Are we sure they are going to rebalance every faction in the game ? That seems like a very big task in one year. I don't think such a small team as CB can do it. My bet is don't expect much rebalance after the release of N4. Gutier said on White Noise they aim at a more simple and streamlined game (which is great imo) and that will probably affect the profil on the margin like replacing molotok wih AP spitfire or recosting weapons according to its new rule.
My changes for a brand new N4 Merovingia would be: -Loup Garous get access to motorised profiles like the dynamos, without impetuous and with duo. Motorbike riot control police. Special duo, motorised 112 and a Loup garou. Do with the AVA as with the 112, if you take a Loup, motorised or not, it counts for the total AVA of the Loups. -Zuoaves cap discount, all go to 0 except special weapons. They get one of these three: mimetism, minelayer profiles or an haris option. They are mechanized deployment well trained troops, they have to be at least good at concealment or at keeping ground together. -Bruant gets Dogged skill, mines and mimetism. He is a dirty player and a hard to kill bastard, let him look like that. -Anaconda gets a special duo with alguacil hacker. The Nomads sellswords working together as a buy a tag and get the personal protection offer. -Moblots wildcard, up to 1 Moblot per fireteam. They are the hard trained special operations leader guys, let them guide the people. And for now thats my wishlisting. I already find Merovingia interesting, both in gameplay and fluff, and found the haris and mixed core additions nice, but it is nice to wishlist a bit :p The only thing of the above that i find important is the Zuoaves cap tax, its horrible and should be removed.
Well, if they want to go that way I think they should rebalance the Ava of merovingian troops in generic Ariadna. Make the chasseur, paracommando and maybe the moblot AVA 1 to reflect mero specificity. Let the zouave 0.5 SWC in vanilla and make him cheaper in Merovingia. I fell like the zouave would be more likely to have a bike since they have mecanized deploiement. I would love to have a molotok or an HMG on a bike with a side car (no need for special rule or 2 wound, just 2 guys in a bike ;D ) Something like this :
I really don't see bikes in FRRM, I don't feel that an outrider unit is something they would really use. but if standard Zouves would lose the .5 SWC that would be great. maybe swap the HMG for Molotok or maybe even a Spitfire as they're really dealing with things at a closer range with the Mechanized Deployment.
As they're a rapid reaction force, I'd like to see more mech deploy, it's an under represented skill in the game. Bikes would be cool, briscard profile on an ATV would be mint :-)
And maybe for mech deployment change the deployment radius restriction to only units of the same unit (Zouves deploy together, Biscards together etc)
Since I didn't get my dream come true with the USARF update, I'd love to see Ohio Minutemen get Multiterrain and Automedikits. The models already support the equipment, and it would add a lot of differentiation between them and Grunts, without just making them bad Veteran Kazaks. For Vanilla, I think the bigger issue is that camo spam is very powerful compared to other vanilla-style builds. Often times sectorials, like TAK or USARF actually provide more diverse ways to play than actual vanilla Ariadna, which seems backwards. This could be fixed by further restricting AVA on some camo units, there are just so many to pick from with AVA 2-3 (sorry Chasseurs, SAS, Tank Hunters, Foxtrot, Scouts, and Scots), but also by rebalancing a lot of the non-camo units to make them more desirable in comparison.
They could just have an extra price hike for infiltration (or forward deployment or whatever) + camo, since it has such synergy. In general, there's a lot of points costs which need to be revisited in Infinity.
I would say they rather need specialist. Specialist Operative, Forward Observer or CoC would me more than awesome and give them a chance to see some play
I think that would be fantastic. Unfortunately they just feel overpriced for what you get. I really like the T2 rifle for suppression fire defense, but that’s about it. SWC isn’t usually much of an issue, but it also feels steep to put them in a team for 2.5. I’m not sure that is necessary. With a 4-2 move they just don’t have the speed required to effectively compete for objectives, especially when you look at Uxia or SAS. The slow move makes them more of a stationary tank, I just wish they had more of an oomph, as it were, to put them ahead of a grey with volunteers. I said T2 HMG only half as a joke, they need something to stand out above the grey. They have 2 more armor, cannot core, and move slower. They cost 10 more points and 1 more swc for a worse link.
