are a merc company. They can just as easily relocate anywhere else... Also, as far as I've seen in the previous campaigns, CB has a complete narrative ready well in advance. We're merely playing out a scenario they have devised. They know how it is supposed to end, anyway - and our squabble is merely a minor road bump in it. Keep in mind - we're still in Phase 1. Meaning there will be changes in Phase 2, and I supposes the 4 factions who lack territory now (Combined Army, Aleph, O-12 and Tohaa) are likely to get new territories in Phase 2. Well ,at least 3 of them , as the diagram seems to gave just enough free space to accomodate 3 new territories...
lol. it was only a matter of time. as for everyone else? no idea. this is a 4 faction campaign at the moment. Shasvaasti seems to only exist as a ghost inside Ariadna, Tohaa, and Haqqislam.
I was REALLY hoping Combined would take advantage of this...or something. It really is a 4 faction campaign. Which is a shame. Or Shas are just sitting in the shadows like yeeessssss
Combined tried to act hard in the Maze, but Aleph striked harder. Their tries in Xaraks wasn't also just enough given it's the center of attention right now for too much more powerful factions at that time.
I couldn't even get a game in and I already have fun, I actually hope some of the IC stuff actually impacts the canon. I find it really intresting and thematic that Tohaa split in three thanks to the gate fall. Spiral Corps, Trident and Sentinels.
What I really wish was that CA was more of a threat for this. They have a tough time with fewer players and only scoring 3 points per win. Hopefully they'll come out strong in phase two.
Yup, it is a problem again - despite CA having no territory to defend, they seem to be less active than we'd expect.
Problem if CA had a base a huge part of the battles would be at that base or at least that could happen because everyone wants to beat CA
It would have been good if CA had a base or two. Though everyone would jump on them, that could be mitigated with point scored values. As it stands, CA continues to be little more than a boogeyman for the other factions to throw around to justify actions.
