The Kurgat is actually a pretty neat choice if you're worried about Jammers as he's immune to their effects, whereas if a Ghazi managed the unlikely feat of bricking an Avatar it can do the same to Dr Worm.
I'd like to see Shas get a little more BTS across the board, I think its fitting they have low armour, but it would be thematically accurate to have them with a higher BTS, being adaption and evolution specialists.
I’d really like this as well and too think it fitting with the background. But at the same time they shouldn’t really get tougher. They should feel like cockroaches that you squish if you can catch them. More BTS might also push their costs from manageble to just a bit too high.
So, weird thought, but I would like to see the Combined Army expanded and more factions aligned with it to be introduced, to the point that I would be ok with humanity being put on hold for a while As it stands the Combined army is scary, yes, but they don't quite come off as the huge looming coallition of super-powerful aliens that I feel they should be, and I have found the fact that they are a single alien faction kinda disappointing for new players
I wonder if Defiance will see a surge of people playing Shasvastii, since the minis for it are supposed to basically be a Shas 300 point box. They could probably add 3 more sectorials to CA without even making up more lore (Sygmaa, Exrah, and Ur/EI).
The only differences between Holo2 and Holo3 are that Holo3 isn't NFB and can be used in a fireteam. I'm excited for a TO Camo + Holo 3 TAG and/or a linkable Sphinx.
Skiavoros LT with spitfire or HD+ Anathematics Sepsitor+ or LT spitfire or just BS14 for his price Umbra shock immunity (because it's with a few exceptions in all new units with V:NWI)
Just kinda idly: it'd be neat if N4 pretas exchanged their chain rifles for chest mines. It feels like chest mines way better capture the actual biological mechanism a preta has (and also is a call-back to older editions where they actually had a mine-like capability).
I'll echo what everyone else has said: Umbras are way too bad, Aspects feel a little overcosted for what they do, the Kurgat autocannon needs a reason to exists, Morats in general are still not as good as they should be. I don't get why the Fraacta has Transmutation, rather than Symbiote Armor. The Maakrep needs a buff, too - Symbiote Armor would be nice and synch with its fluff and its Automedikit. I would love -some- other option to place repeaters than Bit and Kiss, for right now, they're basically an auto-include in all my lists, and auto-includes are boring. But the thing that irritates me the most if that CB tends to design stuff so that you can never get all the cool stuff in one package. Would it really be broken with a Charontid that has both MSV 3, HMG and Sepsitor? Why can't I have both a Hacking device and a HMG? etc. I wanna play with a Sepsitor, but the Charontid profiles that has a Sepsitor are so bad compared to the MSV3+HMG... The Umbras has the same problem; if you want the Hacking Device, you get penalized by only being able to have a shotgun...
The thing about that is that if you have one option that has everything, there's never a reason to take other options. In a perfectly designed unit, it's always a hard choice which one to take.
Not to mention, an MSV3 sepsitor+ charontid HMG would cost more than 90pts. Even with a points drop for Mnemonica units, it'd be devilishly hard to afford. (Also, the Charontid HD+ with plasma rifle is a shockingly underrated unit. For me it outshines the HMG MSV3 a surprising amount of the time, although I don't blame anyone for rating the HMG profile highly.)
Alright, I would like to get back on a few points about MAF that I don't think were brought up: As of now MAF has been in the best place it could be since forever. We have a fuckload of fireteams, and we can play most ITS missions to a satisfactory degree. We can run LI lists that have 12-13 orders to burn, and we can order spam like a champ too. All in all, MAF has one BIG problem: The reactive turn. MAFs reactive turn is so poor it can often cripple the monkeys before they have a chance to unleash their destructive power. We know for a fact stuff like Camouflage is never making it to MAF and I am fine with that. So let's talk about some stuff that could make it to the morat forces and how it would improve their reactive turn: - Perimetral weapons. The Gangbuster has shown us that Nomads do not have a monopoly on mimetism infiltrating skirmishers with perimetral weapons. MAF could really use a new skirmisher profile that packs mimetism and some kind of explodey goodness like KrazyKoalas. Make it another female model and you will please both the model enthusiasts and the ITS enthusiasts; - Minelayer. Sapper seems to be a Shasvastii domain skill, so I don't think we'll ever get that. Minelayer is something I am more hoping that CB would be willing to give to MAF. Kurgats and Zerats are prime candidates for getting the minelayer skill, and Rodoks would certainly benefit from it too. - More smoke options. I've forgotten how good smoke is, and MAF has some great smoke platforms. Daturazi could use a small points review (dropping them to 12-13 points would be awesome) and/or get a haris option for a small but effective smoke throwing team. If these guys are cheap enough that we can afford to take 3 instead of 2, leaving some of them in the open to chuck smoke in the reactive starts to become a possible strategy. I really hope CB takes in these suggestions and works at least one of them into their N4 update for MAF. Expectancies are lower than ever, but I will remain positive.
